The way I’ve always seen Gordon knowing is similar to how it’s handled in the Animated Series with him and Barbara. He subconsciously always knows. But because of how helpful Batman is in his mission to clean up Gotham, he never gets a confirmation. Since Batman is a vigilante, which is technically illegal, if he was ever taken in and subjected to a court hearing, Gordon would be brought in as a key witness and be forced to testify, due to how much work they do together. But, because he never has any direct confirmation that Bruce is Batman, he can always feign ignorance and not be caught out for lying under oath. When Jason says “Bruce” out loud for everyone to hear, that veil of ignorance drops. He now has direct confirmation that his suspicions are correct, so drops the act and just talks to Batman as Bruce the one time he’s able to. It’s an aspect of Gordon I always like seeing, because it shows that even though he’s the one clean man in Gotham, he’s still willing to bend the rules in his favor. And more importantly shows that he’s not an idiot, and working with a guy for over a decade will eventually lead to figuring out who’s under the mask.

Likewise, he never brings up the fact that he would figure out the rest of the identities of the Bat-Family because he respects them too much.

Well so basically what I was thinking is that there's no romantic thing between the two, I don't believe Roman cared that much for a lover, neither does Young. But that's why I think they may be relatives, not like sibilings, but maybe close cousins, so Black Mask can maybe protect her by having apartaments so close without people suspecting that much and Dr. Young could have his mask to remember someone she cares about. Or it's really all a coincidence and I'm just rambling here.

I think Jim didn’t know Bruce was Batman, at least not before Arkham City.
After all, if you listen to the police radio right at the beginning of Arkham city, you can actually hear Jim comment that Bruce is probably going to use his unlawful arrest to sue the police force and get himself a vacation. Maybe Jim is trying to protect Bruce’s identity by pretending that he is a one dimensional spoiled, rich kid, but that doesn’t seem like the kind of thing he would say if he knew Bruce was Batman at that time
I definitely think when Jason called Batman “Bruce“ Jim, being a smart detective, put two and two together. But I also think when he and Jim became allies, he stopped caring who Batman was.

The way I’ve seen joker being pissed about not dying in origins was less because he truly wanted to die, but because it didn’t make any sense to him. After he says “Why’d you do that?” He immediately points out that he’s the one who’s been trying to kill Batman, and after this he shoots the two henchmen beside him telling Batman that because they were bad people they deserved to die, before pointing the gun at himself. When Harvey questions Joker about why Batman would save him, Joker replies with “I was wondering the same thing myself”. Joker knows he deserved to fall to his death, he’s killed a multitude of people, he’s blown up a building, he’s caused a full scale breakout of a prison releasing a bunch of dangerous criminals on the street, and let loose 8 of the worlds most dangerous assassins on a city to kill one man, and that same man, who should be watching with satisfaction as he falls to his demise, decides to save him. The Joker can’t even reason that Batman couldn’t kill him as Bane was the one to launch him from the rooftop, So Jokers death wouldn’t even be Batmans fault.
Joker pointing the gun at himself could also be read as him testing Batman, as earlier he used up 4 bullets when threatening electrocutioner, and used the other 2 on the henchmen, this means he’s essentially pointing an empty gun at himself, so Joker knows he’s not going to die, but Batman still stops him from killing himself. Jokers essentially trying to rationalise why the hell a vigilante who he has tormented for a whole night, a vigilante who’s known to be brutal against criminals, would risk his life to save him.

When it comes to the number of bullets, even if we pretend that Joker didn't have time to reload between killing Lester Buchinsky and shooting his henchmen, his revolver (the Ace of Spade) is based on the Taurus Raging Bull, which I believe can contain up to 8 bullets, depending on the exact model.
But yeah, there is quite a lot of time between the 2 events, so I assume Joker reloaded.

I thought it was obvious the Joker wanted to die that entire game, his every action was to culminate in an ultimate crescendo that kills everyone he wants to. He tried twice to end it and seemed pissed, but that's when he goes to Blackgate with Harley and we see why. In his mind, Batman straight up tried to kill him based on his warped memories (even in the footage you see the scene of the shadow Batman picking up and throwing him in), he sees himself as the victim and wants revenge against the man who ruined him....however he was wrong? Instead of letting him die like he expected, he saves his life, twice. Now "why would you do that?" and his disbelief make sense, he legitimately believes Batman is a killer like him, so when he gets shown otherwise he becomes obsessed with proving that he is, indeed, a killer. Hence the whole fight orchestrated with Bane, he WANTED to be right, and he wanted to prove that Batman was exactly what he saw him as.

