This is a great game, thanks for giving it more coverage, I think it deserves it. I play with the provided counters, but have always wanted to use miniatures with it.
My pleasure, and it is definitely a game that deserves a higher profile. I am going to return to it in the new year, as I plan to explore how it marries up with 'Rebel Raiders On The High Seas'. Hope you continue to have fun with it, especially if you can get some minis involved.
look’s like a interesting game, specially with the counter upgrades. The Civil War is my thing but I never played a naval or river game from that war. I might have to look into it eventually but first I have to get Undaunted 😊
Very sensible military expansion policy, I think! 🙂 As far as Civil War naval games go, I think this is the easiest to play but love how it returns plausible outcomes. My 'go to' miniatures rules were always 'Smoke On The Water', which I think might be free to download online these days. Those rules do work with the Wargame Vault counters.
I absolutely love this game. I went with the miniatures route, for I luckily have a large gaming table. Your proposal has great credit. The larger prints do look impressive. Would spray painting dominoes or longer blocks the same color as the blue on the printout ships, then mount the prints to the tops of the dominoes for a slightly 3D look?!? Just a thought. Anyway, your videos are so inspiring, and thank you for taking the time to make them.😊
Thanks very much! I'm really glad you've enjoyed them so much. Your dominoes idea is great, and would certainly make them 'pop' a bit. A variation I have seen involved thin blue and grey styrofoam sheets. The blue sheet was the 'water' sheet, and the chap then cut the grey sheet around the shape of the ships, and glued them to the blue base. They looked a little odd up close, but from an elevated standing position around a table the effect was impressive 🙂 By the way, I will be heading into town to buy a couple of packs of dominoes tomorrow 😄
Yes, shame. They have a good mix of scenarios which I love, but it's a strange conflict for the understandable lack of fleet actions. Playing the CSS Arkansas' initial run down the Yazoo really brings home to me just how materially one-sided the whole business was.
Great video as always Andrew. The USS Osage was named after the Osage Nation, pronounced "oh-sage". I left the link for an interesting video below about their history. Keep up the great work and I look forward to more of your videos ruclips.net/video/kXjhNhxSjiY/видео.html

Great game, it really grows on you. Wish it had more scenarios, but the Confederate navy's lack of ships precludes that.
