NJ transit corporation used to have Nova RTS T80206 30.ft and 40.ft buses and they were equipped with Cummins ISC and ISL engines with ZF ecomat 5HP 592 Transmission and they were retired then in 2013
I rode the rts buses that were driven in new York city. I ended up getting a CDL in Connecticut but never got the chance to drive an rts. I love rts buses. Take them over those ugly gilligs anyway. Thank for the memories. Keep up the good work.
Man, I love this! I was a driver in Cincinnati. I'd like to see this with a nice custom paint job, and an interior remodeling! If you remodel, please show it. I loved driving buses to brother.
Great looking bus. What's your intent with it, in service or collection? My dad drove for Toronto Transit Commission, so I grew up with New Looks and Classics. I drove charter for a while myself
You have the incurable bus illness that we all do! And do you really want to be cured?? Heck No!!! Nice bus, cool bus! And the message sign is also cool! I have a 1982 MCI MC9 40 foot Crusader II. I turned it into a tour bus. George F. Piedmont, SC
I rode that type of bus. I know someone who owns a few of these buses. A 1985 GMC 40-foot, 1989 TMC 35-foot, 1998 Nova Bus 35-foot and a 2000 35-foot with a different front end and instrument panel. The last three buses had the sport style steering wheel.
Best transit buses ever! I drove for the NYC Transit Authority in the 80s. We hated the old "Fishbowl" rattle traps but loved the RTS - such a smooth ride, just glided over bumps & potholes. Unfortunately they were all replaced with new hybrid buses which are terrible rattle traps, as bad as the Fishbowls. What are your plans for this bus, RV conversion?
As a current TAMU driver and someone who’s spent a lot of hours driving this unit. Just wondering what you’re gonna do with it? Are you going to convert it or anything?
Quick question which transit is that RTS retired from? It looks like a Fayettevill FAST RTS because of the stripe and number location but I am probably incorrect.
It’s crazy seeing the tires that shiny, good work
Thanks, Marshall!
Damn that thing is gorgeous all cleaned up!
Look forward to seeing you driving this great piece of machinery
Thank you for the overview of the RTS. I just learned about these buses two days ago, while looking for bus for an rv conversion.
I still love these buses. That iconic whine though!

Hope you’ll be able to get your hands on their millennium rts legend busses once they retire those Texas A & M! They’re still kind of new at least.
that's what i'm waiting for. I think between next year and 2023 those would retire.

They technically can go to 2027 considering how their Novas were almost 20 years old.
I remember this bus in puerto rico
I see all the TAMU Aggie Spirit drivers have found your video lol
Awesome! Wish my school had a program like TAMU!
LOVE IT❤❤❤
cool video - always like the RTS design - not a very common bus used in Canada.
Ooh, one of the window mullions in the interior, is kinda popped out. lol

Those rims look AMAZING! My jaw dropped. What are your plans for it? Is it going to be a hobby vehicle cleaning it up or road trip type of thing?
Just a hobby...I love driving buses.
You should try to get Orion v ! Those buses are mean !
I’m waiting to find one! One of my other favorites to drive!
I didn't know they a 2001 Rts Bus
Great
It looks like it was from the Texas A&M fleet.
What is the private owner registration / insurance process like?
That bus says San Antonio Via all over it.
You are the man glad to see someone with a GMC RTS those are the best buses ever made and it's just so hard to say goodbye to them
Can you change the sighn without the depot?
Oh she is pretty
As a current TAMU driver and someone who’s spent a lot of hours driving this unit. Just wondering what you’re gonna do with it? Are you going to convert it or anything?
Nope. Not converting it. Just keeping it as is. Most Insurance companies don't insure conversions. Just enjoying it at the moment.
