Kids just don’t know how to dance these days
Damita Jo Freeman on stage with Joe Tex was my favorite moment as well. Was 10 years old and immediately bought that single.
RIP Shabba-Doo💕
Pat and Shabba doo: my two favorites. They added showmanship and style to dancing. RIP Adolfo and Tyrone Proctor.
Tyrone passed away too? 😥
YyyeeessszZZ
Same Adolfo is the man he just had “It”
Pat, Damita, Lil Joe, Shabba Doo, Cookie Morris Campbell Lock and too many others were all great
@@TerraRyzingliveshave all the aforementioned people transitioned?
Everybody is THROWING DOWN with tha dancing!!!! LOL!!!! Notice how everyone is sooooo SLIM and TRIM back then, small waists.
I feel bad for kids born in the 1980s and 1990s. They missed out on everything that was golden related to music. The talent, the records, dance shows and loads more.
I was born dec 1966 . WATCHED a lot of tv in the 70's on WPIX 11 NY / WWOR Ch 09 / W??? ch 5 NY .. I believe i caught Soul Train on Saturdays Before High School Sept 1981 and during . LOVEED THE 70s as a kid
@Black Mamba Jr 4 Ever ~~~~~~~~~~ here's some tissues.........LOL

@Kara Brittany
I know what I meant. You kids born in the 1980s and 1990s missed out on the best eras for music. 50s-80s.
Nice try though... Trying to rewrite for me
We really gotta get Damita Jo Freeman interview next! Please Soul Train get her on here
....she is my fave out of all of them....she was so original and cold blooded with her isolations and movements.....
Pat Davis & Damita Up Freeman were my 2 favorite female dancers on Soul Train & Shabba Do we my favorite male dancer their dancing was different never get tired of watching them dance!
Too many legends 💫 LOVE IT ❤️🙏🏼
HOLLA ALL MY FAVORITE DANCERS SHABA DOO PAT AND DAMITA JAMES WOW GOD BLESS
And please let's not forget the other 70's dancers: Wanda Fuller, Fawn Quinones (sister to Shaba Do), Diana Brunner, Linda Howard, James Phillips, Gary Keys...etc.)
Is james phillips still with us? He was a heck of a dancer.
This is awesome, thank you! Adolfo and I became friends throughout the years here in Chicago, after having first met at a dance workshop, and then a follow up interview on my radio shows. He is sorely missed, and his impact is forever here in Chicago. We shared a common grammar school and Boys and Girls Club, and we bonded over that...
Mate I’m a 35 year old British Dude and watching electric boogaloo as a kid and young adult his moves especially in Number 2 stand out as just the coolest f***ing dancer I’ve honestly ever seen
Those were the days of my childhood and I loved watching Soul Train 🚂, I always wanted to be on Soul Train and to be a Soul Train dancer. Shabba Doo of course was my favorite. All the dancers were so 😎 cool. It shows that we as a people are not only royal, but we are born with natural soul😎😊👼✝️🕊️💖🎉🎊🌻💛👏🚂
It’s the way my people had their hair and bodies natural for me 😍
Some of my favorite dancers were in this clip. Love this ❤👏
my elementary and jr high days in 1970s...........and look how fit they were.........and real hair.......
Oh my what good time's that was!!!!!!!
Very Wonderful Editing ❗❗I Truly Enjoyed Every Single, Minute of It 🖤🖤
Serving a paycheck!
Thanks Mark for Sharing and taking the time to put this together. Truly the best days of my early life!! #shaw4life77
Pat Davis was so bad!
I wonder what happened to Damita Jo Freeman & Shabba Doo was attractive back then and now RIP
The Hippest Trip in America, wishing you LOVE, PEACE and SOUL.
Makes you appreciate your Black culture more!!
We need Soul Train back!
I miss this so much. These were our dance teacher's on Saturday's 😍
It would be great but here's the problem: the music is mostly awful and isnt that creative, and not too fun and unplayable because of bad language, and lyrics that are not worth listening to or understandable. Yeah that just about covers it. I miss the days of Soul Train..
