$45 for that property if you're edging and blowing is a steal for the homeowner.
I thought 45 was too high but prices are higher up north than down here in LA
This sounds sexual for some reason 😂
I was thinking 55-60$ by looking at the backyard
sus comment
@@BallerDroneTV 😂 omg!!! I wasn’t even thinking this until now lol
That is a good idea for the 1-2 bucks a minute. Thanks for the tip. Just getting started down here in Florida while working my full time sales job. Hoping for one day to be running busy enough to quit the job and just have the business
How's it going so far? What part of fl?
Thats what I want to do too!
Around my area a spring clean up is anywhere from 175 to 350 lawn cut like 150
50$ minimum even if I can cut it in 5 mins with a weed eater. I'm not going to drive to a property for less.
That’s facts. That’s why it’s hard to make $ with lawns anymore cause you have people doing a $50 minimum lawn for 25-$30
The yard that was shown in this video in my town some guys would literally do it for $20 i would be at $50 the cheap guys are what ruins this buisness. Idk how they even make profit @Kcpart3KsizzleUpstatesfinest
@@Kcpart3KsizzleUpstatesfinestI would rather take over my neighborhood with low cuts than to drive all over. Saves gas and time. Less maintenance on the vehicle too
@@wardor9214the profit is not driving far distance. Lock down a neighborhood for cheap to save time and cost of truck repair. IMO
@@aldairmunoz4116yeah you will take over your neighborhood alright. People that do that are trying to pay a payment on there equipment. I’m in business to make $ not cut lawn for $20 that’s ok if your a teenager cutting your neighbors lawn. Not how you run a successful business!
$45 for that large yard is a good amount but with blow and edging? thats about 90-100$
Lol I just charged 40 for front and back 20 for just front, edging for an extra ten bucks and picking up dog poop for 15
$100 minimum
I think that’s not bad you could’ve gotten away with 85 though
The dog shit just some extra nutrients and compost for the yard
@@porkrollontoast8870as long as you don't hit it with the weed eater, man that's the worst. Happens to me all the time smh
Here in Houston can't boost the prices. Because Diego and Pedro charge $30 or $35 in cash and report less profit to avoid reaching 5k gap. While I am here struggling, paying state, local taxes and government taxes. Running solo. Fuel and truck maintenance.
5k gap?
That’s kinda fucked up bro they got mouths too feed to yk
Don’t hate the player hate the game. Diego and Pedro gettin paid by Lauren and Bob.
I know of one fellow on RUclips who quotes over the phone... he looks at the property on the internet and takes the acerage and multiples by 100. 1 acre is $100. 1/4 acre is 25...he adjusts for tall grass, trimming etc. He says by giving a close approximate quote he can usually get the job. The majority of people that call for a quote don't want to wait a day or two for someone to come out to quote the job.
I agree and think that is a smart tactic. I also use picture and google maps as well to give a quick quote
$100 to mow a whole acre is HORRIBLE my god. And actually, people appreciate in person quotes from my experiences. My brother owns a very successful lawn care and landscaping company and that's ALWAYS something the clients appreciate
You do realize that an acre is 37,000 SQ ft ?? That moron on RUclips is screwing himself royally that's a $400 job minimum
@@artoro8 So your brother is willing to drive across town to show up and look at a lawn and give a quote for a job he may not get offered?
I'm only 10 when I learn how to mow lawns I'm gonna do it for some extra money
Edit: I'm 11 now and have been since August 8th
Ur never too young to work
So I could work if i was only 2 months old is what your saying
Go gett him Tommy! If there land innit there's a bag innit 💰💰
I'm 8. Wanting to start up a lawn service company in my neighborhood. Eventually full time business for the remainder of the summer
I was bush hogging at 7yr
And this is why I'll always mow my own yard
I work alone keep my expenses low,and tryin make $30 an hour. I dont kill myself trying to work fast. If the work isnt enjoyable anymore its to much like work. I take it easy, but do great quality and im very dependable
Agreed 100%
$30 an hour is barely more than what I make not owning an entire business..
