Howard Miller Grandfather Clock Chiming issue

The chiming hammers started out OK for 4 sections of music, then in the last 2 sections the lift lever for striking lifted up a bit which prohibited the last two chiming hammers to reach the rod. Please help explain why the lift lever lifted a bit. Thanks for any help!

amateur clock repairman here. the clock likely needs a cleaning. i had this issue on a clock i was repairing recently as well. The likely issue is that all the gunk on the cams that control the length of the chime sequence and trigger the strike are all gummed over/up, thus causing an inability for the clock to stop the chime sequence. taking it to a local clock shop will likely fix the problem, it should just be a simple clean, oil, and adjust.

Either needs a cleaning or it’s w heights are so heavy that it breaks through the Westminster chime cycle.

My grandparents have 2 of these Howard miller clocks they have one in the front entry way that has the triple chime on it from I believe 2004 and they have this one that has this exact same mechanism and chimes on it in the kitchen/ family room.
The one (shown here) is mine but I leave it at their house turned off because it’s legit right next to the tv. I need to bring it back from their house. Someday
