  • Hey guys today I will show you how I achieve this hair color on natural hair. I am not a professional, but just wanted to show you how I color my hair since I get a lot of questions on my hair color. This color fades after about 3-4 weeks and I refresh my color with a protein filler. I will do a "how to maintain red color" video if y'all want, just let me know if the comment section down below. Ok enough rambling here are the products I used.

    THANK YOU...Girl...I tried this and it worked! I had the coconut oil, as I use coconut oil and water on my hair everyday. I went and bought the conditioner and the consistency is like lotion; My hair loved the conditioner. I will try this again in 6 months with a different color

    So I followed your directions and I achieved the color. Thank you so much for this tutorial. I have received so many positive compliments. It took me a while to actually do the color and I was scared of the outcome. I am so happy I went on and colored it. I've been keeping it moisturized and trying to find a good style to pop this vibrant color in my head. I am 7 months natural and I've seen so slow but noticable growth. keep the tutorials coming. Thanks again.

    I use two magenta and one red, and I absolutely love it! The instructions recommend using 2.4 oz of developer for each box of dye. I used the red mini solo cups from the dollar tree to measure.

    I wish I had watched this video before buying a red dye hair kit. It looked really red before I rinsed it, and I guess my water was too hot, and now it's not red. Now it just looks like I have faint red highlights in my hair. Not cute. So I'm going to try dyeing it again in a few weeks, and I'll get some real hair dye like you used. Really good video!

      Because you are using a Hi-lift color it works on lifting the hair and you have to use a higher developer. If your hair is not in good condition I wouldn't advise you to use it.

    Your hair turned out REALLY good!
    I've wanted to color my hair again without bleach because I've bleached before and had to cut my hair because of how brittle and thin it made my hair (sucks I know). I want to use your method (I've seen others do this as well), but I'm skeptical. I don't want to cut my hair again if things go left. What do you think?

    • @AdrianneMG
      @AdrianneMG  9 лет назад

      Thank you! This hair color has very little bleach. If you are skeptical try using a 10 or 20 volume developer. The color might not be as vibrant. But it's worth a shot. I had my hair blonde when I was relaxed & its was broken so bad &a brittle. I have to be very careful with my natural hair on anything that can possible break it.

    Love the color. I'm attempting a red and wanted to know why you selected a 30v developer? I know you're not a professional. But I used a 20v and the color is darker than I expected. I'm considering a 30v next time to achieve a brighter final result.

    • @AdrianneMG
      @AdrianneMG  9 лет назад

      I've used a 40 developer in the past &I it was a lot lighter almost kinda pink so after it was too bright I brought it down to a 30 & that's what I've stuck to since. My 1st time coloring my hair I used the 40 cause I wanted it to really lift after that I started using a 30. Hope that makes sense.

And actually now that I think about it that box color says for dark hair so I wouldn't advise using it on your ends cause ain't no telling what color it will be.

    Did you bleach your hair prior to the red color all over your head? Have you found issues with breakage, and are you able to retain length?
