If they wanted it to be a believable ship, they would of never included a hot tub in a passenger ship, that whole area could of been split between another room + bathrooms.
Very strange to think this game was announced/revealed when I started Secondary/High School, and is still in development by the time I left earlier this year. I just can't believe that much time has passed, in a way it's almost like the game 'grew up' or progressed with me over the 6 years :)
I Just don't like the idea of walking through the crews quarters to enter a luxury area and worse to access the "only" bathroom. Maybe they should have lengthened it another four to six feet to add a full guest bath (& master bath?) and a private lift? A better idea is to have a private lift that passes through the "cargo/garage" space where it can stop to access a full guest bath, sauna, hot tub (moved too, with a window) and a galley? ;-) That would make it a luxury ship (charter?)
Well with the size of the shower/toiler cubicles, it wouldn't have to be any bigger really, especially when just having private facilities is a luxury. They can just add one for the master bedroom, where Tac pointed out, and another for the other guests near the hop tub (plenty of room just outside the hot tub, there the corner nook is with the fish tank). They should also get rid of the internal window for the master bedroom, it's unnecessary and a bit odd as Tac said. There's also plenty of room for a private lift, or they could improve the one that goes to the cargo and work a better entrance there. They can easily add some escape pods built into the beds. Finally the chairs around the poker table could always slide forward like some of the pilot seats, which would sort that issue.
@@xparti interesting question. I wouldn't be surprised if that have to get that the same way as players though, considering the amount of detail they're putting into everything
People contemplating the placement of a bathroom in an $423 ship featured in a game that has been in development for 6 years. Now I've seen everything.
"Luxury Ship for VIP Transport": 1. You have to get your VIPs to a rather small elevator at the front or trough your industrial-style cargo bay on a even smaller elevator. 2. Assuming you do the logical thing and go trough the front, the first section is 100% the same as in other constellations except the Aquila which has a different (supposedly better) nose. Then you walk trough the crew quarters, where the folks might be eating, sleeping, bragging about how they smashed the last pirates or simply take a dump. 3. Once inside, there are 2 single beds and a double bed... but six seats on the window and the conference table. Math aside, I get that Chris and Sandy might share a bed after a business meeting, but it's not exactly usual. 4. None of the rooms seems to have a shower/toilet, meaning the passengers who got filled up at the bar will have to go back to the crew quarters. 5. If you think the last two points are weird: Chris said during Citizencon that those things are required to do every now and then (but not hardcore survival / sim). 6. The sacrificial Lamb supposed to crew the Snub will have to run trough the passenger-section, open the gate to hell... err... the industrial looking rear. 7. The shield generators are located near the hot tub... gonna be fun when you have to interrupt your roleplaying don corneo with his ladies to fix the shields. Personally, I don't RP nor do I really like digital luxury... I'm more into Ships like what the BMM or Carrack are supposed to be, but considering it's got more than 2x the price of the Taurus and is actually limited, I really feel like CIG should give it some more love. Also, most Games would get away with it, but considering all the polishing passes, reworks and what not we get as justification for further delays, CIG simply can't wave something half-done like that IMO.
1) limited entrance is no different than plane boarding where everyone enters single file. Just means to expect some time waiting to load up. 2) While true about vips entering a junky area first, this is no different than boarding first class on any plane that isn't the a380. Some times, the kitchenette is right at the door, so you walk by the little prep area while walking back to your seat. 3) The beds would be an extra charge for me. You get the seats, but having a bed for the long haul flight is extra. Similar to a380s that have a couple of first class apartments for sleep in. 4/5) This is definitely one thing that was remiss, but again, there are times where you are walking into more utilitarian sections of the plane to get to the bathroom on flights now. Or perhaps npcs don't need to take bathroom breaks like the players. 6) I view the snub in this instance as perhaps more of a joyride ship. Something you charge extra for someone to go near a gas cloud or something. A paired down version of the 85x on the 890 jump. 7) Ship isn't about combat. Your vips are probably not going to like being in a dog fight anyway. Or if they are, won't be in the hot tub as they'll be told to strap into their seats. VIP transport is supposed to make a lot of money. However, you have to earn a level of reputation before you'll get the ability to fly them. This is where the starliner comes in to get your reputation up. This game needs a smaller starliner though.
