    The bus company here in Portland Oregon. Tri met. Had the 1982 rts. But we're gone after the summer of 2000. They were junk. No air. And wrong moter.

      I think NYC had the only modified RTS buses (8000-8599) with the higher idle and V8 sounding 6V92 engines above 30 mph. I think they were probably modified by the bus mechanics in the depots. I truly believe no other RTS buses in the other states had a setup like NYC. I remember taking the Bx12 Limited to Pelham Bay Park after school. Best ride of your life on a bus. Then I would catch the Bx14. We don't have that route anymore. It's now the Bx4A.

      @@milestone_achiever4634 I live in the Jamaica Area and I mostly took the black back RTS-06's the scream of that engine when its taking off was the best.

    They don’t make motors like the 6v92 anymore. Pure power and sound!! (And smoke)

      Jireh Martin if you look there is a video of this bus revving. At the time the fast idle did not work. Now it does.

    I think nyc should leave some of the 1999 RTSs in service, just to keep the tradition alive still. I think NJT may still have a small number of their RTSs left.........I hope

    When did they install the push tape feature, cause when the RTD first ordered these, they had pull cord stop request signals

    • @BusTVChan
      @BusTVChan  7 лет назад +3

      That im not too sure of, this unit was used for movies and tv shows and such, so it could have been modified by an agency like that. I dont know enough about RTD and LACMTA to tell you all the information about that however

      Its been around since the late 1970s. They got rid of them in the mid 1990s.

    How do you maintain a bus like this? Like where would you go to get oil changed, tire changed, suspension, engine work, etc. If I had the money I'd love to own one but where would I have it worked on? I can't do it myself

  • @sonicboy678
