Im 10 years old and I have the yellow castle in my vintage Lego collection i just got the police head quarters from 1979 with instructions and original card board that shows you a cool lego town and i all so only collect vintage set from the 1970s to the 1990s
Very cool! What edition of stickers do you have? The 1st,2nd or 3rd? The 3rd is pink, the first is more brown as you could see in the video. is certainly a very nice collector's item!
@EdwinvdKaaij I found this information on bricklink: There are two known versions of this part: 3069a Tile 1 x 2 without Groove This is the original version, introduced in 1965. The base of the part is flat, which makes it difficult to remove the part. 3069b Tile 1 x 2 with Groove This is the modern version, introduced in 1974. The base of the part has a small groove, which makes it easy to remove the part. since that part was already available in 1974, it is perfectly possible that it can be found in the yellow castle from 1978. But thanks to watch my videos so closely and for pointing out that there are two versions! I didn't know there was a version without a groove! Greetz Henry
@@henrysvintagetoys According to Rebrickable, all versions of the yellow castle have the newer version, the one WITH the groove, so yours is correct. Also, it is not an illegal building technique, because it is a tile. If it was a plate, that would be illegal. Because plates are a very tiny little bit higher than a tile, and so there would be some stress in the elements. Tiles are OK.
@@pietpiraat007 thanks for this extra info! so if i understand correctly it is illegal with a plate of 1 by 2 with studs? Well the horses in my set 372 texas rangers from 1977 which you can also see a video of on my channel, has no tile but a 1 x 2 plate with studs. So then it is an illegal building technique with that set? While Lego also indicates in the manual that it should be like this.
@@henrysvintagetoys That is now considered an illegal technique, yes. I guess they didn't know it yet, back then, about the stress it causes on the elements. I'm assuming they found out about it later, and so they decided to make it illegal, meaning it can't be used anymore in official builds. Original yellow castle, nice set. On my 6080 castle, it included technic pins to hook the hinged sections together, was that not done on the original 375? The new Lion Knights' castle has a nice intro section in the instructions (which you can find a pdf on their website) that shows and talks about the different classic castles (including 375).
this was not provided for this castle. What is there, and I did not explicitly mention this, there are 2 x 1 by 4 bricks present to lock the baseplates. at 20min 25se you see me removing them to open the castle. Thank you for the extra info!
One of the best toys ever! I spent many, many hours building and rebuilding this one. An iconic Lego set.

13:09 I think the 1x2 black plate for the horse ears is the wrong type. Maybe it needs to be the plate version without a groove?
