I love all the inspiration from other sci-fi shows I've seen. like stargate universe that you mentioned. The gold material looks like ancient technology from universe not from Atlantis. Also, that start up sound was found in stargate universe from one of the alien ships. the water looking aliens with the skin-tight suits that are blue greyish color.
I love the aesthetic of the Defender. It's such a great ship to fly around. The tachyon cannons are gonna take a while for me to get used to though, I've been struggling a bit with them. Also, the voice and some of the sound effects are used in the Nox, so it's associated with the Xi'an tech. Dunno if that's just a placeholder or if that's supposed to be the Banu copy/pasting.
Since having a BMM as my only ship, and receiving the Deender as a loaner, I'm a sworn Banu pilot. The aesthetic is out of this world. The only truly alien ship in the game. The noise, sounds, the wall bleeding green in damaged state. Everything is top notch. I do hope they go to the same extent of details in the BMM. Oh, and a small detail worth mentioning : BEDS! In a ship this small. it's amazing!
Reminds me of the Protoss in the first Stacraft games, all that ornamentation, ancient futuristic tech. The gold accents are really calling me tho, holy shit.
definitely full alien. even the bed isn't really fit for a full-sized human. I like how each pilot seat has its own room so that you don't decompress the whole ship when the exterior door is opened.
The voice in the ship sounds like in alien resurrection. When Winona Ryder takes over the ship and sends aliens to the scientist. But the ships sounds, sound like the alien ships from independence day
Have never been interested in the defender but I do think it looks great and it has made me look forward to my banu merchantman making an appearance to see what that will look like.
The way they did this makes me excited for the Merchantman. As far as the defender goes, I’ll wait until we know exactly how it interacts with the BMM before taking the plunge.
little bit stargate on the arms, little bit farscape on the inside. actually feels alien this time. some of the design elements, added to my suspicions about them not keeping histories, makes me lean harder into my banu are somehow related to vanduul theory.
Crab or Crap that's the question! Haha jea I thought of the Goa'uld too as i saw that golden parts :) But the interior reminded me more of the Wraith with all that organic looking tech. I like the Design it sure looks alien. But with the Banu being traders there should be at least a bit space for cargo. And with the Banu living where they work a few alien living amenities for us to explore would have been great. And with that the interior would've been more interesting i mean come on an Alien toilet and alien coffeemaker? But the Banu don't use toilets i guess. The Arms moving in the front in flightmode is indeed a bit weird but that is okay for me. With that they have me on the hook. I am hiyped for the Merchantman! I am really looking forward to the flying Bazar ^^ But i hope at least with the Merchantman they give us a bit alien living stuff in the rooms. Also i hope they will make it so that two to four Defender can dock on the Wings of the Merchantman and so expand the livingspace and weapons of the ship and can be separated in case of an attack or just to explore and scout in front of the big mothership ^^.
This is actually the human design of this ship, the banu one would look very different, you can see also a peacock feathers on the golden plating, also the materials on the ship are more humanlike, the layered polymers and textures also. The inside of the ship is more banu as it contains more of the key components and technology that is needed for the ship to work.
Actually, no. It's the Banu that built the ship (the Human corporation for alien ship is Esperia. This is 100% Banu made, and it's also why it's the only really alien looking ship) The only thing changed is the size of the seats and beds. The rest is purely Banu.
Afraid you wont get the Wooden joystick, the lore has these as a export version with the controles swaped out to fit humans so standard flight controles.
Hmm... Im a real big fan of what CIG did with the Esperia Vanduul Blade rework, went very Giger-y. And then we've got the new Banu Defender, which also looks 'very Giger-y'... isn't there a conflict or where is the Vanduul fleet/style rework going to go, seeing as the Vanduul Glaive and Scythe look a lot less Giger-y than the reworked Blade?
I would have preferred the arms come in tighter to the body for protection when in flight/combat mode, and so they don't obstruct the view. Seems silly to have them out front like that.
I agree. I actually like the landed configuration for normal flight, except the arms should be rotated up more level for the guns and maybe a little bit further out. The arms could then stretch out completely when in QT (when your view doesn't matter so much). When landed they should come back in and down like normal. I think more ships should have configuration changes between landed, normal flight, and QT.
Like the ship but will probably trade it in. Arms are way too fragile and if you lose one, you can no longer control the ship. Just spins the direction of the missing arm.
Aren't the Bannu supposed to be tall as hell? Weird how the beds are human sized. Also, kinda weird that this ship has beds. There isn't anything else to support a crew for an extended time, and beds don't make much sense on a light fighter.
Man sometimes i wish they would just focus on making the game actually playable for more than just a few hours. Today i raged over them making stretching animations for the character once he gets out of bed but you can't even hop in your bed without suddenly clipping throw the ship!
It would have been so much cooler if the claws just retracted straight into the sides instead of stick way out front. Also I hate the offset cockpits instead of a centerline positioning. Honestly just don't like the aesthetics at all except for the materials.
