- Fallout: New Vegas has a lot of melee weapons ranging from a simple razor to a thick super sledge. Somewhere between the upper range of those two exists a weapon that I honestly haven’t ever considered using: the thermic lance.
According to the Fallout Wiki, it turns out that this weapon has the potential of being the most damaging melee weapon in the entire game.
The problem? We have to get it first. Let’s pull up our thigh highs, cuddle our stuffed animals and see if you can be Fallout: New Vegas Only using the Thermic Lance.

First time I used the thermic lance I was an explosive build that just turned legion assassins into flying chunks. It was the best back up melee weapon I had.

The thermic lance is BUSTED OP. A few weeks ago I was playing DUST and trying to clear out the searchlight fire station full of brotherhood paladins, I died so many times until I decided to try using the thermic lance I had. I killed them all in miliseconds in 1 try
Dust does have much different damage scalling, but I completely agree the lance is very fun to use!

the thermic lance is better against heavily armored enemies I feel like, because it goes through armor.
Surprisingly enough, the weapon is actually broken and it doesn't seem to ignore heavy armor. You can see several times in the video that the enemies red shield was still present to support that claim and the wiki voices the same observation. I did grab unstoppable force though!

You can get thermic lances from the brotherhood vendor after you get accepted which is easy
8:30 I cut out of the video me waiting a ridiculous period of time for the vendors to reset, but each time they didn't supply the thermic lance. You are absolutely right though (if you are lucky).

I think it depends on what type of zombies. Walking dead had Glenn surrounded and he somehow managed to survive with that riot gear. I completely agree though, armor is prone to breaking!
Rn i'm doing a cannibal run and legions come running at me with this, now i one-shot everything using VATS, heck you can one-shot literal deathclaws

I like the Thermal Lance,but not once used it aside from a couple of hard times.

Oh,and I just reinstalled New Vegas.
And it runs better than it ever did,even though I stuffed it with mods more than I would fill a sarma with meat.
Definitely give it a shot, Rad Child synergizes really well with Atomic too if you are into VATS!

Add in the perk-adding mods I have installed and the potential is so much bigger.
Fun fact: if your weapons do enough damage you can make legate lanius run from you like the profligate cowards he has so much contempt for.

i remember when i found the thermic lance, i got it from a Legion assassin, i got it rather easily, i think its bc my luck skill was high and RNG was on my side
It's a really common weapon to find at higher levels, but you typically need to have a good build, chems, or stealth to be able to survive them consistently!
I found it the same way, but very early on, lvl 8 maybe, my luck wasn't even that high

I never saw this weapon untill i finished loansome road for the first time went to the courier's mile and feared for my goddamn life. Shit was terrifying. Went back to the mojave after that

Lonesome Road can definitely be scary, hell it's pretty tricky for a somewhat skilled player. The lance is really common towards level 15 or higher though!

500hrs with this game and I’ve never used the thermic lance
100% relatable. It's an interesting weapon, but not interesting enough when compared to all of the other options. I prefer the bumper sword, war club, katana, or super sledge any day of the week.
I see no reason why some sort of lightweight composite armor couldn't be used in zombie movies. It doesnt even need to protect the full body or be real armor: wrap phone books around your arms and legs, maybe football pads for your neck and shoulders? That should cover you for 95% of potential zombie-related injuries.

@@directionalowl the easiest way to get the flare gun is in the emergence health kit things and after that get at least 100 flamer fuel so you gat 10 shots and it should be easier to get to new vagas and not worry as much about the death claws
