They just want money That’s what it comes down to at the end of the day. Didn’t they purposely slow down older iPhones to force people to buy new ones?
Honestly, I was expecting something huge with ios 18, like a full redesign, some translucent ui, like in vision-os. “You can't always get what you want"
only tech enthusiasts notice the difference between 120hz and 60hz. normal people wouldnt notice that difference at all. and if they got a pro iphone they would also get 120hz
No heat issues, cool to the touch. Only time I had warmth is after installing due to background processing. No difference in battery. More smooth and enjoying the new features.
Great video man can't wait for iOS 18 to release and update it on my iPhone 15 just wish that it was out sooner as the main one and not the beta but I understand that they need to take some time fixing some bugs and just working on making it work well.
I run into some odd glitches and stutter (keyboard acting up, widgets going blank, etc..) but overall having tested betas on my main devices for over 10 years.. this is one of if not the smoothest and bug free betas in memory.
What I noticed after watching your video is that the app library transition is simply nothing now. Previously (on 17.5.1) its like a card stack type animation which used to blur everything and bounce in front of u. Now its just scrolling. Thats nice. ❤
@somanshusingh7209 ohhh shi I'm gonna miss them once I switch to iphone 💀 maybe the sideload feature will get some cracks sometime in the future hopefully but I agree, apks and separate app sound are the only features I am going to miss when using iphone
One thing I have noticed is that all the devices that support Apple Intelligence have at least 8GB of ram, including the A17 Pro and all M-series chips. All other iPhones have ≤6GB of ram. I think the models that Apple Intelligence uses require too much ram to be used on anything with less than 8GB of ram, and Apple would have to rely on Private Cloud Compute a lot more. On one hand, they could have done just that for older iPhones and rely on Private Cloud Compute a lot more, but that takes up more server space for Apple, and I think Private Cloud Compute is only for edge cases, the reason why I'm suspecting it's free. Apple would probably have to charge a subscription to use Apple Intelligence on older iPhones. Of course, that also comes with security implications, even with the way Apple supposedly designed the system. They could also make it slower on older iPhones and constantly switch out models in and out of ram, but that would deliver a "suboptimal" experience for users on older iPhones.
which is still Apple fault imo. We were praising Apple for like forever for never needing more ram for our phones because of IOS optimization. And it was great... until it isn't. Now, when Apple implements more Android features like Ai and stuff, Apple bails and say that the majority of users can't actually run the full OS. And yes, I am a bit bitter and rightfully so, like imagine an Iphone 14 PRO or even base 15 not being able to run the AI stuff. Just because Apple is greedy and made devices with less than 8GB of ram until this year when other companies release phones with 12 or even 16 Gbs of ram. Very dissapointing.
Apple’s AI is actually by OpenAI. Apple Intelligence’s Core is OpenAI and so Its an third party app feature. So this is OpenAI’s responsibility to suppose to keep the app as optimized as possible. OpenAI is really heavy
@@WololoWololo2 That's not actually true. Apple developed and implemented their own A.I. system that is used in the vast majority of tasks, it's just that for certain tasks when Siri determines that ChatGPT can deliver a better response, it will ask you for permission to access ChatGPT.
I think they made it to get people more new iPhones, because when you look at the Neural Engine in the M1 Chip. It can operate over 11 Trillion Operations per second and it will get Apple Intelligence. Even the A15 Bionic can operate more (15.8 trillion) and don’t get the AI update. So I don’t get it. I think the 13 Pro and higher should get the AI update.
the Problem with beta software is that it can ruin your iPhone beside the many bugs, the phone heats up constantly killing your battery health, i rather wait for the official iOS release.
The new AI features will only work on the current pro model devices because they require at least 8gb of RAM, which means M1 or higher and A17 pro or higher. So Apple isn’t trying to force people to upgrade. If that were the case they would’ve made you have to upgrade your Mac and iPad as well.
I just got my iPhone 15 pro max in blue titanium this month as a gift from my wife for our anniversary, after 31 years of using android, (last phone was Google pixel 7 pro) i liked it it was laggy sometimes and Google assistant was stupid, to be honest i love this phone, i used to despise ios back in day, the only ios i enjoyed was on my iPhone 15s.... the rest were too locked down for my liking... thankfully ios 17 and beyond is much more open to customisation.. and I've always knew deep down the operating system is just more secure and more polished, never going back. Can't wait the AI in ios 18... I'm hoping i can change this phone when the iPhone 16 comes out....😊 Never thought I'd be say this, but i really like ios 😂😂
I don't understand Apple said that some tasks which require more extensive processing or can't be processed on-device go to private cloud compute servers then why not make it always go to private cloud servers for those older devices that doesn't have the RAM requirements etc. as in 15 Pro.
