If you look at the map, and 1:38 is a good example, you see that line of TDs. The thing is that unless you are literally right at the edge you can't shoot at anything except the tanks that go into the valley. If you go there, you fall into the trap as it's almost too far to even render - way beyond your own spotting range. To fire, you have to expose yourself and then get shot at by everyone as the edge of the render range means you are at the very edge yourself. The game basically takes forever and the TDs on both sides accomplish almost nothing if they camp there. By 4:30 the score was nearly unchanged and aside from hitting the enemy scout as it was way out in the open, nothing major happened for the green team's TD line. In many games the TDs are stuck facing the team that stormed around the corner and picked off one my one as there is no cover in each base. If you notice the scores, almost nothing that sat on the ridge did any real damage or kills except as cleanup once it had been decided. The second game was decided because the green team pushed and took the hill, splitting the enemy's forces. The purple team sat there at the edge and got picked off. TL;DR Every map has dummy "trap" areas in it. Don't go there as you waste your time or don't help your team win.
Any tank type is capable of spotting. It is a case of being in the right place at the right time. That is why some light tank players moan when they are not getting the damage assist. More fool they. I've got spotting assist with my Bishop moving up on Prok' simply because the campers wouldn't. I got blasted, but we won the game.
Thanks Claus - I was confused as to how that M55 Arty was able to fit a Russian cloak of dispersion in the first game... Maybe the sigma of the T49 outweighs the magnetism of the American Arty plus the bonus accuracy from the 13-3 roflstomp. Maybe the problem was that he stopped and aimed, thereby negating the roflstomp effect? Please can you do the math on that?
Some players run to big armored heavies when their games go south playing mediums (the matchmaker skewers the best of plans) and some go to the lights. I think WG should intro the option of player switching vehicles once the map is known. They can make it a game selection like the others. There’s advantages and disadvantages to lights and heavies but mediums can work on any map. Vehicle selection per known map would make the games more interesting. If not that then how about a game selection of only mediums? I think we’d see the gamers skills over the vehicle’s strengths and weaknesses.

Maps are designed by WG to give advantages and disadvantages to certain tank types. It is up to players to learn and change their gameplay accordingly. So often spotting assist is due to dumb luck and rng . Your team shoots and hits. Sometimes your team just stares at the little red dots and says- wow our lite tank really lit them up- and don't shoot or RNG says every shot should hit the dirt
There are video where LT spots an enemy tank then that tank got deleted in 3sec, and earn 1800dmg spotting. While me try for the same thing and teammates shoot enemy LT and miss all 3, while enemy TD shoot me once and took 2/3 hp.
On the eve of the newest update, Claus, what are your plans regarding WOT+? Most CCs agree that it is blatant pay-to-win and will not be good for the game overall. Will you be buying WOT+? I believe that the CCs need to take a stand in the interest of preserving the game we all love so much, and refuse to purchase WOT+ and encourage their followers to do likewise.
EBRs!!! I will say they are fast, and probably a lot of fun to play, but the dynamics for this type of vehicle is not sound. There is always going to be recoil when a large gun fires. And, looking at the size of the EBRs, the wheel base should not be able to maintain a 90 degree firing of such a large gun, especially if it is travelling at any speed over 10 MPH. We should be seeing these vehicles tipping over on their sides, or going out of control after making a shot perpendicular from the vehicle while travelling at 90 KPH. Now that would be fun to watch.
Your videos, as always, fun and informative. But, i've come on tonight for a gripe. Not about you, sir. World of Tanks is systematically having any chance of originality in your gameplay removed. All maps, all gameplay, everything is geared towards the most OP tanks EBR, Chieftain, 907 etc etc and to all the little waifs that want faster, faster games. I think i have only another few weeks of this before i hang up my tracks for good. Been playing for 9 years.
Also, if you have 40% camo, CVS decreases your camo by 10% from what you already have, meaning 4% out of your 40%, which is 10%. You'll end up having 36%, not 30%.
Claus if you spawn in the North there is a unique place to get to at J6 but you need to have a fast tank like the EBR to get there successfully. You can be fairly safe and counter the South TD line. Ping me in game if you want to know more. Trapper73

the T49 is a bad player to be honest. he is those type that take high risk and gets killed in early stage. how he miss 2 bug chunky arty already says it all. he is just lucky in in case.

An EBR can do a double twisting somersault and take no damage, but a T 49 tilts up on the edge of it's track and takes a 256 HP hit. Balance.

The tank I got the most spotting in was in my KV2.

I think my highest spotting game is in my T95 on Prokhorovka. I just drove down the 1 line, bouncing shots and spotting all their campers.

I’m have tried that T49 drive around on the enemy ridge repeatedly… only to get shot in the ass by TDs parallel to me on the ridge!

In the SU-130PM, you can get killed off in the first 30 seconds without firing a shot and still make over 12,000 credits.

Yeah I have average 2.2k DMG with t49 derp gun. It requires patience. It's not the huge mystery you make it out to be.
What you need on this map is have NON PACIFIST team mates 🤣🤣 People need to actually shoot what you're spotting! 😱 Imagine that...

WG conflates % and percentage points, and they're never clear about it.