Batman has said throughout the comics that Jim could figure out his identity in a heartbeat if he wanted to because his detective skills are top of the line, but Jim doesn't because that would mean he would have to take Bruce in and Jim needs Batman so obviously he would never try to. I think Jack had those exact same patches form tnba hat prevents him from turning into the creeper, maybe the creeper did something that even Batman couldn’t handle somewhere after Arkham city that crossed the line and that’s why we never see him in knight.

Personally I think Jim found out after origins but revealed that to Batman at some point and they both know that he knows. Jim just never acknowledges it because he knows how important Bruce’s secret is but yeah i think Batman and Jim are closer than we think in this universe

As someone who is a FNaF fan but rarely keeps up with the books (which complicate the already complicated & super-vague lore) half of the stuff you read was just as surprising to me as it was you. lol
That said some of the evidence actually makes sense, mainly the stuff with the fear gas being from Scarecrow but it's really funny how half of the disclaimers are "this is clearly just some pop culture references" and "it'd be copyright infringement" and not outright contradictions that disprove the theory.
Granted most of it is just generic Batman stuff but it's still funny how well the theory fits...guess that one Freddy Fazbear mod for Arkham Knight can be considered "canon" 🤣

I’ve had a question for a while that I’ve been confused about. How the hell did Jason survive? He hardly ate, drank, or slept. He was constantly beaten and when he did eat, it was stuff like rats and sewer water. If the beatings don’t kill him, then the diseases should

So with Gordon Knowing who Bruce is, I think he DID know some time after Origins but he never said it because he probably didn't wanna risk saying it, the only time he says Bruce is in the elevator where nobody else can hear him say it, plus their interactions (In Knight) felt like he's known for a while
Maybe he knew as far back as Arkham Shadow, we'll see

Hi paladin your my favourite theory: after protocol 10 when the command centre of Tyger says all air units fall in cease attack and return to base immediately i i have theory there base is Arkham island because in a Arkham city story it says Tyger bought Arkham island as base of operations to watch Arkham city and patrol it

Joker wanting to die isn’t really a “theory” since it’s heavily implied throughout the story, especially after he gets saved and the scene with harley

I think Gordon stopped investigating who Batman is after Bats became his friend. There is a comic book related to Batman Who Laughs, where Batman is initially evil, killing his enemies with guns. In this comic, Gordon hunted a Grim knight and eventually figured out that Bruce was Batman. And in the whole DC universe, Gordon was on the right track from the very beginning. I know that these are completely different universes, but still Gordon is the same, right?
In addition, I believe that the commissioner does not know anything about the identity of Batman, so that he would not have to lie to people and to ensure trust with him.
    ( sorry for my English)

I love Batman: Arkham theories especially after all the years has passed I loved all these even though some can be hit or miss especially when it’s jus fun to think about the interesting things that could’ve happen during the events of all 4 games despite us not knowing or learning the truth about how accurate these theories truly are only for some but I love this I hope this becomes its own series like the Disturbing Details series. FNAF and ARKHAM share a universe would be fkin awesome crossover!

I think the court of owls being behind some of the shady stuff with arkham city and the dissapperances of cyrus and anarky is a really cool theory especially with the arkham origins easter eggs. I think bats fought them before Arkham asylum because i still think there is a massive time gap between origins and asylum because cmon it doesnt take like 3 years to hire 3 robins and 1 Batgirl

  • @player_lv430

I always assumed that Batman told Gordon after Origins. After all, Gordon is the one cop who can be trusted. Every other time the two talk they can't bw more personal. There's other people who could overhear. Being alone in the elevator allows Gordon to say Bruce's name without consequences.

To be fair I always was annoyed by the inclusion of a fear gas-like compound to torture kids in FNAF cause it reminded me too much of Scarecrow. So maybe there is a connection there lmao.
But Arkham games started way before FNAF, so thanks for poking fun at that last theory. 😄❤

  • @MrJAG
    @MrJAG 2 месяца назад

I wouldn't call this a "theory" exactly, but it is just what I thought was going to happen when I got to the Ace Chemicals mission, because of the rumour going around that Batman dies (the plaque on the statue that came with an edition of the game) and when the game starts Gordon even says Batman dies:
When you are at the part where Alfred is pleading with Batman to leave Ace Chemicals, while Batman seems to be sacrificing himself to lower the blast radius of Crane's bomb, when Joker does the "Miss Me?" and shoots Batman, I assumed that is the way Batman "died"
So when it does the "3 days earlier" thing, we are playing from the ACTUAL start of the game, and that we end up in Ace Chemicals, as the final mission, and we do that mission, and then Batman ends up actually sacrificing himself in Ace Chemicals.
