Nice job with that review. I own a 718 GT4 with PDK. This car IMO is the most enjoyable sports car I have ever owned. And I have owned three 911’s.

    • @ronburgundy4375

      They're lacking in some areas
      1. They should just be keyless entry and push button start
      2. Led head lamps, illuminated door sills should be standard
      3. Infotainment is out dated, needs to ditche the cd player have android auto and Apple car play included as well as a backup camera as standard.
      4. Premium stereo should he standard
      5. Steering wheel with infotainment controls
      6. Sports seats that are reclining as an option...
My gripes are that it's meant to be a street car you can take to the race track I can understand these things missing on a gt4rs however currently a gts 4.0 is a far better deal and you get way more for less money.
Other than those small things where I think porsche is both lacking and Nicole and diming the 718 gt4 is essentially my favorite sports car.

Hello. GT4 has the best chassis ... steering feel ... gearbox ... at this price level. Full bucket seats are very uncomfortable. They are not for every body. To solve this problem, Porsche recently brought the 3D-printed bodyform full-bucket seat. I would choose the standard seats and the pdk box, which is much superior to the manual one. There are many very interesting sports cars, but for me GT4 is my dream car. Good luck

    • @franzhuber7361
      @franzhuber7361 8 месяцев назад

The opposite is the case. The bucket seats are actually more comfortable than the standard seats. The only problem is to get in and out. You are more relaxed after a long ride in the bucket seats than in the standard seats. Why? Because your muscles doesn’t have to work so much since you are hold in a tight position.

Own a Porsche Spyder - I love it, been a 987 it has hydraulic steering which is more feelsome than the 981/718 generation and the 987 Spyder is considerably lighter! I have a Lotus Emira on order and cannot wait, that will truly be the best of all the modern cars for feel considering its still got a hydraulic rack, manual and glorious V6 sound track and cost even less!

My long term dream will be to own a GT4, the purity of that naturally aspirated engine is testament to engineering craftsmanship. I lust after the Cayman S 981, as a mare mortal it will be at the detriment of some stock and share ISA so I have to wait patiently until it is financially right. Watching Stef may be the closest I will ever get to owning GT4 without upsetting my financial plans. I really lust after the Cayman GT 4 as I don’t like turbocharged cars, I will rather keep my straight six e86. Thanks Stef for bringing this spectacular piece of automotive marvel to my screen.

So how does this compare to the TT RS? I'm contemplating the GTS 4.0/2.5 vs TT RS or wait for the Lotus Emira reviews.
The TT seems to be the most affordable for the spec preowned and I'm sure they will be cheaper in a couple of years as well.
I don't think the GT4 offers enough on the uk roads over the GTS and I won't be on the track.

This car is missing a few things that should be base options. Infotainment should be in full at this point led headlights should be standard push button start should be a thing. They should have premium stereo from the factory (as this car is marketed as a daily sports car) and above all els the 500hp that's now where the new model is in essentially the same motor that's been around since the beginning should have been there all along. So 500 for the gt4 and 550 for the gt4rs The rs should have a 50hp bump and the extra 1k rpm to 9k instead of 8. Do all of this and it will be the perfect spring summer and fall daily honestly like the car if you don't need passanger space or what ever you're just going to hop in and go where you gotta go. 500hp 3200lbs should put it in the low 11s naturally aspirated all of the creature comforts perfect daily especially if it doesn't have rod bearing issues or something like the e9x m3 or older v10 m5s had. Other than basic matinence the car should remain reliable as hell

The clutches are a bit weak on the 718 GT4 as they run a similar setup to the previous model. They are prone to glazing the clutch due to the amount of Hp/Tq the 4L produces.
