  • This video is about the A330 vs 767. Airbus A330 vs Boeing 767. The Airbus A330 first launched in 1990s and Boeing 767 in the 1980s. A330 vs 767 isn’t actually all that close, as Airbus launched the A330 as a slightly larger widebody aircraft than Boeing’s 767. But the Boeing 767 was more efficient than Airbus A330. So then, Airbus A330 vs Boeing 767, A330 vs 767. Which is the better widebody aircraft? Tune in all the way till the end of this A330 vs 767 video to find out.

    A330 hands down. It still in production for passenger, Cargo, and tanker version. It’s successful and airbus kept a330 with neo.

      sqpilot63074 767 hasn’t stopped production yet. Still years of cargo orders being completed. And I still love the A330 and prefer it to the 767 but having been on both the 787 is a better aircraft. The Neo is nice but it’s not as good as a modern clean sheet design.

    As a passenger in coach I prefer the 767 because I prefer the 2-3-2 seating arrangement. Some airlines fly the 767 with 18.5 seat width.. I also like the much larger windows on the 767... This comparison is not really fair... The 767 should have been compared against the A300.. I know the A330 is a newer generation fly by wire aircraft!!

    The efficiency chart in 5:15 is quite questionable. Because according to the chart, the both the B767-400 and A330-300 has fuel burn per seat km on par with the 30yrs younger A350-900 at 2.9l/km/seat. Also the A330-200 was introduced several years after the B767-300. I would hardly believe the A330ceo would sell equally well if it features higher fuel burn per seat and per trip. Let's not forget that the A330ceo uses the RR trent 700 which was a new generation of 3 spool engine boasting some 10% efficiency improvement as it was developed from the RB211. Lastly the seating capacity of the A330-200 is also in question because based on current comparison, the A330-800 is supposed to rival the B787-8 which superseded the B767-400. Somehow in this comparison its capacity has shrunk by 1 size.
    All in all I think this comparison data's does not tally up much especially with the seating capacity can lead to many false comparison and left many questionable loopholes when probe further.
    *FYI, the B767-300ER was facing head on competition from the A300-600 which was smaller than the A330-200.

    • @oneskyflyer
      @oneskyflyer  4 года назад +1

      Ching Wei Xion Thanks for your comment. Hmm well perhaps it could be down to the range as I got these figures from Wikipedia. In terms of seating capacity, the A330neo-800 carries 6 more passengers at least than the -200 due to the new Airspace cabin configuration. Thanks for watching and do stay tuned for more great videos on the way!

    • @chingweixion621
      @chingweixion621 4 года назад +2

      @@oneskyflyer the 6 extra passenger doesn't bump an aircraft capacity up by one size. And although the range does play a part, it should not have affected the fuel burn per passengers km. It is definitely the seating capacity that is affecting the results. How could the B767-300ER which is 180ft in length and seat 7 abreast can accommodate more passengers than the wider and longer A330-200 which is 192ft in length and seats 8 abreast. The seating capacity just doesn't adds up because you have a clearly bigger (longer and wider) aircraft now carrying less passengers than a smaller one. Is like saying you can seat more passengers on the B767 than the B787, Its just absurd.
      I really do suggest you take down the video before you mislead more people.

    • @andrejohnson3520
      @andrejohnson3520 4 года назад +1

      You are correct in so many aspects but wrong about the 767-400. The 400 is similar in length to the a330-300 and thus has a seating rivaling such aircraft.

    • @chingweixion621
      @chingweixion621 4 года назад

      @@andrejohnson3520 but the 767-400ER typical seating configuration is 7 abreast while the A330-300 is 8 abreast. Even on high density configuration, the A330ceo will always have one passenger more than the B767 in a row(9vs8). So when both aircraft are similar in length one will always have a higher seating capacity than the other.

      @@chingweixion621 Can ya do basic math... Appears you can and the host of the video cannot. Why he purposefully chose not to be able to read I do not know. Now onto another point you brought up: Reason 767 has same passenger/km as a350 etc is OEM, MTOW, Range. Same reason a320/737 likewise have superior numbers. Highly optimized and range increases fuel/passenger/km. 767 was optimized at its current size/range whereas the a330 was built to be longer legged and more passengers as they were updating from a300 which was severely range limited. Why the a330F isn't exactly flying off the shelves. Same reason no one is jumping at converting 777-300ER's(but they will happen) and probably why the 777-9/a350-900/1000 will NEVER be converted to freighters other than rarely. Freighters are not limited by cargo volume, but rather weight. 777-8 may be converted to a freighter around 2030, who knows. They might just slap the new engines or wing on the existing 777F and call it a day with the updated cockpit.

    Correct me if I'm wrong but are you not comparing 2 air frames that are 10 years apart in age? If you take that into account then the Airbus should be doing far better in every category. If you look at longevity as well as the dubious wiki (not a reputable source for research in any industry) stats used economics then the 767 stands out. Either way they a both great work horses.

    I would day the 767 is more of a A300 competitor with shorter range. The A330 closer to both mid range and mid size wide boddy. Of cause boeing have the 777 as the large size long range wide boddy.
    Granted the 767-400er is sort of up there with the 330. Of cause, now the 330neo is a thing, the A330 is almost aprotching long range

    The capacities are Not what the Aircraft are laid out for.
    The A330-200 is capable for more PAX than the 767.
    It’s related to the airline how the 2-class layout is made.
    By the way it’s somehow difficult to compare those both, as the 767 was the competitor to the A310. A330/340 was as Said before competitor to the trijets and later to the 777.
    The costs per seat depend to the layout, which is not as mentioned in this video.

    There is a lot of detailing that is missing from your content and might come across as misleading. Some of these comparisons that are out there are taken under specific conditions and if your content provider is publishing a content that is scewed to a bias then it distort the actual performance. Have you ever questioned why the a330 has outsold a plane that has been around for 12 more years and had a established brand loyalty if it was so close or even more superior as your video has shown. I know you are using data that you have come across but they are the wrong ones. Always loved the 767, wish they reengined it, but it ain't has good as your video has shown.

    You have certainly sent me to look back at some stats on these two aircrafts because I know that a lot of what is in this comparisons is way off. Firstly capacity. The a330-200 is less than 3 meters shorter than the largest 767 which is the very rare 400 with a wider cabin (8 abreast seating compared to 7) thus being the smaller model has a larger seating capacity. Wherever you picked up those capacity figures just the mere dimension of the planes would tell you that that figure was inaccurate. The 330-300 has no 767 variant that it can compare with because it's capacity is so much more than all of them. Look it this way. One extra seat for each row in a longer cabin than the 400. If you also look at the correct order and delivery figures you will see that the a330 has over 200 more orders for the ceo version than the 767, not The incorrect figure you have in the video(a330 CEO, 1486. 767, 1272) The a330 is really a more efficient longer range aircraft with more mission capability than the 767 thus why when the answer to it which was the 787 was introduce airbus thought they could compete with it with a product they knew was better than the 767. Please do not stop putting out content as I actually look forward to them, but do the research. (Don't beleive everything you see on the internet 😅😅😅)

    Honestly i think that 767-300ER does not belong to this class of aircraft so A330-200 shouldn’t be compared to it. Firstly the A330-200 is almost 60 tonnes heavier and using a more modern seating capacity the A330-200 could carry significantly more passengers than the 767-400ER. In summary , the 763 belongs to the NMA class which is where the 757-300, A310 lives in