I think medic/search&rescue will be one of the most underrated professions in Star Citizen, but i'am really hyped for Alpha 3.8 at the end of this year, so we finally get the first medic/ambulance ship, the Cutlass Red!
Yeah but this ship have one things spiecebordbody and if you are born in side this ship you can only to walk around 3650km if you go more then you will collapse. And your body automatically destroyed himself. And you born again in the spiecebordbody capsule. Very useful aliens technology I was 7 times in mission to investigate some unnamed star's. And death it's so sexy feeling. I hope you can one day anjoy this unbelievable future.
if it gets destroyed in combat the Banu Defender corrupts ( you'll see its Quantum Drive floating outside the ship in the hangar) and it is unable to yaw with landing gear down, no matter whether you repair, reclaim, respawn, remove all components and put the standard ones back in. This problem keeps happening to me and the only solution at the moment is to reset the account!! Shame that mid 2020 they still cannot fix this issue or the interior darkness (when powered off), the blinding green QJ effect that makes me feel sick, but they're happy to sell this beautiful looking but programmatically shitty item to me for an outrageous price... The Defender needs a 'combat mode' where the arms are halfway between fully open and retracted thereby giving better visibility. Needs work......
8.37 this is your Mother where you have copy s of your self . Remember aliens technology it's so funny you just hated to be here on earth. Imagine your life to travel like insects with you mother one star to onather and investigate life? This is so fun. There is no horror like many humans talking. Aliens knew how to used technology and rebuild around them self and chosen one can all ways see things what others dosent see.
Here's some annoying feedback: I genuinely believe, videos and opinions like this are the problem with Star Citizen. How can you complain about the "lighting doesn't compliment..." when there are no new gameplay loops and and ships take ages to come out. We know CR is a lunatic perfectionist, so please stop whining about how one door looks cooler than the other (which is completely subjective BTW, I loved the rear door) and please focus on the major issues. I just want this project to be moving forward at a reasonable pace, and every time I hear someone complain about some minor cosmetic issue, I just know CR is running over to a dev team and demanding they redo something that you will ultimately complain about regardless. Thanks!
i think we can all agree that we love your content! but sadly its so few and far between! have you ever thought of covering other games in between the star citizen news cycles
Start messing with aliens, get space crabs.
I appreciate being able to see parts of my ship while in the seat. Reminds you how cool your ship is. Like the Cat, I can live with the blind spot.
I love all the inspiration from other sci-fi shows I've seen. like stargate universe that you mentioned. The gold material looks like ancient technology from universe not from Atlantis. I'm a simple man: I see a new tac video, I upvote
It is always lovely to see a Tactical Advance video, its not often, but always a pleasure :)
That "peak piece" on the top is very similar to the shape of the alien fighters in Independance Day... Probably not a coincidence.
i cant wait for the Banu Merchantman now!
Reminds me of the Protoss in the first Stacraft games, all that ornamentation, ancient futuristic tech. The gold accents are really calling me tho, holy shit.
Thanks for the vid! I love the fact that the Banu Defender looks like the Cylon ships in Battle star Galactica, one of my favourite shows.
definitely full alien. even the bed isn't really fit for a full-sized human. I like how each pilot seat has its own room so that you don't decompress the whole ship when the exterior door is opened.
I have been waiting for this tour from you, i need the voice. Cheers m8!
"Tacticoladvanseheahh!!"
The voice in the ship sounds like in alien resurrection. When Winona Ryder takes over the ship and sends aliens to the scientist. But the ships sounds, sound like the alien ships from independence day
Sounds like a star wars pod racer. I love mine, best ship in game soo far. Now all we need is the merchantman!!
When you first walk in it looks like a xenomorph nest
Have never been interested in the defender but I do think it looks great and it has made me look forward to my banu merchantman making an appearance to see what that will look like.
What song was that for the intro?
Break The Chains can someone please answer this?
space crab!
The way they did this makes me excited for the Merchantman. As far as the defender goes, I’ll wait until we know exactly how it interacts with the BMM before taking the plunge.
The voice is you recognize is from Aliens: Resurrection (no. 4) when Winona Ryder hacks the ship, her voice sounds like that :)
you forget the stares fold when you open and Close it :)
little bit stargate on the arms, little bit farscape on the inside. actually feels alien this time.
some of the design elements, added to my suspicions about them not keeping histories, makes me lean harder into my banu are somehow related to vanduul theory.
what are the other alien ships in-game?
RSLTaken is the real MVP! hehehe
yeah.. for me the Door is the MVP on this ship.. looks amazing works amazing and the sound is also amazing...
Updated Banu UI confirmed as coming to the cockpit. Said current panels are placeholder.
*Ladies and Gentleman*
*Space Crab here..*
I heard a Star Gate reference in a SC video.......I think I'm gonna cry. Indeed. o7
the intro already earned the like haha
Thanks buddy.
Can you currently upgrade guns to fixed S3s? Are these alien guns even available as S3 in the game yet?
You can change gimb guns for one size higher. The other way around for fixed.
Crab or Crap that's the question!

