Any of you guys know why the First Edition line was discontinued? It was something I never truly knew the answer to :(

Ratchet needed a first edition figure. His PRID deluxe was way too small compared to Prime and Bulkhead
i think it was meant to be a limited toyline, due to the fact that the First Edition figures were engineered with more complex transformations than later toys, which likely brought production costs up. they probably didn't want to continue doing First Edition style figures due to engineering them taking too much time and costing too much.
@@TheRealGenm And sadly, they ruined the a lot of the rid figures with gimmicks...
@@Dulguun_Idermunkh Here in brazil we only got the first edition voyagers back in 2012, got both of them but sadly lost some of the weapons :(
When I saw his design in the show, i thought it was impossible for make a prime starscream toy with it transforming in a jet and not having a huge backpack cuz the design is so sleek! This blew my mind
I would like to see more of this version of Starscream in the future.
I don't, his voice was cool and all but hes so useless lol, Starscrem even in G1 did more than this joke of a Screamer.

Anyone found hilarious when he danced on S2E24? He cracked me up !!! Also when the vehicon was saying "All Hail Starscream !!! " and he said : "I can't hear youuuuu?"
Also when Knockout said : "This is going to be Juicy !!!" 🤣 🤣 🤣 🤣

I love them because I _have_ hunted for them and err... screw those aftermarket prices. So its nice to be able to at least watch reviews of them that arent in 240p
My older sister loved this character so much, and this figure is so detailed for a first edition compared to others. Great review!
While I don’t have THIS version, I do have him & he is nice. I loved a lot of the PRIME figures and the show! Cliffjumper was a different design but I love the figure!😍
This is probably the best Starscream toy out there.
G1, Unicron trilogy, movies... doesn't matter, this is incredible!
Honestly, I still love this figure so darn much. I lucked out and actually found one in the back of a Sears years after the figure was discontinued, so I wasted no time snatching him up. So far the only problem I have with him, besides bits of paint chipping off over the years, is the fact his shoulder balls have gotten a bit loose and need some polish to firm them up, again.
Besides that, this figure has been a beauty on my computer desk in every house I've been in, always in that bowing pose he's able to pull off so well due to his fantastic articulation. I just wish I could have gotten so lucky with the other Prime figures, but they're just too damn expensive for me to shoot for, now.
This is a pretty good figure. Possibly one of my all time favourite Starscream toys. I always liked how you could pose him with his hands behind his back.
I personally love the prime figures especially the first editions. Starscream is one of the best. I have him as well as the takara skywarp and thundercracker repaints. I'm hoping will see an apc toys version in the future. In regard to your bent crest I would try some heat to it and then flexing it and then holding it in position. It might take a bit but it should eventually hold position.
I will say, this is the best starsceam in the series. The Transformers Cybertron is still the best.

I loved this version of starscream it felt like they combined the cowardly movie starscream and the treacherous g1 starscream

Ah..the good old glory days. Back when even deluxes were perfectly delishly complex. We need to go back to transformations like this. we need to go back to these days.
i loved this version from TF Prime, especially how they caught the nearly skeletal design. never got ahold of this version so it's exciting to see it

This was actually my favorite version of the character just because his physical appearance matches his personality
I absolutely love Starscream’s design from prime as well as soundwave. Truly were great designs along with a Great toy line. The only prime figure I have is Wheeljack unfortunately, I really love the figure.

This is my favorite of Starscream, he was so cool and it'd be awesome if they brought him back in the future. I wish they'd made the missiles and head crest thing more show accurate. I also wish that they'd made the head crest out of harder plastic because mine came out warped too.

I LOVE the unboxing. It builds anticipation for the review really well, and I liked your comments on the display stand. Could you incorporate that into your other reviews, especially Studio Series since they come with the backdrops?
Once again, excellent review! :D I do agree that this is definitely one of the best Starscream figures every made! I miss back when the packing was only in 1 language, and not multiple to the point where it becomes difficult to read, and the figure was actually displayed in their alt mode, and not in their robot mode as I feel like having them displayed in the latter for over 1 decade now, or so defeats the purpose of the famous tagline "Robots In Disguise". But regardless, neither of those take away from what is otherwise a virtually flawless figure! Not only does both of Starscream's modes look about as accurate to the Transformers Prime models as possible (apart from the odd 3 missiles for each side/arm), but he has fantastic articulation too, so you can have him in all sorts dynamic poses, and his transformation is complex, but not frustrating, which is how complex transformations--in my opinion anyway--should be! The only nitpicks I have besides maybe the 3 additional missiles for each arm--though they still look cool in either mode--are the missiles, and Starscream's front horn being made out of rubber, and can be easily bent out of place, but it's not too bad, certain hollow areas, the legs visible in Vehicle Mode, but that's fine, it works, and the biggest one being the nosecone of the Vehicle Mode stuck on his rear, and can't raise up higher, but at the end of the day, this is still an excellent Transformers figure, and it sucks that I didn't truly started collecting Transformers figures until around 2014, I believe, but I'll certainly try to hunt down the Prime figures at some point in the future if I ever can! :) And maybe you could review Beast Hunters Shockwave next as I really love how that figure looks!

