- Doing more plein air painting is one of my goals for my painting practice and for my mental and emotional health. Being in nature is one of the best ways for me to practice painting from life and I want to continue stretching my skills while enjoying the peacefulness of nature.
In this video I put together my plein air gouache and sketchbook kit, take a walk through nature and make a new friend with a duck! Come along with me as I practice plein air painting in the woods with my gouache painting supplies.

I’ve never done outdoor painting. I’d love to though. Need to plan that as I have kiddos and I’d rather not take them with me lol 😆. I may just have a new shopping challenge. Might need mini tubes as I don’t want to haul my big tubes with me.

Emily I loved that you plein air. I’m in Ohio as well. I live about an hour and a half away. It would be so cool to plein air with you sometime. The park was very pretty we’re your at. I tend to drive to Toledo to do my plein air. I just went to plein air event in Waterville. ❤
This was such a beautifully filmed video, and your artwork is gorgeous. You can buy lightweight camping chairs or stools that have carry straps so you'll always have a place to sit off the ground . Oh, and your dog is adorable!

Awesome video, and I have to say they both look great. You did nail the 2nd one though. Someone told me one time if you need a little help to snap a photo and then turn it to black and white on your phone. It helps I here. I have never had any formal training and love art, and I need to practice more myself. SO glad you was able to pursue the tings you love. I am supper interested in dry gouache and I need to try this out. I have been doing water colors lately. Can't wait to see more from you, it was fun to watch and very inspiriting.