@@michaelb3581 you have the wrong perception I think. I'm not a high rolling big diesel truck driving $20k mower kinda guy. Everything i own is paid for in cash,no credit cards,no loans,no mortgage. I mow grass 7 months a year, cut firewood in the winter and spend my free time with the grandkids or fishing with my wife. Gettin rich doesn't concern me,i make enough to live on,and enjoy my life.
I sell my work on quality. I'd go nuts trying to compete on price with all the bottom feeders. I've created a niche where mowing the lawn gets me in the door. About 75% of my people appreciate my work enough to move on to landscaping, sod installations, etc. Considering learning tree trimming due to one customer whose new sod needs more sunlight. Works for me.
Your lawn are so different to aus lawns, look so fluffy
That first house you did personally I need to get paid right that looks like a 35 dollar cut so $140 a month😎👍🏽
Guys, stop worrying about the cheap guys that will do it for less. Theres always someone willing to go cheaper.
They dont stay in business long. So just keep doing you.
Take your acres times 100
I.e: .5 acres x 100 = 50
Min: $35 for a cut
Are you serious?
Pretty sure you meant x1000 because your charging 50 bucks for half an acre which is 21780 sq ft
@@adrianbusjahn893 I'm honestly confused why anyone liked your msg. Did i miss something? Because .5 x 100 is in fact 50. Half an acre for 50 sounds very reasonable especially with weedeating and edging, blowing grass off concrete tops etc.
@adrianbusjahn893 bro, did you just say you would charge 500 for half an acre lmao. Wow.
@Jayden-ce5mb I'm still stuck on 4 people having liked his comment. Where are they and can I bill them? Lol
Thanks this really helped
Glad it helped
My base price is $50. It’s a good even number for everyone plus it makes it easier for billing customers.
I make about $30 an hour. It sucks down in Houston. Theirs so much competition down here.
Hell noo
Bro are u watching Mike Andes
@@cmamsler does mike live in Houston?!?
@@SleepyJoe408 he has at least 12 locations in Texas alone. If your charging $30 And hour, just sell everything is quit now. Btw most my competition charges $60 an hour I charge $140 an hour. You and your branding are the only reason you think you have to charge $30.
@@cmamsler if you don’t live in Houston , you shouldn’t say anything. You have no idea what it’s like down here.
Where at in Maryland?
$40 minimum, which works out to anything under 2850 sq ft... I use a set cost of $ .014 per sq ft.. Example $.014 x 3,000 sq ft = $42 ... Sick of hearing about people charging $18 to mow a Lawn... KNOW YOUR WORTH !!! And by the way those who charge so little and are destroying the industry are not legit businesses, don't pay insurance, taxes, etc...
isnt a 3,000 square feet house kinda big? feel like you should be charging way more.
You would charge $140 dollars for a quarter acre?
Dam, I been doing it wrong. I make like 60-90 cents a minute
Damn bro that’s horrible gotta raise prices and work on efficiency.
Thank you
My town house lawns in md are 40
Charge as much as you can. How? Create demand by focusing only on getting referrals for 1 year. This helps avoid having to bid against other mowing companies - referrals want you.
Peter , question are charging 45 dollars for this home including the trimming and blowing and under 45 min. It takes you to do this yourself.
Yes I can get this done in 25-30 mins typically
When you say 25 minutes, do you mean that you spent 25 minutes on site? If so, that is 50 total minutes... you should definitely be charging more. You work too hard to only be generating $54 per man per hour. Now if you were only there for 15 minutes, that equates to .5 man hours, then your rate is at $90 per man per hour, much better. Just was not sure what you mean by 15 to 25 minutes, in our world of tight routes and not the greatest margins, that is a big difference in pricing. Love the content and appreciate it. Peace.
The lawns over in my neighborhood are about an acre and I would have to push mow how much should I charge
Boy if I’m edging and hedging, 45 is crazy maybe 55 or 60. This Florida we can charge for working in heat, pulling weeds, cutting palms all these are up charges. But for a basic maintenance cut 45 is the ball park.
Or use proper business techniques, determine your overhead, and operating, divide by hours you plan on doing. Then you have your hourly, charge according to time based on that.
Then you’re not playing some weird guessing game with competitors prices.