@@JuffoWup78 Uhhh, any plane with first class, you enter into first class cabin. I have not once seen a plane where first class has to enter through the coach department. Upon entry you can even tell the pilot about your dinner reservations at the restaurant near the Eiffel tower and he needs to put his foot down on the flight. That is just something that rich first class passengers will always want to do. If you are entering through the crew quarters like you do in the SC VIP ships, then you cannot bug the captain about his flight paths.
@@JuffoWup78 I don't think passenger planes are a design equivalent. They should be looking at ship designs, in this case a crewed luxury yacht. I assume that's where the inspiration originally came from to some degree. The snub fighter is very much like a ship's tender. Even relatively modest sized yachts will have an ensuite for the master cabin for instance, and once you get over about 70ft you'll get an ensuite for each cabin. They clearly aren't aiming for realism with the design, because you wouldn't get a ship so small, crewed, without ensuites, with a hot tub and with what's apparently a combined bar/galley.
Diamond glass? Lol that cant be real.. aluminium glass is the strongest form of glass right now and its realistically several times stronger than steel, diamond glass simply doesnt exist and can never exist, 3d printing? 3d printing cant simulate the required heat and pressure necessary to create diamond let alone make it clear diamond. At best zirconia is their most likely material and while that is used in the dental industry as a next gen prosthetic its not as strong as you might think, for if any object is made so incredibly tough the laws of physics demand it be brittle, which is why we build megastructures out of steel and aluminium instead of concrete, if you want it to be durable it must have flexibility, not just sheer toughness.
No escape pods for the VIPs plus they have to share a manky toilet with the crew? a couple of big oversights. Plus they said the master bedroom shouldn't be outdone by the guess rooms.. OK they guests get fish tanks and televisions.. master gets neither. Also agree about the transition. The original had better quality materials throughout. Needs some fixing like the cutlass did.
Plenty of room to add a couple of toilets (one for the master, and a second for other guests) And they can easily put escape pods in the beds. As for other luxury's, they should get rid of the internal window for the master bedroom, and can put a big TV and whatever else is needed there for them.
Another alternative is to remove the P-52 Merlin and restructure the area for a Master suite (away and private) with a full bath, ect... I see that my alternative (above) won't work so just make a guest entrance with a half bath. Take some from the original master bedroom for a full guest bath. Don't forget to park your 85X in the bay. I see it as a private meeting place for "negotiations" and celebrating a great deal and as a Bachelor Pad.
The missing bathrooms and escape pods seem to me like a disconnect between artists and designers. Storage spaces are supposed to come a bit later. The Artist left room for that. I have the Phoenix too but I will wait until it becomes a more believable ship before I take it out. Until then its the 600 Touring and the 890 Jump for me.
@@Smasher77th The distance between Chair and Table is due to the Animation Metrics. Players and NPCs need to move to the Chair and Sit without clipping through the Table. Many Ships look like they are made for Giants because of the unusual wide walkways. Look at the Cuttlass for example. But there is hardly any way around that constraint. You could still play Holographic Card Games on that table though.
oh they have 4 escape pods (The crew beds are the pods) but what really bothers me is the lack of decent entrance for the passangers, now your esteemed guests have to come in trough the crew quarters or garage.
Whoever did the phoenix didn't study actual yachts much evidently, because crew quarters and engineering stuff is ALWAYS hidden/concealed where the ship's passengers can't see it without actually trying. Crew quarters are also a lot smaller. The hot tub is a common feature on large yachts, but again, badly implemented. Why in the hell is there a passenger lounge as if it were a luxury commuter? It's a 'coastal cruiser' or 'day' yacht essentially. The bar is spot on. Good job with that. The wood flooring is not bad but there needs to be more of it. There's only one bathroom, and it's for crew. There's no ensuite for passengers. There's absolutely no signs of customization. For a 30+ meter yacht to not have some level of customization, or even a ship's decor theme, is asnine. The luxury section should have a separate, larger entry/egress solution. The bay with the Archimedes dock is also badly done, and should be just as nice as the other luxury sections of the ship. Not as decorated sure, but still. There are no exterior lounge areas. On a yacht there's ALWAYS at least one, usually more. On this maybe an extending platform with folding furniture or something, but still. Lastly, no yacht maker in their right mind, or even slightly bent, would convert a cargo ship into a yacht. Yachts are purpose built, heavily customized per commissioning buyer's request, and if they did do a yacht conversion of a cargo ship, it'd be laughed out of every marina on the planet.