Fun! It still doesn't get old after all these years. People were so original with their fashion and their moves! I love it! Thank you ☺❗
Love that you have so many clips of Damita Jo and Pat Davis. I’m a long time friend and huge fan of Damita. I can watch these two dance all day! Thanks for putting this together.
PAT DAVIS..my absolute favorite...Why we havnt heard from her..As a kid I actually thought she was a Robot♥️
She has a great interview here on RUclips with Soul Train exec Chuck Johnson and DanceZation!
@@Rhythm973 Finally thanks, I need to watch it..
Pat lives outside of the U.S but, was in the states about 2 years ago and worked with Derek "Dfox" Fleming on the Soultrain Cruise as representative dancers from the show and part of the ship's entertainment.
I love Soul Train. I love Classic disco music.
Loved this!!!! Thank you for sharing!!
What song is that from???
I thought I would never ever see this episode again I was 7. This is a joy I'm in tears. I love to dance and watch others dance too👍💯😎🤗💎
Best episode. Damita, Pat, Shabba doo. This captured that feeling we had back then.
When. People. Use. To. Dance?
Yep very true
Classic 🎼🤘🏼
I love black people
Wow Marco...amazing!!! This is great So proud and happy for you!
It didn’t matter what hardships we were facing, Soul Train made you feel good for that particular hour! Marco was, unquestionably, my favorite male regular Soul Train dancer…one Smooth Brother! Rest in God’s eternal peace, Shabba Doo.
Its always good to see old school videos, in front of the TV trying to mimic the dances. Good Memories
Soul train dancing at its best
*Niecy Payne was one of the most beautiful dancers on Soul Train*
I agree🌹
They danced their as off for that 2 piece chicken & biscuit. 😂👍🏾
They need to bring this back on Saturday don’t care if it is reruns still would be nice to watch anyway
I remember going to the fair with a pop locking outfit on. I was about 12 years old. My friends Preston and Lynn laughed at me. With those striped socks and my jeans rolled up. 🤣🤣🤣. In hindsight. I did look a hot mess. I'm 60 now and hindsight is always 20/20. Lynn and I are still good friends. Preston passed away. Great memories. My first time going to the fair without my Mom. We jumped the fence and it was exhilarating. I was officially a thug. Lol. I would do it all again. Things were so much simpler and fun. Compared to the kids now days. No fights or guns. Just being a devilish kid.
Can we get a Thelma Davis interview? I would love to here her story.
She has a great interview on RUclips with Dance Mogul Magazine!
@@Rhythm973 Need to see it..thanks!
I am actually interviewing Thelma Monday June 7th 2021
Exactly whats wrong with the world today -no Soul Train😢
Man I use to get up Saturday to watch Soul Train.
Good ol days!!😊❤❤❤
Pam and Damita could out dance anybody at that time. RIP Adolfo..BTW..have not seen any dancing of Fred "Rerun" Berry..why? Next to Damita, one of the first popular dancers on the show, and most memorable.
Pam or Pat?
Thank you you Adolfo!!! Awesome vid and tune!!! ❤
Any information on the songs used in the video?
\\\\\The Best of the best////// Louie Ski Carr; Myron Montgomery; Tyrone Proctor; Jeffrey Daniel; Jodi Watley; Rosie Perez; Aretha Jackson & Crystal McCarey (dance/fashion queens). Congrats one and all.
You're Definitely Speaking True Facts Friend, I Myself Am So Into Old Dances Such As These I Dream Of Doing A Live Performance Tribute To This Iconic Show By Showcasing A Blended Mix Of Dance Moves That Were On The Show From 1970-1990!
Essas pessoas em uma noite tiveram a vida mais interessantes do que muitas pessoas que viveram 90 anos.
Verdade, acredito que foi o maior privilégio na vida deles serem um dos "Soul Train Dancers ".
In the 60s and 70s you had to know how to dance and then the 80s brought in the oochie mama style.
Yooo what's that second song..? 🔥
What izzzz that second song?
Damita Jo Freeman is the best dancer in Soul Train history. . . PERIOD! Shabba Doo was also a favorite but no one is better than Damita Jo.
I love Damita, but I still give the nod to Pat Davis!
