Thanks for watching, from all of us at Matt's off-road recovery!
Y'all surprising Ed for his 84th... that brings a tear to my eye. We should all strive to be the person who is loved enough to get a surprise party for thier 84th birthday. Happy birthday Ed!
lol a tear to your eye .. it’s like a poem haha if you said that in real life it would sound so corny
So who's the jerk who was sitting behind the door when Ed came in? He couldn't be bothered with putting his phone down to shout 'surprise"??
@@showmemo3686 ahhhh beat me to it, I had to take my dog out lol! I had that comment written up and everything.
Yea sourpuss gets the party pooper award…cmon man! 😠
How is Ed 84 year old? I thought he was in his 50s or 60s and a little wrinkly.
@@ryanmacneille7429 he’s 50 with 34 years experience! 😉
You guys are great Fabricators. I loved watching the build-out on the MORRVAIR and now on the Banana. And I love the recoveries. I now especially look forward to my Wednesday, Friday, and Sunday fixes of Matt's off-road recovery then Fab rats.
But I've got to bring this up. It concerns me about your apparent lack of concern about your eye safety. There's an awful lot of power tools throwing metal shavings, grinding sparks, and other stuff around and I rarely see eye protection. With so many people in your organization and as much as you guys do it's not a matter of if, it is just a matter of when. If you won't do it for yourself, please do it for the people who love you and don't want to see you hurt.
Thanks for listening, I'll keep watching.
Maybe if enough of us viewers thumbs up this comment they'll realize how much we care about them and how much it concerns us about the unnecessary danger they're putting themselves in.
I was using a grinder and despite wearing my regular glasses a bit of metal got in my eye. After a couple of painful days of hoping it would get better I went to the hospital, where a doctor gave me an anaesthetic drop and told me I had to not blink while she came at my eye with a needle and got it out. Took more willpower than I knew I had, never want to do that again. The doctor was a legend.
As a relative newcomer to your channel I’m not aware of Lizzies relationship to you. I assumed she was your daughter but it appears she’s not. So who can answer this for me. Thanks. Love your recoveries and the equipment you have. As stated earlier, please start wearing eye protection, all of you. I’m a retired fireman and can’t even begin to tell you how many calls I have run for serious injuries to the eyes. Some resulted in permanent loss of vision. It only takes a second to happen and can cause a lifetime of vision problems. Just make it mandatory with no exceptions.
@@jeffparker3334 my understanding is that Lizzie is a family friend that Matt has known since she was a little girl. She wasn't on when I first started watching but was added and I don't remember all the details of her introduction but there is a video where she is introduced. And FYI, I understand there have been a lot of comments given about the fact that they don't use safety glasses and that a lot of people had sent them boxes of safety glasses. My understanding is they've got so many that they've asked people please stop sending them . But like the rest of us they're stuck in their ways. I'm hoping they learn the easy way and not the hard way!
@@mikeslater6246 Thanks for the information. I’m sorry they don’t wear them. I broke a face shield when a cutting wheel broke. I hate to think what that would have done to my face. I’m going to look back and see if I can find that video. Thanks again Mike. I’m going to ask the question on the main comment page too.

Love the bumper!!! 💯 And Lizzy is adorable!! Fun ending with the welding helmet ❤️🐞
Wow, no wonder you all looked so worn out when my family and I stopped by the shop on Friday afternoon. Very cool to see the Banana up close and personal, and seeing the work that has gone into it has been really incredible. Thanks again for welcoming us so warmly even though I'm sure you all just wanted to head home. I feel bad I didn't say Happy Birthday to Ed when I walked right by him! My girls loved it (especially meeting Max and Lady), thanks again!
Cant wait to see the banana work again and this time it is more meaner. Happy 84th birthday Ed.
Nothing more rewarding than seeing Ed with the biggest smile know he’s touched your family’s as well as so many other lives! Thanks for having Ed around whenever he can be! Such a wholesome channel to watch! 💖
Happy Birthday Ed. We love you out here!!!

And the UK dose !
I'm not sure you guys realize how inspiring you are. We generally get to watch these shows where they build a car to perfection that is worth hundreds of thousands when it is done. It is great to see what every-day type mechanics can do. I'm overwhelmed watching the others. I'm inspired watching you guys, thinking... I could actually do that!! Thanks!
So many friends on his 84th birthday surprise party, Ed must have done something right
Happy birthday Ed, you are the Star of the show. Thank you very much all of you. Love from California.
Eds B-day all the progress, Lizzy's adorable antics. Shops family atmosphere. Thank you
Nothing I like more than a girl welder, I’m a 61 year old retired welder of 37 years and it does my heart well to see the girls doing the craft I loved all my life! I’m so proud of you Lindsey, “You Go Girl “ and you rock! 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻🤙🏻🤙🏻
I can't believe Matt didn't touch that bumper end immediately after it being welded up.