Its luxury design is definately a step up from the 600i, but this ship doesn't make sense layout wise correct. The master cabin needs to be swapped for a luxury bathroom, the snub needs ripping out and replacing with a master bedroom (with rear window), and the crew quarters needs a overhaul to bring it in line with the overall aesthetics of the ship. Needs windows on the guest cabins too
I have unironically been looking forward to this. I remember seeing your ship inspection all those years ago befow the game was even released. How far we have come........................
Just like to say that I was strongly thinking over the last few days about adding this ship to my fleet, after watching your review I am now the proud owner of this beauty. So thanks for making this presentation and helping me put a big hole in my wallet :)
I have loved your reviews and other recordings immensely for years. Excellent job on all your content and your content is superb - straight up for the common man. Only real comment, you of course know the table at the train/first class area and other odd spacing is due to the metrics of the animation system to prevent "messes" when NPC or even PC are moving about.
I get space bed and breakfast vibes with this one! I definitely think there should be a door access for the bar/conference room area to outside so your customers don't have access to the crew quarters. Would be great for housing tourists and able to plot out tourist destinations to transport your customers.
Theoretically, the "window" can be made from a tougher material than the rest of the hull, so protecting it against enemy weapons, doesn't necessarily make sense except for weapons using photons somehow.. But they could just make it a switch that turns off transparency for that section of the hull and that's that.
Saw this video and had to wait until the anniversary sale to purchase it. However myne is a bit different than the one you reviewed. For instance, the pilot and co-pilot seat face backward when no one is seated in them. My pool is in but no water. And my snub was above the cargo bay lift. Thus I reckon when it comes on line if one has cargo they won't be able to take off or land the snub.
Gameplay: talking about battle plans? Negotiations? How is that even slightly useful or practical? 99% of that is going to happen on something like discord, except for hardcore RP players...
To be honest, I see this ship more as a mobile base for an exploration team. Find a remote planet. Land. Use the crew area as a working area and the executive area as an off duty lounge. There's enough space in the cargo bay for a rover I think. It just gives you more lounge space compared to an Aquilla or Andromeda.
I think I figured out how to fix the crappy bar across the cockpit. Just have a bunch of screens on the bar that show camera feeds on the front. There could even be a boot up sequence for immersion purposes
To me the Cargo bay seems almost the same size as the other constellations. I personally would like the other constellations except maybe the Taurus to have a central area above the cargo bay. And they could put it in like the module system where I can have different things in the central area that fit the role of the ship.
Yeah, I just can't stand that cluttered Andromeda bridge and crew quarters. Was really hoping they'd rework that. The original Phoenix bridge looks really good and has a very smooth Star-Treky feel. But alas, it seems I'll be melting mine during the anniversary sale :(
It really does bother me that they didn't think to add a passenger bathroom... its not like there isn't enough room. The VIP room ough to have a writing desk or something aswell. I do like the small cabins though, I wish more ships had em
See to me that's realistic. The front is the crew area, and it wouldn't make sense to put the same level of luxury into it. They should add a guest lift, so the passengers don't have to go through that area, then add things like a couple of toilets in the back, and their own escape pods.
Tried it yesterday. Had a 10 minute long quantum jump so i chilled in the back sitting next to the window looking outside. This game still finds ways to blow my mind.
i actually like the idea of a shift in style, for example if you want to escort some rich mofo, are you gona have him sleeping in your barracks? or if you have guests over to talk a deal do you want them to drink tea right next to your missile controls? yea it doesn't make much sense, but if you have temporary people on your ship, the change in style immediately shows where there supposed to be. just a silver lining
The mission of the Presidents, Secret Service attachment is to keep him/her safe, like many private security companies. Thus, despite the firepower it's there to provide time to escape.
Am I the only one that noticed that your showing this off in the PTU and the frames look amazing?! And you all Phoenix owners no sex in the champagne room! lol I just want to let you know, I love your Ship review videos! you're the only real SC youtuber that I'm always anticipating to watch! the way you talk about every ship and go over every small little detail makes watching so much more enjoyable because I am the same way :). It not always about how strong or how many guns a ship has. Keep up the good work TAC!!
