    As a reason user, that’s why I love having the traditional SSL style channel strips on every track, top down just like real life, starting with the GAIN lol, so no matter what I do with inserts, I can always push the gain “into” it at any time in process, works great ramming it into parallel comp too

    Lots of very helpful mixing info and fun production. Thank you! A suggestion: There’s so much constantly going on both sonically and visually in your videos that I feel like I need a sensory break after watching one. For 2-3 minutes I’m good, but by 10-15 it’s overload. I think some dynamic variance in this regard would go a long way to keep people watching, give them mental space to begin to digest the info and also encourage them to click through to more videos. Hope this helpful feedback. Looking forward to more of your content 🙏🏽

      I agree. I came to this video through another Plugin alley video, and I had the same complaint. Too much information on the same fast, monotonic pace, with too much visual information. By doing simpler videos you'd save much time in video editing, and lose less of your audience interest. I personally can't go to the end of this video.

    • @BobBailey1

      The question your video poses is familiar to me. I have the same mixing dilemma, however, one more vote on this. I gave the video a like and agree that the information is all very helpful, but did not continue on beyond the 4th minute. It's far too fatiguing to follow. Ultimately, only you know if you're losing viewers before the end, but it I'd think it would be interesting to A/B test the above advice.

    4:30 A gate can let source through when closed. Just turn the mix knob below 100% to let some of the original through.

    • @der_vur
      @der_vur Год назад

      Still not the same as an expander, some gates have the "floor", which mean the gate doesn't totally close. Again, still different from expander. Expander and gate are two different "instruments" and should be used differently depending on the scenario at hand, the expander is much more dynamic than a gate with floor or mix function.

    • @capoman1
      @capoman1 Год назад

      @@der_vur True. I was just pointing this out not as an expander type effect, but because 100% gated can sound unnatural when you make it silent, sorta like when you turn the de esser too low, sounds unnatural... So setting your gate, then mixing it below 100% will sound natural and not be so noticeable.

    Mate, I think the advice in your videos is solid. I've watched a good bunch of them. I struggle with them though. They're all like cheesy, clickbait-y sales pitches. I would never buy something sold in that style. Frankly, your content and the info you share is good enough to be successful in a different format.
    I want this to come off as a positive comment, something constructive. I want your channel to do well, I think it stands 100% better chance of doing well if you adjust the format. Stop leaning on internet sales tropes, we all lost our innocence on that shit a long time ago, everyone sees right through that, and it's just going to make people cynical.
    Wishing you all the best bro.

    Love your explanation what an Expander is! Never heard that before. Question: ZERO LATENCY mode on FABFILTERS EQ/PLUGINS? Is that OK? Does "Natural Phase" work for phase issues or does one really have to use linear mode that seems to KILL CPU? Thanks from Cyprus.