I can’t decide which ones you should do a review of next for transformers prime so just review them all because they are all so cool!
I wished a 3rd party company would make masterpiece Transformer Prime figures. Would be epic
Would be nice, I would buy them, if they are done right, then again the First Editon figures are pretty much masterpieces as they are, its mostly the characters who didn't get the First editon releases that could use some improvements in places, example, Ratchet, transformation is good but he could do with a better paint job and blades that aren't made of rubber, Shockwave could do with replacing the rubber treads with something else as on mine, it broke due to the thinness, Dreadwing aside from a weapon that looks like what he used in the show, his back area could do with being made to simply clip on as I had that break on mine while he was in storage!

You know I just clicked this thinking this was an APC Prime Starscream given how much Prime product they're cranking out and was like, "Did I miss a something lol?!" I still have mine displayed to my APC Toys Megs and along with my other Decepticons from Prime. The only mod I ever did to a figure was paint the horn on his head red. I wonder how many of us did that?
PVP I would love to see a throw back review on that transformers prime voyager class dreadwing as always keep up with the good work dude 👌
Luckily for me, i still keep my younger brother's First Edition Transformers Prime Starscream because this version was far superior than Voyager class counterpart from Transformers Prime Robots in Disguise line 😀. Thank you for reviewing this figure PrimevsPrime, i definitely 💯 percent appreciate it 😊.

I've got the Dark Energon version, it's a great figure. Possibly my favourite plane Transformer mould ever...

This was the only 1st edition I managed to get when these came out and he is indeed awesome. I really really hope Hasbo re-releases 1st edition Bulkhead.

Man this Figure gives me massive Nostalgia feels, i had the Dark Energon Infused FE Starscream who came in the 2 Pack with Bumblebee. Sadly i don't have him anymore but i hope that we get Prime Masterpiece Figures or APC Toys reissue more of these

I think the reason it was discontinued was because Hasbro wanted to come out with a accurate version base off the show. That's my guess.

This is the only prime figure I have and it honestly makes me upset that I missed the whole first edition and prime lineup and now they’re going for double the prices and extremely hard to get hands on some of them

I know they arent new toys, and idk if you would even care, but Id love to see vids of the old Armada figures. I had some as a kid and the show and the figures themselves were some of the coolest and best.

I wish their were giant tf prime action figures, I like my tfs bigger then marvel figs like if they can drive their car form, but it's so hard to find them
I wish the Legacy toyline would rerelease that figure, it's an incredible combination of complexity, depth and attention to details and it would be a nice adversity to Arcee and Bulkhead
TFCC made a decent Slipstream using this mold. There is also a legends figure whose null rays scale well with this figure. Need to cut a tab, but they fit over the arms.

If this figure was bigger he’d be the best iteration, this mold is definitely the better variant in my opinion.

FE Starscream is good. I just don't like how most Decepticons seemed taller than him. I like both RID and FE versions for different reasons. But until i can get a voyager sized FE Starscream, he will have to wait to get near the front of the display case.
I think shapeways had a single missile you could order to replace the triple one.
I like how this design did the "realistic" sort of look better than the bayverse

This starscream looks like he is ready to betray megatron, compete for second in command, or get beaten up by predaking
this was just a limited run for a few characters only......and if you were able to grab them lucky us......i have every single first edition that was done; loose and carded duplicates...this and the bigger size star scream are awesome...
It would be very nice if they made shattered glass renditions of the prime toys.

I'm actually just getting into transformers prime, so any throw backs are welcome!
Indeed, the RID Voyager figure is better, CGI accurate and almost no backpack. The only advantage on the First Edition is the height of the figure. So, I came with a solution: I combined the arms and legs from the FE with the RID body. Even the missiles from the RID can be sort of placed in the arms of the FE. Some paint job and you have a perfect Starscream.
You lose the ability to transform, but you can reassemble both figures again whenever you want. If you are someone who just displays his figures in robot mode on the shelf and never transforms them, works perfectly fine.

My only issue with this figure that it isn't the show's version of Starscream. But since this is not the only figure which suffer from this I can look away from that. It looks totally fantastic.

Honestly, this is not my favourite Starscream in design, although it beats the Bay movies one. My min complain with him would be his coloration, although this figure has much more than I expected. And the tailfin part was amazing.