This is the most wholesome channel of all time. Love the consistency of episode releases too. Here’s hoping for 1M subs soon. Well done MORR team.
Well said ! Yea, Definitely a Neat channell. Good People , a Few Laughs & Never a Dull Moment. Beats Watching the News anyday of the Week !
Happy Birthday Ed, thank you for letting us viewers be apart of your 84 Birthday celebration.
Awesome episode, the banana is coming together nicely.
As a retired railroad boilermaker kids are always asking me about welding as a career, and I always tell them welding is the easy part. Being a good fabricator that can think out of the box is the hard part? 😳🤔🤗👍❤️
As a welder, I'm always finding new projects to do. No kids yet, but they are in the plans.
You are absolutely right
Eyeball engineering. Matt excels at it, which is one of the reasons why I love these fabrication segments.
@@kevincosta9228 Paul @ Fab Rats uses an eyecromitor to get some of his dimensions, etc. Matt, probably borrowed the idea from him.
@@Farm_fab Wait. You’re planning to weld up some kids in the future? 🤔😳😁
I was there on Ed’s birthday buying a shirt and things! GREAT to meet the man, talk briefly with him and wish him a happy birthday! Well deserved surprise for him!
The more I watch you guys, the more I like you all. Just some good people, all of you.

Those “things” on the end of the frame are called (drum roll please) HORNS. 🤣🤣😁😁
Happy Birthday 🎂🎈🎉 Ed. Keep the weather reports coming. 👍
This channel has become an extended Off Road rescue family story. No seriously - you are a family that rescues people.
"that is terrifying" -- Trevor slays me with how quick he goes to the dark alternate meaning
Lizzy, "I've cut many, many feet with those kind of scissors".
That Ed is just great…..!!
He’s not 84 years old….it’s just his 4th twenty first…!!!!
Keep going Ed!💪🏻💪🏻

That was fun. As the saying goes, "Work fascinates me. I could watch it all day long."
OMG Ed is still panning for gold. Ed IS Golden. God Bless him.
Well at least ya got a smile outta lizzy by the end!!!! Ha ha ha liking the way that front end is shaping up !!!
Lizzy's adorable antics make this show top on my list to watch.
Matt is so forgivable when mistakes happen during fabrication, “ don’t worry bout it , we’ll put a light over it “ 🤣 these guys have it made in the shade , with a employer like Matt …
Yeah but just imagine if you ever did piss him off. He'd probably fire your entire 👪 🌳 lol
Dude I totally know what it's like to have such a gracious employer! Better money elsewhere? Sure. Better boss that actually cares about his people and not the money? Only other person I would want to work for at this point in my career is myself
@@bigsexymuthashutyomouth2546 Nah Matt seems pretty reasonable and easy going. If he ever got that mad he hire the family back the following day! 😆
I wonder what Randy would think about that?

All over too quick ! I can't get enough of the Banana rebuild ! 😁
Thanks for that sweet gift for Ed. When we met Ed down at the car show earlier this year, he was so kind to us. Kudos for a great man reaching 84 years old and may he enjoy many more wonderful years.
Happy birthday, Ed! Here's to many more!
Coming from a man with a degree in vocal music, that rendition of Happy Birthday was absolutely horrendous. But it was heart felt and therefore absolutely beautiful. Happy Birthday Ed.
Random thought: install a second windshield washer system but put the nozzles on the front bumper. When it gets hot you can spray water on the radiator from the drivers seat.
Good thought but water spray and dust would = mud
@@sledawgpilot have you not seen matt dumping water on the radiator before?
I have always questioned why they haven't done something like that yet. I can't believe it's something they haven't considered yet.
@@azpapa9347 they have considered that, there is a video where Matt explains all the things he had considered and has done in the past. this was one of them.

The Banana is like Frankenstein! It's a man-made mad machine full of stitched scars that we truly love.
Hi From the UK. I live in the crowded south of England, not much chance for off roading so I don't think I will be needing your services anytime soon but I love you guys and love your channel. You are living the best life and helping people when they need you, it is great to see.
It reminds me of the time in 1981 when I spent two years travelling the US in my '67 F250 with a cabover camper.. I drove on to Pismo Beach and had a great day on one of those Honda three wheel ATCs...that was fun. Got my two wheel drive F250 stuck in the sand though and this recovery guy turned up and pulled me out...he's probably Ed's age now!
Keep the videos coming, I must visit when I'm next in the US, I believe Utah is the one contiguous state I have never been to.
He said don't feel bad about the cut...Matt you marked it🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
84 and still gettin after it that's awesome! Happy Birthday Ed!
On occasion I have used Uni-strut nuts in places where I couldn't get a wrench in for a normal hex nut. I've also been impressed with the "nut-welded-to-metal-strip" that come with some trailer hitch kits. I'm very impressed with how well you put all of that together in such tight spaces (XJ). You guys are the absolute best, with Ed's birthday. His #1 gold mine win is you guys, nothing can equal the friends and family he has in Matt and his team.
Nut serts are handy too
I have watched several of your videos and continue...They are awesome for sure. The effort, time, distance of travel, (sometimes trailering the Morrvair or Banana) your crew...Talk about dedication. You don't see that much @ least here in MA. God Bless you & be safe.
Eds birthday just about made me tear up. How do people dislike this videos, it blows my mind.

Matt, for a man who didn't start out as a designer you have the eye. You came up up an Apex built and set the top rung of what you could do with a Corvair.
