    The glue traps do work but it's common sense to duck tape then down so they don't move if a rat gets caught. That's how I do it. When they get stuck on the glue I can hear them struggling so I rush straight to them. I have this long stick with a sharp knife taped to the end of it so when I see them on the gluepads I start stabbing them to death. Then once I'm done I can hear the other rats that are hiding making weird noises to my killings.i do that to make an example of them so the others know what's coming to them. I've done this several times so I'm pretty sure the rats are terrified of me when they see me.

      glue traps are a terrible way to die. Please don't use them regardless if effective or not. The thought of being stuck and slowly dying from hunger and thirst is truely cruel. Glue traps need a ban. If you're going to kill an animal, do it fast, don't cause them to suffer.

He simply put peanut butter on the traps I already had spent almost $200 on and covered up one obvious hole on the roof. He didn’t move and look behind any appliances or under my sinks cabinets… Even though there was a ton of droppings apparently. They won’t clean up the poops and I don’t have the nerve to go into my bathroom to clean them up if I think there’s a mouse within inches of me. I can do a lot of gnarly things in life but not this. I fired them today and hired someone else. I am praying for better consultation tomorrow…

    THe Sticky traps work against dumb rats only. 95% of time they figure them out and avoid them. Victor traps set up standard way - they also avoid most of the time. What works for me flawlessly when I waged war against rats - I set up a carboard box with two holes that can line up against the wall from both ends. Rats run along the wall and have no problem entering a carboard box (They love openings and small spaces), which is not a foreign material to them. Inside - set up a Victor trap VERTICALLY with pedal facing towards the floor. Rats see no obstacle on the floor and feels safe trying to lick something tasty off the vertical surface of the pedal. This works the best! That smartest rat was so bold, it sometimes ran in my plain sight! And I saw it entered the box to hide from my view. the next second I heard Victor trap trigger, and BAM!

    11:33 the rat was nodding his head to see how “fast” the object(trap) was moving in relation to its surroundings in order to tell its distance. This is called the motion parallax effect in psychology which rodents are known for using since their field of vision is not directly in front of their heads

    • @marklimbrick
      @marklimbrick 6 месяцев назад

      Its pitch black.
      Rats have very poor vision anyway.
      They can't see what the trial camera sees. Its all smell and whiskers. It may be the draught from the pipe it is trying to locate, or the new smells from the traps and human contact.

    I'm not a Pest Control Tech. but since the glue and snap traps aren't working, I'd get some of those live capture box traps (like Roach traps, they check in, they don't check out) and place them on the platform and once they're trapped by the one-way gates, take the trap out and drop the trap in a 5 gallon bucket with enough water to drown the buggers, then finish sealing up the entry points - that cast iron stack needs to be rebuilt so it terminates outside to prevent sewer gasses from entering the home...all the vents do actually, you showed at least 1 other vent stack that didn't go through the roof line, that MUST be fixed ASAP...

I find a variety of different shapes you place[triangle, small circle, bait square-to-front] is genuinely enough to get a rat every time. Hi Twins!!!
    Wondering if the sewer rats are "susceptible" to the 50/50 flour/baking soda mix as are mice...
    I'd been having a problem with field mice getting into my laundry room (*guess they need to do wash now and again) - but I couldn't find their entry point ..
    Set up a bunch of JAWZ mousetraps in the laundry room AND mixed up a batch of the 50/50 which I placed in containers around the outside of the house and on the back porch.
    Caught about 10 mice in the traps over a 1 month time frame, but have not seen any "sign" nor caught any in the traps for over 6 weeks now....
    I can only surmise that any mice HEADING to "do their laundry" have stopped off at the 50/50 bar and then headed home to wherever they live with a raging belly ache ...
    I've not found any dead mice outside and have not had any "dead mouse smell" permeating my house.
    Also put containers with the 50/50 mix in my shop and garage where "activity" had been noticed...those areas have also been CLEAR for about 6 weeks now....
    I like using the 50/50 since we have a lot of animals on the farm as well as a healthy population of predatory birds (ravens, magpies, red tailed hawks, bald eagles and owls), coyotes and foxes. I don't have to worry about the wildlife getting hold of a mouse if it's had a "snack" of 50/50..

