    the first time i played a les paul through a marshall with 4x12 at a gig and decent volumes,it was surreal. It was like i understood what rock n roll is all about. I'll never forget that feeling

      couldn't have said it better. I go back to the first time my friend's brother put a bass in my hand, showed me "Sympathy for the Devil," and he cranked his own Les Paul and it took me!

      Absolutely. Nothing compares to that experience. Even if you use ear protection, that amount of air being moved around you and the way the guitar reacts to it... it's pure magic. //Kris

    I think Thomann should provide an isolated room just for people who wanna play any gear from the store as loud as possible. You have to book a spot in advance, pay a bit of money. But when you're there, nobody disturbs you for an hour or two. The "decibel-cell". I would get a 100W Diezel VH4 with a 4x12 Mesa with V30s and a LP, dial in AJs settings on the amp and then close my eyes and dive into sonic goodness.

      Surely they need a Form that you cannot Sue them if you suffer hearing loss or damage.

      Thomann has those rooms

    • @ThomannsGuitarsBasses

      Haha, yeah that'd be something. 🙌 Thomann actually has like 7 rooms (booths) for guitar and bass amps, pedals, custom shop guitars, etc. You can't book them for yourself though and there is a volume limit. It's a pretty high limit, but still. They'd come in and ask you if you're insane if you rocked 125dB in there, haha! //Kris

    My stadium rig? Basically the rig I have at home! Custom Kiesel CS-6 into a Marshall JVM410H through a 1960A cab with some really nice pedals (Strymon trifecta, Origin Cali76 Stacked, etc.). On rare occasions, I even run stereo with my JVM410C's power amp slaved to the 410H's preamp (stereo image courtesy of the Stryfecta). That's a bit loud for home--even with the volume down at 1.5--but it's absolutely glorious!

    That's the way Rock should be played.
    I apologize to all the ears in the world, but this is the correct way to feel Rock.
    Every guitarist once in a life time should try this!
    Welcome to Heaven or Hell! You name it!

    Once it’s eventually back in working condition I’ll keep my fender super twin reverb available for Jillian to try its 120watts of pure tube power.
    My dream stadium rig is 3 revv gen 100p full stacks with a helix handling efx for the WDW dream rig.

    Ok, my stadium amp setup would be two 4x12 cabs with a Orange and Silver Jubilee head. In a stadium you need a multiple amp setup. 😉

    Money no object: Stereo Marshalls, either a pair of bluesbreakers, or just go nuts with a two JCM-900 over a pair of 4x12s (full stack might be too much unless it’s for like like a massive outdoor gig.) I have a Carl Martin Plexiranger, and an MXR Submachine, plus the Stereo Memoryman). G&L S-500, or anything with p-90s (the hum adds flavor.)

    Great theme for the vid! Keep going!! ;) My stadium rig... would probably be a wet-dry-wet, with an AC30 sided by 2x deluxe reverbs, with a Keeley Muse Driver, JAM Harmonious Monk and DM-2w, and a strat and tele out front. I dare you!! ;)
    Again, keep up the great work!

  • @beardedrancher
    @beardedrancher 27 дней назад

    Mine would be a tweed bassman mic'd and a tele with a mini humbucker in the neck and tex mex bridge. Pedal board would be tuner,reverb, delay, trem, fuzz, green od, blue od, distortion, volume, and looper.

  • @zacksheidler
    @zacksheidler 27 дней назад +2

    half stack? stadium rig? half stack? 2x12?

    • @NINEWALKING
      @NINEWALKING 23 дня назад

      JFYI half stack is one 4x12. The full stack is two 4x12. 2x12 is 1/4 of the full stack.
      Now, there are some 4x 6L6 monster power Twins with very special speakers that are extremely loud. But still real full stack with turret board pre 1975 100 Watt Plexi and full stack is way louder. Especially if the speakers are of the high sensitivity kind. Even with the M magnets and "only" 97 dB/Watt/M speakers, full stack is so loud that majes people stop playing when they hit the first chord. Even with hearing protection, you feel something highly dangerous is going on, and you are in danger.
      I remember my first 120 Watt 4x 6L6 amp head with half stack high efficiency speakers experience. My pantleg's were moving. It felt so impressive that I couldn't play at first. What came out of me first were simple, few power riffs songs like smoke on the water and such. I was not in control of my hands. Mind you, it was in midd size rehearsal room. Walls were isolated, and there were almost no reflections. Sound pressure was brutal. Still 100 Watt Plexi full stack was more visceral.

  • @PurposefulPorpoise
    @PurposefulPorpoise 27 дней назад

    The only issue i see with the Plex rig is that at the volume necessary for the stadium, you are going to be getting the 6L6 breakup of the Power Station added onto the breakup of the Plex. Just use a 100w Plexi at that point.