Is it just me or did the Banu Defender jump insanely fast from yela to PO?
I heard it will have a attack mode later, so the arms wont be in the way in combat
But i may be wrong ofc
Hmm... Im a real big fan of what CIG did with the Esperia Vanduul Blade rework, went very Giger-y.

I'll take something like that with a white wine!
If Mercedes-Benz were to make a ship, this would be it. The interior looks like modern Mercedes-Benz interior.
How?I don't think the design languages are alike lol
@@alfredchen4579 look at the new S-class. The patterns in the stitching & leathery. The seat shape. Very alien like.
Have any of you played Command & conquer 3? The ship sounds like the scrin
Command & Conquer EPIC played all of them
"You're never gonna get the perfect ship"
Tell that to the Arrow!
Every other ship, I am flying a ship, in my Arrow I am my ship, that's how good it feels to fly.
Funny first thing I did in my defender was attack an Arrow, he wasted me lol.
Seriously?! No pun intended @ 3:30?! Holy ....
I would have preferred the arms come in tighter to the body for protection when in flight/combat mode, and so they don't obstruct the view. Seems silly to have them out front like that.

Should have self destructed at the end :P
I’m getting odd halo vibes from this ship
More Ship Reviews please!!
Haha, two modes: Crab mode, and slightly different crab mode. =)
Looks like some sort of Ori ship
Do this shit makes me laugh when I know it shouldn't 😂😂😂
It's pretty but I don't want one. Glad to have a new video from Tactical Advance though!
Like the ship but will probably trade it in. Arms are way too fragile and if you lose one, you can no longer control the ship. Just spins the direction of the missing arm.
Nice ship!
This ship is the definitive guide on how to scam me out of more money. Thanks Roberts...
granted the games looks beautiful
the female computervoice reminds me of the voice from x3 terran conflict... i swear it sounds nearly the same
That's broken heart. To go behind unknown
feels like a warframe design
Aren't the Bannu supposed to be tall as hell? Weird how the beds are human sized. Also, kinda weird that this ship has beds. There isn't anything else to support a crew for an extended time, and beds don't make much sense on a light fighter.

no the lighting is perfect. lol remember this is not adjusted for human eyes. its an alien ship.
3.7 is live!
looks like youtube is blocking your video from the search for some reason? Am i the only one with that issue?
It would have been so much cooler if the claws just retracted straight into the sides instead of stick way out front. Also I hate the offset cockpits instead of a centerline positioning. Honestly just don't like the aesthetics at all except for the materials.
def needs a wood stick... like a twig or summin...
i hope there comming medic alien ships ??? only thing i dont like is the cocpit why same computer as human ?
I think medic/search&rescue will be one of the most underrated professions in Star Citizen, but i'am really hyped for Alpha 3.8 at the end of this year, so we finally get the first medic/ambulance ship, the Cutlass Red!
very alien nice. Bio Tech.
Beds but no bathroom? I guess just sh*t the bed.
Game will be ready 2018
No batroom. Epic fail. Never trust aliens that don't poo. Lol.
Yeah but this ship have one things spiecebordbody and if you are born in side this ship you can only to walk around 3650km if you go more then you will collapse. Does this mean we can expect SC to launch this decade?

This is not predators noise this your mother. She dealing always with you teaching. If you are good boy you can if not stay on earth and dream of it
The like button gives fireworks now
my one problem with this ship and most new ships is the lighting team is doing a pure shit job complimenting the beautiful interiors of these ships
Medium fighter, Sabre is better.
Heavy fighter, Vanguard is better.
But she is beautiful!.
Space crab :P
The gold parts remind me of the Amarr ships in Eve online.
8.37 this is your Mother where you have copy s of your self . Remember aliens technology it's so funny you just hated to be here on earth. its 2025, oh we need to re work that BAnu defender its out of date, squadron 42 will be out in a year we promise....
you dont lead this weapons. they are instantly at the target
looks like a pod racer

Love the fact that this Company keep`s releasing money ships but not the game :)))
i think we can all agree that we love your content! but sadly its so few and far between! have you ever thought of covering other games in between the star citizen news cycles
its ugly but the unique and rarity adds a cool factor that makes me want one but if it cant beat an arrow in a dog fight then i will skip it
4
It looks so Amarr...
Bro, the game is just now starting to get really good… Where the hell are you?
bruh is this warframe
this guy just loves to waste as much time as possible
This ship suffers form CIG's chronic lack of imagination. It's just like any other ship but with a skin that poorly imiates the Alien movies.