They actually removed the point defence turret. It's later planned to be replaced with a remote turret, but there is nothing there at the moment. The same with the powerplant, it was supposed to have a bigger size, but now it has a "racing-class" one. I melted mine sadly.
You actually sad about that? :P I am looking to melt mine during the sale and grab something better tbh. It sucks as I loved the concept of the connie phoenix but I think it has started skimping too much where it matters.
I own one. That said; the ship has a significant amount of issues and is in need of redesign. As you mentioned, the transitions are odd. The table in the crew area is bugged in 3.7. No escape pods or bathrooms for passengers. Hot tub still not in though it is in the Origin larger ships. But that’s all RP stuff and, in the end, doesn’t mean much other than it degrades the visuals. The main issue is they gimped this ship after so many bought it. It had the most powerful power plant of any Connie and they reduced it. They swapped out the missiles and put in lowly S1’s. The snub fighter can’t undock. The fact is that, right now, this ship is among the weakest of any in its size range statistically and struggles (without two turret gunners) to take down much beyond small fighters. This is a classic bait and switch ship where folks paid for one thing the. Devs gimped then into another.
The floor trap door, should have auto gates that will come up, when the door is open, so others will not fall in. Remove the Capt's wall window glass so no one can see inside while his room door is close.
In the original concept art for the Phoenix, the "luxury" aspect reached all the way to the pilot stations, which looked very nice themselves. I do think they should have used that same nice material through the whole ship like that concept art. I'll be a bit angry if all that goes into the "Emerald" version, and the Phoenix got short changed just so they could sell another ship. They'd never do something like that, of course. :)
I'd say, sacrifice the cargo area. Add more bedrooms, a better master bedroom downstairs, and bathrooms. Don't be afraid to make this into a full fledged passenger ship, like the Genesis Starliner. If you want a roverr, buy an Andromeda or an Aquila.
TBH totally honest, the ship is a mess and a fail. The Aquila is miles above this, the Aquila is also now faster than the 600i too. The Phoenix does NOT have a Point Defense, they may add one at a later date, i wouldnt hold your breaths though. That hot tub is pathetic, just take that out and replace with a scanning table and also make one of those bedrooms into a toilet area. This whole ship just doesnt feel right, even the 600i ends up being alot better. The ship does not have a role so is totally pointless, you can get alot more for your cash on another ship but id say get the Aquila. You can get the Aquila by CCU'ing too with LTI.
@Valerie that shit is IRRELEVANT. This is the problem with paying money for these fucking ships. People get emotionally attached to the price tag that doesnt matter.
perfect ship for hanging out at poptown and buying up party favors XCDCX, just remember some of the bedrooms do not save when you log. Smugglers ship with the protected cargo area, combined with some hottie PAN AM type flight attendants.
Would be nice if they could add in a few mini games, i see ships like this as crew transport ships to cap ships. Meet org crew at core station with transport then go out to where ever cap ship is to reduce fuel costs.
This is really cool. Been keeping an eye on SC since the Kickstarter and I've always enjoyed the ship designs. Can't wait til we get space legs in ED, those ships will be a sight for sure. Corvette, Cutter and Anaconda are significantly larger than SC ships, so it will be exciting to see once we get space legs next year. Guess I'll be playing X4 to hold me over till then.
I am cautiously optimistic with ED, it is still one of my favourite VR experiences. But everything they do ends up feeling a little off the mark and just not quite polished enough. Still beggers cannot be choosers in the space sim genre, because by god do we have a dearth of games.
@@lostsanityreturned ED and SC aren't all that different. In fact ED will probably be right up there in terms of gameplay and features by the time SC is officially released. They went at it very differently. ED gave us a good flight model, ship designs and game map with few features and gameplay options. SC seems to be going all in. ED feels more like a very well polished alpha that keeps getting new content implemented and working up to a final product. Where SC feels like a pre alpha game trying to throw all eggs in one basket before any type of release is made. I feel they'll probably be more on par with each other by the time SC is final... But maybe not. I think ED fans want something that Frontier never intended to develope. Frontier wanted to just give rebirth to a 3 decade old game and fans wanted something more modernized.
@@christianhaley4816 Disagree with a lot of your points (as someone who plays and follows the development of both) but I won't go into that here. Both games are targeting very different audiences and will have drastically different gameplay appeals.