Rip shabba doo 😢
I never missed a Saturday morning Soul Train! those were the days!
Absolute Class dancing from an era we will never see the likes again ❤
These times were golden and everyone of you who was there should treasure them because they are gone and will never come back! Soul Train was such a special show for me personally in the 80s when in England we had just 3/4 tv channels so when I saw a clip i'd go nuts and wanted to know what it was, The best music, the best dancers, the best choreography it was so faultless! As a white British man this also educated me with black people as I was brought up in a rural area of England which was predominately white people, My love for Soul Tain is lifelong!!! RIP Shabba Doo You was amazing.
Classic times
What's the music in the second half? Please!!??!!
Gorgeous and incredibly talented!. Love watching her moves.
So did my ex sister in law and trailer Rosie Perez. You will get karma
You'd see your parents and think they never had a life before you. This was them back in their youth. So cool to watch
Sis with the short afro was getting it!!!
Cual es el nombre de la canción que empieza desde el minuto 1.30?
Damn it! I love my people!!! We know how to have fun.
Wow, Pat Davis could really do The Robot
They all are getting DOWN!!!!
Jammin, we have the flavor
AUN CONTINUO BAILANDO GRACIAS A DIOS QUE PENA QUE YA HAYA PARTIDO SHABA DO EXITOS SALUDOS DESDE PERU
Patricia Davis was my Soul Train crush!!!!!!🥰😘🥰
OMG ....thanks for the memories.
My favorite moment was the Lockers fantastic!
WoW Soul Train , LOVE You all 💕💞💖
My friend and I saw them in DC when we were teenagers and they sang “Yesterday” by the Beatles. Please look it up. They were amazing and I will NEVER forget how beautiful they sounded when they sang it. 🥰❤️🙌🏽👏🏽
Big fan of Shabba Doo/O-zone :) from Breakin. He and Turbo(Shrimp), inspired me to be a breaker. Loved it. Growing up close to Detroit watching Soul Train every week when I was young, more so for the music as I am a drummer first, and love funk. I had no idea that was him, but you can soooo tell when he's pop-lockin. :) Cool Clips! Love the tunes, and today's tech for this being shared!!
Damita Jo Freeman number one female dancer..
Damita Jo Freeman a phenomenal dancer. Right On! magazine spotlighted the most popular dancers on the show .. Damita Jo memorable
Too bad none of these talented dancers were getting paid, except a 2 piece chicken platter. Shabadoo said it was fun for a little bit with the chicken but felt they deserved much more. So he left.
💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽💃🏽👏🏾🙌🏾👏🏾🙌🏾
The grand children of papi soul and mammy soul dance Twerk now...in zigzag 😋🤩😻😜😆😅😹
1:28 What is this song/artist???? Any all help appreciated. God Bless
Before the shootings, killings and violence in the nightclubs, We had Soooooooooooooooooooooul Train!
Shabba Doo was just on another level...
Please, what is the name of the first song, and who sings it? Thanks (Brazil)
It wasn’t just the music and the guest stars but the fashion though the years.
So miss the old days..I loved Shabba-do!!!❤
What is the name of last jam, it's bad, kool, awesome
The girl at 2.06 is crazzzzzy lol
SHABBA DOO !!!! REST IN BREAK !
What's the name of that second song?
What song is that at the end?
Met Shabba Doo in NY early 70's while he was a soul train locker ,I was a Rocker from Brooklyn . RIP brother .Lockers vs Rockers 1975 NYC
The name of the second song
wish I was on the soul train!!
Name of the second song?
Shabba Doo was just too fly with it.. his swing arm and hop is especially sicko.. the master Don Campbell was the best but Shabba stayed within the confines of the rhythm where it wasn't broken ..and his ability not to jump out the window super fast like Don would do lol.. Rest easy to both of you style warriors.. and shoutouts to the editor of this, that heavy percussive mix blended perfect with the dancers. #GangstaBoogie #FlyguyOffgrid
Marco? I see you Class of 77
Does anyone know who the dancers are at 1:59 in the video? I'm trying to find a longer clip of them dancing in the line, but haven't been able to find anything yet. If the complete video of this episode of Soul Train is available online, that would be great.
