Are you okay if I mention this video in my final upload of my own series? I have you to thank for giving me the direction with my vibration after installing a 2" lift kit on my Silverado. The straight cut blocks in the rear was the fix. I have about 80,000 subs, so hopefully you'll get some come your way. Thanks again! Paul (aka ScannerDanner)
You have alot of faith in those u-bolts. I was always told any lift kit over 4" ladder bars are recommended especially for off-roading. I had a '76 ford with 3 1/2 body lift, 4" suspention lift and 35" tires. Made ladder bars from rectangular tubing. No vibration issues with mine but it did dog-track a little. I had to sell that truck because opec could'nt keep up filling it & cops followed me everywhere everyday. Drove it to college 2 years!
On a two piece shaft, the front half of the shaft that runs to the carrier bearing is basically just an extension of the trans output shaft, so you keep it at nearly zero working angle at the front joint at the yoke. You then set the rear diff pinion angle to match the front half of the driveshaft. It's nearly the same process.
Yep, i had the same issue on my duramax longbed cc 4x4 w/2 pc driveshaft 6" pro comp. switched to straight blocks and fixed the issue. Good stuff right here FriscoBoater!
Well... that’s interesting! I was going to buy a rough country 6” lift for my 2000 single cab Chevy k2500 until it said on the fitment section that it won’t fit a single cab truck. I called them up and asked what the deal was as I’m a very experienced welder/machinist and figured I could probably just modify what ever I needed. They claimed that it was due to horrible vibration in the drive shaft... the kit comes with angled blocks.... so now I’m tempted to buy the kit anyways and just fab up my own straight blocks.... wish me luck! Lol
good stuff Jay,you going to get the Carlson done between these projects? we all know you needed a well deserved and long over due break,so forgive me,but id really like to see her completed, keep up the great work, and have a wonderful holiday.
omg i am having this same issue with my 2021 at4 1500, thought was because tires knobby, then thought tire had too much air, and checked wheels for balance and they where, I'm 100% sure now this is the issue with mine and it has angled blocks
i gotta long bed duramax and the blocks that came with my 4" cognito are angled. it runs great at all speeds. however, they are not as steep are your old blocks. i still am a firm believer in angle blocks for lifted trucks. but that block was just insanely angled!
so if your truck sits level front and rear then you don't have tapered blocks?? or if your front end sits higher then the rear it's got tapered blocks.?????
First of all thank you so much for making this video!!! Here's my problem. I'm having the same vibration problem with my STOCK 2016 F150. (YES STOCK). It's an annoying vibration under acceleration between 70-80 km/h. The dealer has replaced the driveshaft twice, rebuild the rear transfer case/pumpkin gears, checked the transmission, replaced the transmission pump, front CV axles and the list goes on and on. They can't find the cause. Here's the kicker though, it ONLY happens when the tranny temp is cold. Once it warms up it seems to disappear. Was wondering if you or anyone would have any input on this because it's driving me insane. Edit: I have a two piece drive shaft
you mentioned this kit will push your front wheel's out 1.5", is that with the independent front suspension like you have in the Chevy or will it still do that also with a solid front axle?
Did you experience this vibration when taking off or slowing down in the 20-30 mph range as well??? I don't get the vibration when on highway speeds but only when I'm taking off or slowing down in the speed range I stated.

So did you pull the trigger on the 6" RC lift? And worked your voodoo on the blocks?
That's for help saving scanner dinner out good job.

I think he got them in reverse lol
Great videos man, always well spoken
What company did you have the lift put on. It’s in California right?
Great video

Try a... uhh Chevy 😉
Any result updates? I have a long bed crew cab chevy duramax lifted. 72 ish mph vibes
Did you fix your problem?
Thanks for the video ive been thinking about doing this since im running angled block right now.... do you still run your sulastic shackles?
Does this lift ride better than stock? I have heard it is better than stock thinking about doing it thanks

check out sct livewire. seems pretty good. nice bigger touchscreen display
Did you try turning the tapered blocks facing forward or rearward ?
Just curious what were your angles after installing the flat blocks ?
Hey how has that lift performed for you when you've gone off-road?
I spent alot of time off-road and it performed perfect. I sold the truck and it is alive and well with the same life in SC.
Did you have to install an extension for the Driveshaft after the kit install?
How is the tread on your nittos holding up?
if you have a tappered block. what is the proper install? I have a 4" block
how long did it take you to install this lift?
Great video!! Helped scanner Danner out :)

Eric Perdomo that's probably whenever it switches to 4 cylinder mode your feeling the change
now do a towing video of you pulling the boat with a big hill
ScannerDanner sent me thanks for the video.
I fine your topics interesting, stuff guy's need to know and how to do. D.I.Y guide line.
T.C.Simms
Freeport, Grand Bahama. Bahamas. 👍
Can I get a TL/DR?
Don't use angled blocks. Use standard blocks. He was having a lot of driveline issues and it was due to those angled blocks in the rear.
Dont do a cali lean when you lift your truck.
Crank your torsion bars to get the Cali rake
That destroys your ride and puts unneeded stress on some of your front end components. Just put a smaller block in the back and do it right
Get an SCT handheld, do not buy and Edge or Diablo, they are horrible !!