@@lostsanityreturned I don't think so. I believe they will be quite similar when they both reach their final ideal. We'll see though. Then again, we may never see SC or ED at it's full potential. Quite frankly, I think ED has far more potential than SC will ever have. It all comes down to what the developers are willing to do with that potential. I'm excited to see both honestly.
You can definitely tell this concept came up before they really had their ship design techniques down. The layout of this ship is not really conducive to a luxury ship, the main entrance being in the crew area, which still has the utilitarian look isn't exactly what you'd want your high class passengers to see when they first come onboard. I own one of these, I originally bought it b/c even though it was a luxury themed ship it was still the most powerful variant of the connie. I've mostly held on to it out of nostalgia and they're really aren't any other jack of all trade type ships in this same class but I will likely end up melting or CCU'ing this. It's a great looking ship but I'm not sure ferrying around 1%'ers is a gameplay style that suits me.
The competition parts aspect bothers me too... so rather than having strictly better components now it will have better components that wear out faster according to reverse the verse. But its main purpose is to ferry people... so... That just makes it more expensive at doing that for very little reason.
Alright... remove the hot tub and replace with two small but nice bathrooms, condense the double seat area with the table a bit and remove the first seating area so you can use the saved space for another room, modify the bar into a kitchen/bar, remove the state room entirely, add another small room or two, use the extra room for a small theater area, add an entrance that leads directly to the passenger quarters, add a medical area behind the passenger area, add space for consumable storage (i.e. food, water), and extend at least SOME of the design concept of the passenger cabin to the rear of the interior of the ship. I won’t be getting it in its current form
They are going to have to modify the master suite to add a toilet as well as adding a general purpose toilet outside of the crew quarters. I am currently on the fence about buying the ship. It's nice and I love the Connie; however, the 600i touring edition might just be the better alternative. Thoughts anyone?
I see a lot of comments about the bathroom, and I'm a newer backer but unless I missed something I could care less about bathrooms and such. It looks nice, great, otherwise to me it's a waste of time that I'd like to see redirected to get a more complete core game first....then later rework goofy stuff like bathrooms and hot tubs.
You know you mentioned how it looked like 2 different ships glued together...i think the first part is military and the rear is luxury transport...in my opinion i think its meant for both military and civilian transport. But thats just my two cents :)
Realistically I would want seperate toilets for the crew and rich passengers, but I do understand that one toilet is more than enough on an ingame ship. The only other game I can think of where ingame pooping is a thing would be ARK, where it is used for comic relief bacause it happens at random times(or when you press a button)
Riesenfriese I agree, what luxury or charter ship IRL has crew members walking through passenger areas on their way to share the toilet with the passengers?
Great design really good is in my opinion the change in design from crew area which is very simple to the guest area. Also that there are Seats for the Guests for more lets say turbulent Times. As other people state there are 4 points which are bad to stupid. 1. entrance of the guests through the crew area --> Solution: Make the Lift to the cargoarea not transparent and that it goes all the way down to the ground so the guests can access from there and only see the cargohold if they want to. 2. no Bathroom for the guests. An ship like that should be designed that the guests only on rare occasions come to see the crew area and any critical systems. ---> Solution smaller hottube and an luxury bath instead. 3. The crew has no accaspoint to the cargoarea without nerfing the guests---> Solution none. 4. Acces to the fighter only from guest area --> maybe the Fighter isn't needed anyway with an ship in that role so use the Space for something different maybe additional cargo space or an recreational room with an pooltable or something for sports.
You know what star citizen is missing? Some kind of small, unarmed, boxy shaped space shuttle so the ship doesn't have to make planetfall to pick up or drop off two or three VIPs and one assistant, or a couple of diplomats or up to four senior company officers etc.. Fit it with some of those fancy seats for the passengers and large windows on the sides and in the middle of the ceiling would be very impressive, with carpet on the walls, floor and around the viewports (separate one person cockpit). That lift is dangerous and would never be approved in real life, someone's going to get sued if a child or other passenger falls down the hole when it's open (am I being too picky?). The cargo area should be used as bay for the aforementioned shuttle, with the luxury decor extended down from the upper deck, and a small concierge lectern to greet the guests.
