I DONT BELIEVE ALL GHOSTS ARE CREEPY OR BAD. , BUT I BELIEVE MANY GHOSTS ARE GOOD. PERHAPS THEY ARE ALL AROUND US SUCH AS OUR FAMILY THAT HAS PASSED OVER.
You are right - it really sounds like a woman singing. When I play in the subway, many people who hear my sound before seeing me, come looking for a singer :)
hearing your music and seeing you smile just had me burst into tears (and I'm a 32 years old russian who bathes in snow during winter, no joke), I can rarely sit through a video without swapping to other tabs, but I just got mesmerized by your music, by your smile, by the emotion, the energy, the absolute peak of some kind of spiritual happiness; it feels like I reached some point where joy and sadness just cease to exist and something entirely different manifests. This is pure magic - the physics, the art, the craftsmanship, the human emotion all come together in such harmony to form something - for me - entirely new. I hope I get to see you live at least once!!
I am so moved by your words that I read them twice. I am touched that you see and understand! You describe what I feel better than I could with words. I like how you said " point where joy and sadness just cease to exist" - I thought of it as a mix of joy & sadness to the point similar to how all the colors of the rainbow are seen as white when it is totally mixed, but I like your way of putting it, too! Thank you so much for your beautiful words!
I just watched the video you made with Rob, and was fascinated by your creativity and uniqeness of the sound. I think it would perform good at expressing the protagonist's agony within musical music. thank you for showing me another instrument that I didn't know existed.
I don't know how this will sound in english (which is not my language)...but watching these performances I've just realized that the music belongs to the ears of the listener as well as the beauty belongs to the eyes of the watcher. Everything can be music, it's up to you.
Thank you for your kind words! Most people today don't know about playing music on a saw. But this art form exists for 300 years. If you want to learn of its history ruclips.net/video/PW_aZCOJE_8/видео.html (talk starts after the demonstration)
Thank you for your kind words! And, you have good ears: when Leon Theremin invented his instrument, the saw was a popular musical instrument & he aimed to imitate its sound electronically. He did a great job!
Thank you for your kind words, dear Greta! If you want to learn about the history of this instrument: ruclips.net/video/PW_aZCOJE_8/видео.html (talk starts after the demonstration).
Thank you for your kind words, Kevin! Recording for The Jinx was very fun. At some point HBO was talking about releasing an album of the music, but I guess it fell through.
Please send me a link to your short film - I will promote it on my social media. Please give me credit on your film like this: music: Chopin Nocturne, Natalia 'Saw Lady' Paruz (musical saw).
You have such good eyes and ears! Many years ago I met thereminist Clara Rockmore (amazing musician and Leon Theremin's protégé). She told me that I remind her of herself when she was young and that the technique I developed with the saw is similar to the technique she developed with the theremin. I am impressed that you zoomed in on it! Most people only notice the similarity of the sound but not the movements.
I like 32". Definitely no shorter than 26". If you want, e-mail me via SawLady.com about different saws you are looking at and I'll be happy to make a recommendation.

Never thought a saw could bring a tear to my eye... outside of a torture chamber, that is.
Play this in midnight and all ghosts will start dancing

The Saw might be my new favourite musical instrument. Has a very clear and crisp sound, similar to vocals of an opera singer.
You are right - it really sounds like a woman singing. When I play in the subway, many people who hear my sound before seeing me, come looking for a singer :)
Its like a vocal imitating a violin
Musical saws.... Theremin unplugged.
electric saw lol
She’s amazing... The smile on her face throughout the entire performance shows how much she truly loves playing this instrument.
This kind of music cuts right down to your soul.

Lol that's exactly what I thought when I first heard this
One of the most hauntingly beautiful sounds I've heard. It feels like The Saw is daring you to try and sing along.
"The saw is daring you to try and sing along" - what a beautiful thought! I love the way you think, dear Scarlett!

Mind blowing!!! This instrument has such a sweeping and creepy atmosphere it creates, truly unique
How is it creepy ???
exactly - do you also agree that this thing has the potential to create the darkest Gothic music?
not creepy i would say haunting
I THINK THE PERSON JUST MEANT IT IN A GOOD WAY, A REAL GOOD WAY. I LOVE IT MYSELF.
ABSOLUTELY OUTSTANDING AND THE SAW PLAYER IS TRULY INCREDIBLE!

FABULOUS! You're the best!
Who would have thought that such beautiful sound comes not from an Steinway or Stradivarius. But from a common household object found at Walmart.
I've been listening to this for years and years, it's one of my favorites versions... and still every time it's so enchanting
Thank you very much for your kind words! You brought sunshine into my heart!

for a second there I was convinced she was singing as well....
only instrument that resembles the human voice
SO VERY TRUE. YOU COULD EASILY MISTAKE IT FOR A PERSON SINGING WITH A VERY HIGH PITCHED VOICE IF YOU WASNT WATCHING THE VIDEO AND COULD ONLY HEAR IT.