I usually charge 60$ for mowing onky for this much lawn
Could you make a vid on how to get more clients.. thanks
Just subscribed from Australia
I base my lawns at $2 aud per minute
Cheers! Great strategy!
Oh my God you’re right I just make my calculations on the time that I spend any and it comes out right!!
Solid
How do you factor in sales tax?
Where I'm from the average mowing job, edging, and blowing is $15 a yard. I charge 25 a lawn and people say i charge to much. I need to make a living so i have to charge higher. I have zero turn mower that uses quite a bit of gas. In profit i make about 10-15 a lawn. That goes down even more because of gas for my truck. Can't make a living mowing lawns anymore.
Should’ve gotten a normal mower
What about Florida when it is average of 90 in the summer
I would charge $35. Me and my buddy don’t want to overcharge people so they want us to keep coming back
Got me fkd up. Aint no way 🤦🏾♂️🤷🏾♂️🗽
Do you know what operation costs are?
Can Jim mowing people to come and mows our lawn please around 10.30am tomorrow please
I live in Maryland also!
Awesome!
Wow. I used to cut lawns this big and bigger with my neighbor. Maybe 9-10 a day. Was getting paid 15 dollars at the end of the day to run the weedwacker and leafblower at every house
Is that $1-2 just for your time? Or do you charge the same if you have an employee, 2 employees, 3 employees? Obviously a 4 man crew gets more done than a 1 man crew, but you have to pay your guys also. Any advice would help. I am trying to grow my business. Thanks
Is this price including taking away clippings?
Name of instrumental?
Any tips on growing your customer base when first starting out?

@@juan-jacquesfn4509 great advice! This is something I utilize when targeting a new neighborhood
That might take a whole day, how about mailers?
Can anybody help me with a massive section Quote it’s 10.8 hectares 28acres it use to take the worker for the property 14hrs a fortnightly?
I have the same exact headphone
but how much a month to keep it maintained
How much would you charge for a hilly area lawn ?
50/h all day long in S Louisiana
Did they pay you every following week you mowed their lawns? For example they paid you 45 and then the following week they paid you 45 again?
What area of Maryland are you in have some people looking for a small business to cut them they are tired of corporations taking over
I’m in Baltimore if you know people in my area.
I just started 2weeks ago
Where are you located in maryland bud ?
I am in Cecil county maryland
Overpriced shitty state !!
I cut every lawn on my street every week for $30. No matter the size, working on getting the next street over, I work alone
Your running yourself to the ground
Not smart bro. It’s like communism it sounds fair but it’s not fair to you to the big houses or the small houses
Bro you've gotta charge more for that big of a property. I charge $75 CAD for a similar house.
This is a small yard in the US
Your out of you’re mind man I’d charge 30 for that size lawn down we’re I live no way that yard with two people should take more than 20 minutes
@@Ohhwell idk man personally I don’t over charge and still make due with what I get paid and I don’t get fucked by taxes and shit when you have 25 yards a day it’s smooth sailing, appreciate the comment tho man!
@@Ohhwell same too you man !
@@tanner628230 is crazy. Youre working like a slave my guy. Youre taking around 20 bucks after equipment use and travel. And 2 people working it?….
Sounds like you're giving your blood sweat and tears away!
Uk.some businesses charge 30per hour. Bcoz they cant gwt work in the winter.
My response..dont put your problem onto the customers wallet.
Thats your idea challenge to be a man and find a way to make money in winter.
No excuses
2$ per min 👍👍
30$ is not enough for 30 minutes 😂
Yes it is doesn’t take much to mow for 30 mins what would you charge?
I mow, edge, trim, blow, weed/seed/feed, mulch the beds, prune the trees, and then I give the customer 45 dollars. I do 50 houses a day. Stop being lazy guys.