My understanding is that they haven't finished and only slapped the front section together to give us a newer release. Also, isn't there a BR behind the bar.
Feel like they could work with the space they have now, I hope they make the space more thought out, seems silly for passengers to enter from front in crew area and drink alcohol and everyone go use the porta potty up front
Another problem with this ship is, because it doesn't have docking collars like other Constellations, there is no good way to bring a VIP on board while in space. Are you meant to bring them up through the dark and damp garage/cargo hold or up the crew lift? Both have physics issues while in zero g and aren't very luxurious, I think. They should have added a "luxury Argo" instead of the snub fighter, one that could dock in the back, giving guests direct access to the nicer areas.
::question:: I know that this is a random question but how many people can log in and log out in construction phoenix ??? I ask this because on the website they are saying 4 max crew but ther is 3 more (total 7) beds .How many, 7 or 4 max . Please answer !
the constellation phoenix is great, they made a good work for the rework BUT for me, it is not enough. if we compaire to the mustang, we can say the mustang had a true rework for the ship but not for the constellation phoenix. i think contellation pheonix was on the roadmap just for shown "hey we did a job for star citizen" but its nothing compaire to other work still need to do. Personaly, i dont care about the constellation pheonix, my ship is the hammerhead (lti) but i'm a little sad when i see they wasted time on this rework.
I would have remove the hot tub and use that room for a dance floor. RSI should make it, so the players can add and remove ships items as they see fit just like in space engineer's game.
Kinda wish the missile racks on the andromeda and pheonix folded up during warp, those pidly things look like they'd snap off at the slightest wake of hyperspace..
I think the reason the front and back is so different is because the crew (workers) dont deserve luxury while the people in the back rich people do and i bet the crew aren’t allowed in the back because they are peasants and don’t deserve to witness such beauty
Everyone needs to understand this ship is like Airforce 1 not a cruise ship. Airforce 1 is not high luxury throughout the entire ship. Airforce 1 has a bed for the president but doesnt have any beds for the rest of the personal on the jet. I agree the toilet and shower issue should be fixed by putting a shower and toilet attached to the main room. However Airforce 1 has only 1 shower in the presidents room and im pretty sure there is flight crew, security, staff, media....i guess the president will just have to get out of his room... So you get what i mean. The Connie Phoenix is an Airforce 1 equivalent and a pretty good one at that. People just need to stop thinking about it as a cruise ship. The 890J is the cruise ship and the Genesis is the public transport. The Phoenix is the singular important person transport like a CEO / ORG leader / President
If they wanted it to be a believable ship, they would of never included a hot tub in a passenger ship, that whole area could of been split between another room + bathrooms.

The crew quarters are less luxurious so you can savor the inequality of the classes. Upstairs -downstairs.
I Just don't like the idea of walking through the crews quarters to enter a luxury area and worse to access the "only" bathroom.
Maybe they should have lengthened it another four to six feet to add a full guest bath (& master bath?) and a private lift?
A better idea is to have a private lift that passes through the "cargo/garage" space where it can stop to access a full guest bath, sauna, hot tub (moved too, with a window) and a galley? ;-)
That would make it a luxury ship (charter?)
Im just imaginig a crew member running through a room full of half naked rich people to get to the merlin :D

This game needs a smaller starliner though.
this is what happens when artists try to design a functional piece of anything sadly. looks cool but not practical..
He said all of that in the video yes it needs work we have clarified that NOW SHUT THE FUCK UP KAREN
13:20 In lore, the (diamond) glass is actually tougher than the metal hull.
Yes, it's just several times more expensive per given unit of measure.
It is to an extent. It can't compare to armoured plating that can be much thicker than the "Glass".
Transparent metal is a thing in real life too. www.popsci.com/technology/article/2011-01/new-metallic-glass-toughest-strongest-material-yet
Should of made the ship from glass then lol
If you ever need a crewmember (Engineer, co-pilot, navigator, etc), let me know!
It’s been a while, glad to see you back at doing ship review again
Dude work on not having a full essay in the comments nobody has time for that
Its luxury design is definately a step up from the 600i, but this ship doesn't make sense layout wise correct.
The master cabin needs to be swapped for a luxury bathroom, the snub needs ripping out and replacing with a master bedroom (with rear window), and the crew quarters needs a overhaul to bring it in line with the overall aesthetics of the ship.