I had the issue where the apps wouldn’t move while trying to adjust the homescreen. I had to restart my phone. But otherwise I really didn’t have issues other than overheating. I’m using the 11 pro max
i believe a16 bionic is all of capable of new apple AI features. M1 has lesser AI TOPs than apple a16 bionic and still gets AI support. It may be slower but definitely possible to run. So i feel like it’s just apple trying to get people to upgrade to new phones
i also think it’s trying to make you upgrade, like surely the difference in the a16 and a17 can’t be that massive that it only works on the 17 but cannot possibly run on the a16. just my opinion and i could be completely wrong
Let's hope that Apple is not pulling a fast one like Samsung did when they launched AI on the s24 by not mentioning that it would be going to the older devices , and then changing their mind.
I feel it is nowhere close to the simplicity of the past and, in some ways, looks messier than some android phones now. That being said, I love the new features, it needs some new polish now that they revamped a lot of features
@@nickackermanchannel Yes it's true that apple is copying android, but apple eventually looks/feels more polished (mainly because the devs take ios development seriously). Apple will certainly simplify the added features and probably hide these features so when you get an iphone, you're greeted with the simple view first.
Samsung was able to push it's galaxy AI updates to their older flagships like s22 or s21...I'm using s22 and i hv already received the Galaxy AI update and it has every galaxy AI feature except the hold to slo-mo thing...and that's literally the only thing missing from the update as far as i can tell...and my brother uses an iPhone 13 and I know for sure that A15 chips are more than capable of running apple intelligence...I mean my s22 has 8 gen 1 and even then my phone has the option to do on-device AI processing...So I think apple is just doing this to boost the iPhone 15 sale...cheap tactics by apple imo
I think it was clearly done on purpose. a17 pro was an iterative upgrade and the a16 also has a neural chip, so it could run all the AI, just a little slower. I see no reason why it shouldn't be included. Apple is being greedy as always.
yeah, also the older iphones have a max of 6GB of ram, could be some ram issues causing on device AI to be limited on older phones. but they still could’ve let us experience the AI using server side processes
Not true at all. Google doesn’t take care of Android. They introduce new features and just leave them. Apple updates them and makes them better. There’s your difference.
I totally think is on purpose, why the magic eraser works really well on Google Fotos or the transcription of notes that I used on a 23 FE (that is a function I really used on my job) works really well in a lot of languages? and the IA functions were added to the Galaxy 22 Ultra? I don't think those processors have more NPU power and I think the latest neural engine SoC can support it, is just a way to make people to buy those, but in a way that works for English Native Speakers will work, I don't know how many years will use Apple to include these functions on Spanish (Samsung already have them) at least for me is an excuse to buy a Galaxy 24 a stay on Android.
I'm not sure you're entirely right AI inferencing is done on the neural cores as it is much better at matrix multiplications and whatever other operations needed for ML stuff. So it does indeed need more "power", along with more ram to fit larger models as they contain more weights, biases,... that need to fit in memory.
Although I don't actually know how much real world impact there currently is between the different chips, but I think there should be some noticeable difference.

I don't think those processors have more NPU power and I think the latest neural engine SoC can support it, is just a way to make people to buy those, but in a way that works for English Native Speakers will work, I don't know how many years will use Apple to include these functions on Spanish (Samsung already have them) at least for me is an excuse to buy a Galaxy 24 a stay on Android.
should I upgrade my 12 Pro to iOS 18?
I would wait for beta 2
This is still beta developer after stable do speed test
Been sayin we need a number row 😂 fa ever
All iPhones that’s supports IOS 18 will get some features that the iPhone 16 have
And probably become slow too
I'll probably love iPhone 16 Plus later this year
I put it on my second phone then my main phone no problem 😂,maybe I’m one of the lucky ones.
Bro, Add timestamps plouse.
this bug at: 1:57 i already had this on iOS 17 sometimes
8:19
Hahaha relatable
iPhone 16 series iOS18 powered by Android
Dude
The AI doesn't need more "Power "
It needs more RAM
Its all over the tech news
Even the 8gb ram on ios is barely enough
I'm not sure you're entirely right
AI inferencing is done on the neural cores as it is much better at matrix multiplications and whatever other operations needed for ML stuff.
So it does indeed need more "power", along with more ram to fit larger models as they contain more weights, biases,... that need to fit in memory.
Although I don't actually know how much real world impact there currently is between the different chips, but I think there should be some noticeable difference.
Can i have yur iPhone 15 Pro max? Please 🙏
Stuoud video 😂
when i go to software update on my iphone 13 it only show a new ios 17 update not ios 18 update