I only charge $20 to do all that
I have a $60 minimum
It's $25 a hour seems like a rip but that's minimum wage
Know your numbers. Whats your overhead? Whats your cost to show up and do the job? How much are you paying yourself and how much profit is there for the company? Etc etc etc...Then youll have an hourly price to charge. Mine works out to 148.73. Thats truck, trailer, mower, trimmer, blower, my wife and i paying ourselves 20 an hour with the business having about a 9 percent profit after everything is paid for. Thats including depreciation of equipment. You have to get new stuff someday. The business should pay for it. Therefore your customers should pay for it. I dont even have health insurance included yet. Am i pricing myself out? Not really. that puts a 30 minute yard at 75 bucks. I have a 65 minimum so im choosing my customer base and not the other way around. I just did a trim job today for Steve Miller the musician. 419 dollars for 6 man hours. they gladly pay to have their place look nice. On the flip side i do a regular joes house for 65 and hes happy as a clam he doesnt have to get out in the heat and do it himself.
I’d charge $30 tbh that’s not a big yard at all I do yards for about $30 that size
So you profit about $15 per yard after taxes, gas, equipment and maintenance cost, insurance, and vehicle note. If it's working for ya!
@@KnottyKev appreciate that man, keep up the great content!
@@tanner6282 Anytime, thank you!
Are you from 2020? 😂
@@speed_demon420 nah I’m just giving people reasonable prices, the better you price you’re yards the more customers you get simple as that and yes you make profit that yard would take 10 minutes that’s an easy $30
I'm no expert but for $45? No way bro 😂 I'm in the Bay area and if I have to guess that's at least $125 Job including edging
He should charge maybe 55 for the added edging but 125$ not sure even in the bay area lots would pay for that unless you got a bigger property
@@outlandishbottle9279 I've worked with my uncle plenty of time and yes they pay $125 for even smaller yards believe it or not
@@richcityrepresentative8805 Did they pay that weekly/monthly(if they were consistent customers) cause I know a lot of people stress over rent there right now so spending 125 on grass would seem like a lot
55 and its going to be skint
If you have a business on RUclips then you can just do it for free because you'll still get the viewers on RUclips and get money by RUclips so you can just do it for free
If you agree like the vid the comment
Duh
😑😑😑
I charge $25.00/hour or i give a contract price
That's really low, it's been 2 months so i hope you upped your price
You should be at $90 an hour per man.. believe me if you were a legit business paying taxes, insurance etc. No way could you charge $25 an hour... Raise your prices, Know your worth and get legit ASAP
But you got 2 ppl so that job should take less than 15min. If that takes 30 min for both of you your making barely 1 dollar per min
I charge 15
😮 for what?
$50 a cut for me the way that lawn looks. Don’t like it go else where and low ball someone else.
I run a business not a charity case.
We have a $65.00 minimum. 🤷🏻♂️
My guy charge me minimum $60 a cut
Yep thats very cheap here in VA we getting 60 minimum and that yard 80 atleast cut edging blowing and 5 for each hedge
This is terrible advice.
😂
I'm getting a hundred dollars for a property that size
Jesus Its a basic service not rocket science don't need to think about it that much...small lawn? Small price Big lawn = bigger price. UNDERSTAND?
Small Lawn + Difficulty Level: Easy, Medium, Hard
Medium Lawn + Difficulty Level: Easy, Medium, Hard
Big Lawn + Difficulty Level: Easy, Medium, Hard
...for instance: A small lawn with a ton of precise edging VS a big lawn that has little to no edging
In actuality, a 9-tier system.
@@RagTag-N-Bobtail how do you figure in the price for the varied difficulty levels?

Your obviosly not legit
You're obviously broke. My brothers lawn care and landscaping company charges $50 minimum and has 100+ clients bi weekly. Get your money up.
How about snow removal?
Your prices are a little low for first time and only time it's more but if the people wants to sign up for a weekly service it's right on
Heres a better way to clear more business.... Have a set list of premium customers that are subscription ONLY 60$ a week minimum. Get your baseline to keep you in business and every season, mail out as many business cards, hand out as many business cards as you possibly can, for ONE TIME MOWS around your route. Pick up a one time now for 1$ per minute. MOW ONLY. tell em hey, ill weedeat but you godda pay extra. People wont want that, but theyll want you to mow still. Mow for $30, takes you 10 minutes, you never touched a weedeater or blower, just blades on the grass for $180/hr + your weekly subscription. Easy does NOT mean most reasonable or fair business practice. Dont overcharge people.