Needs windows on the guest cabins too
The windows on the executive quarters are probably electrochromic glass. They can become transparent to totally opaque at the touch of a button.
I have unironically been looking forward to this. I remember seeing your ship inspection all those years ago befow the game was even released. How far we have come........................
much of an improvement of that orange color scheme it had before, looks like a Presidential or VIP plane now
Just like to say that I was strongly thinking over the last few days about adding this ship to my fleet, after watching your review I am now the proud owner of this beauty. So thanks for making this presentation and helping me put a big hole in my wallet :)
I love these reviews I've been following for a long long time!!
Nice to see you back!
The spaces are made wider for NPC pathing to and fro. It was explained in the RTV episode for this ship.
personally I would have extending tables or chairs to help maintain the illusion. Have it be a part of the sitting animation.
That section looks like an apartment to me. Huge windows. Very pretty ship😎
I've been talking about using the Phoenix as a space brothel for years. Finally, 100% the space brothel I wanted.
You know NPC VIP transport is a planned mechanic?
People always seem to forget passenger transport gameplay. Luxury isn't just for RP, you can demand higher prices.
Some AI will demand an LX ship.
Tactical Advance
OK fair enough then.
Keep up the good work. 🍻
Hardcore RP will be the name of the game with all the big dogs who've invested into big ships.
I do like the small cabins though, I wish more ships had em
the passenger bathroom could be in the mouth of anyone who asks about it.
Agreed CIG went lazy with the front half of the ship
See to me that's realistic. The front is the crew area, and it wouldn't make sense to put the same level of luxury into it. They should add a guest lift, so the passengers don't have to go through that area, then add things like a couple of toilets in the back, and their own escape pods.
@@MrEsphoenix well put
Tried it yesterday. Had a 10 minute long quantum jump so i chilled in the back sitting next to the window looking outside. This game still finds ways to blow my mind.
Were you in someone elses ship while they were flying?
A friend was flying yeah. Realtime travelling never seizes to amaze me :D
@@Avean thought so as if you quantum you cant leave the pilots seat and walk around your ship while quantum continues.
You can. You can exit the seat and quantum continues. But if you enter the seat again it stops.
@@Avean actually I just tested it and you can now leave you seat and get back in to your seat, and quantum now longer stops. Progress!
i actually like the idea of a shift in style, for example if you want to escort some rich mofo, are you gona have him sleeping in your barracks? or if you have guests over to talk a deal do you want them to drink tea right next to your missile controls? yea it doesn't make much sense, but if you have temporary people on your ship, the change in style immediately shows where there supposed to be. just a silver lining
what is sleeping in this game, logging out?
Your review of the first freelancer was the first time I heard about star citizen! Seems ages ago!
no notification..yet early
constellation pheonix V2: the ship to enjoy with friends and party all night
The mission of the Presidents, Secret Service attachment is to keep him/her safe, like many private security companies.
Thus, despite the firepower it's there to provide time to escape.
You could maybe use the wide open floor as a dance floor.
Am I the only one that noticed that your showing this off in the PTU and the frames look amazing?!
And you all Phoenix owners no sex in the champagne room! lol
I just want to let you know, I love your Ship review videos! you're the only real SC youtuber that I'm always anticipating to watch! the way you talk about every ship and go over every small little detail makes watching so much more enjoyable because I am the same way :).
I am looking to melt mine during the sale and grab something better tbh.
Also due to the lack of arma in-game it blows up in 50 seconds. I am sure once arma comes in the ship will be buffed. Keeping my one.
The floor trap door, should have auto gates that will come up, when the door is open, so others will not fall in. Remove the Capt's wall window glass so no one can see inside while his room door is close.
I think they did an amazing job of the ships exterior and ships middle...
Now all they have to do is actually fix the front, back and cargo area...
You can get the Aquila by CCU'ing too with LTI.
agreed, you could use the hot tub as a toilet though...pure luxury
@Valerie that shit is IRRELEVANT. This is the problem with paying money for these fucking ships. People get emotionally attached to the price tag that doesnt matter.
Great to hear that voice, been awhile!
perfect ship for hanging out at poptown and buying up party favors XCDCX, just remember some of the bedrooms do not save when you log.