    Glue traps are not only cruel (they take much longer to kill than a quick snap), they are also ineffective. Just got over a mouse infestation no thanks to the glue traps that the landlord was fond of. The mice first managed to escape the glue traps, then learned to avoid them entirely. Snap traps eventually prevailed.

    A guy I used to work with was an exterminator, and he said they were trying to solve a rat problem in a supermarket that the rats were going under the supermarket shelves to get dry dog food. They made giant glue traps by rolling the glue on plywood, and placing these huge glue traps under the supermarket shelves(you know the hollow space between the bottom shelf and the floor), and the rats would find pieces of paper and place them on the glue making a path across the trap. They can be very clever.

    He guys great video, the go to trap in Uk for loft/ crawl spaces are made in India and called Black cat traps, they are a “ tomb stone “ type design . Unlike the victor traps the rats pull on the bait bar to get the bait and releases the kill bar. I’ve had far more success than traditional snap traps. You place a slice of apple or hard bait under bait spike and then fill bait pan with porridge or wild bird food or similar, the rat can feed on bait in pan on porridge etc with out activating the trap which overcomes neophobia. However as soon as they tug on hard bait they get hit, traps can be purchased from ultimate traps Ireland or on e bay , great trap had loads of success using these commercially

    when you could place that wooden plate around that pipe like that, you could make that plate into a box with a mesh or something seethrou, so the rats didnt have access to the attic/house, but gets you visual confirmation of point of entry.. second visit would just have been closing that off, and leave camera to see if any activity was trapped in the attic :) sorry for my bad english, not my main language ;)

    Should of put huge sticky boards on the bottom of that pipe. They’d stick on them as soon as they got to bottom

    If you have to use glue traps, the only brand that works for me is Victor’s glue board for rats. All other brands is a waste of time.

      glue traps are a terrible way to die. Please don't use them regardless if effective or not. The thought of being stuck and slowly dying from hunger and thirst is truely cruel. Glue traps need a ban. If you're going to kill an animal, do it fast, don't cause them to suffer.

      glue traps and poison are bother terrible ways to die. Not to be that animal person, but instant death would be kind.

      Also, if you use poison outdoors, that's dangerous. Pets could eat it, or another animal you wouldn't want to die. I dunno where you're located but even a curious toddler could find it. You never know outdoors.

    Glue trap is just useless. I got rat coming into the false ceiling every night at my work place. And only thing those glue board was able to do is tell me there are rats up there at night, because it leave it footprint on the glue.
    The 3 rats that I caught was done by me. With my fucking hands! I don't get it, the store is full of food even some bread. Why the hell did they go to the back room the second I forgot to close the damn door at night.

    RE: Victor traps you likely know .. they need to be tuned up , file down the sharp burrs & bend the trigger to a Hair trigger , oil the spring & the contact spot with veg oil . You know many of the other tricks , put them in a PVC pipe or a box to keep them from getting to the side & top best to get them in the front of the trap

      @danoneill2846 2 года назад +1

      If the traps are old polish up the contact area with fine sand paper

      I also pre-drill and drive a few short coarse-thread drywall screws up from the bottom to create “teeth” - when the bar comes down it slams them onto the screws. On rare occasions, they still manage to rip free, but usually leave a hunk of DNA behind. I learned in south Florida to always secure the trap with mason line to something too…the big rats can run off with them, and Ive seen other rats drag off a trap with a dead rat too.
      The trap-tuning you mentioned is critical. I put some peanut butter UNDER the trigger plate too…they can clean it off the top bait, but often nudge the plate trying to get the goodness under it.