You could use the ship to run a transport service
Great ship to charge for Booze cruises! (although just having One toilet could be a problem if people start puking...)
I won’t be getting it in its current form
it is (imo) missing the VIP washroom, unless the VIP'S have to use the crew one
They are going to have to modify the master suite to add a toilet as well as adding a general purpose toilet outside of the crew quarters. I am currently on the fence about buying the ship. It's nice and I love the Connie; however, the 600i touring edition might just be the better alternative. Thoughts anyone?
agreed, a ship that is trying to fill as many roles as this one is is likely going to fail to fill any of them.
Is there a star citizen mode which is single player creative where you can spawn anything you want?
Nope
Its an art piece. Enjoy it for the looks not the flaws. Maybe some day there will be a game to go with the art simulator.
Realistically I would want seperate toilets for the crew and rich passengers, but I do understand that one toilet is more than enough on an ingame ship.
The only other game I can think of where ingame pooping is a thing would be ARK, where it is used for comic relief bacause it happens at random times(or when you press a button)
Riesenfriese
I agree, what luxury or charter ship IRL has crew members walking through passenger areas on their way to share the toilet with the passengers?
Great review 🤙
Pretty sure this thing is more like a luxury "private jet" than air force one.
This ship does have so many fundamental design flaws that it I wished CIG had hired an interior architect.
4. Acces to the fighter only from guest area --> maybe the Fighter isn't needed anyway with an ship in that role so use the Space for something different maybe additional cargo space or an recreational room with an pooltable or something for sports.
thanks for the video. not sure how the gameplay loop will be with luxury transport.
I think they should have added another small bedroom and then a bathroom/shower combo in the back.
at time 1:45 you say they open i still have yet to see that they work even in the now 3.5 update
Eeehh I'll stay with a 600i thank you
This, or the 600i Touring wouldn’t be wholly out of place as an Org’s version of an Air Force One, I would think.
The space where the table and chairs are, should have a wall with a door on it.
Perfect flagship for a druglord. Space Escobar or El Interstellar Chapo.
I want one!
Feel like they could work with the space they have now, I hope they make the space more thought out, seems silly for passengers to enter from front in crew area and drink alcohol and everyone go use the porta potty up front
This is the most ADD ship tour I've ever seen in my life
Another problem with this ship is, because it doesn't have docking collars like other Constellations, there is no good way to bring a VIP on board while in space.
They need to make the bathtub converted from bathroom/toilet so it makes sense
the constellation phoenix is great, they made a good work for the rework BUT for me, it is not enough. if we compaire to the mustang, we can say the mustang had a true rework for the ship but not for the constellation phoenix. i think contellation pheonix was on the roadmap just for shown "hey we did a job for star citizen" but its nothing compaire to other work still need to do.
Personaly, i dont care about the constellation pheonix, my ship is the hammerhead (lti) but i'm a little sad when i see they wasted time on this rework.
I whole heartedingly agree. This ship is wasted time over featured that wont be in the game for years.
You can close them on the dash.
youll see a lot of luxury private jets do that too - everything is basic until you go into the vip's end of the plane.
The fish should be able to copilot the ship or operate the snub fighter tbh
Where are the midsiles rockets and huge 16" guns!?
So you didn't find the dancing poles ?
How can you huy ships in 3.3 beta? Tge site says access denied when i go into the pledge store?
I checked mine out in the PTU and promptly melted it. Feels like it was a half assed hurry up attempt to get it out.
Why do you know what a brothel looks like? Is there some explanin to do Tac?
I think the reason the front and back is so different is because the crew (workers) dont deserve luxury while the people in the back rich people do and i bet the crew aren’t allowed in the back because they are peasants and don’t deserve to witness such beauty
Can you try 1080 p for better framerates please
would be nice if we could flip few switches turning power on etc without having sit in the seat except for steering ofc lol
Should be used as a high end private transport, like a private plane hire service?
It's a consulate ship, on a diplomatic mission...
Aren't we getting a rover as well?
I cant wait to get the game
This luxury layout doesn't have a glimmer of sense. They should just do it all over again in the future
I've seen like 4 iterations of this ship.
Why are they getting so little done with each patch when there are 500 people working on it?
anyone have the STl Files for the Constellation Phoenix V2 ? I would love to 3D Print it and put it next to my Star Citizen Hornet
