    Welcome back. I was wondering where ya were and if you were ok. Sure I'm just some random subscriber. But I take my subscription friendships seriously. Stay healthy and hunt those insects Brother.

    Hi there. I got a question. Do you have any ideas to attract red potter wasp ( delta dimidiatipenne) ??? I'm a nature photographer who loves to photograph insects most of the times. 🙏🥳

    I'm two months late, I didn't get any notifications that you're back. I had to search my subs. Congratulations on your board game. Bug absolutely freak me out, that's why I'm so intrigued. I need to ask a question about our common North American centipede. My grand kids freak out so bad when they spot one and yes I'm a bit put off by them myself. Do they bite? I saved one from going down the drain and now he comes back around. I'm not into squishing out life if I don't have to.

      if it is the house centipede, it is harmless and will also kill certain pests for you. if it is a stone centipede, be careful as they have a pretty painful sting and can potentially cause anaphylactic shock to small children and people that are allergic to them.

    Can you please answer me, I need to make a collection of insects for like after 5 months. So I’m going to catch them now and pin them for then. Or is it a must to put them in rubbing alcohol and then, pin them on the foam????

      once you have the dead bug you can just pin it.

    What do you do if you think you know of a special organism that has not been discovered yet ❓

    • @haleyfleury3516
      @haleyfleury3516 Год назад +1

      Document your find - photograph it with something to give scale, such as a coin or a pencil, and if you’re talking about a living organism try to get a DNA sample. Or keep the living organism in a container possibly, try to keep it alive. If there are only one or a few of it don’t kill any, as it might be very rare, but if it’s an insect you might take an egg, if a bird, look for a feather with some root matter on it etc. If it’s a plant, take some seeds or a leaf.
      If it’s a fossil or a recently dead organism, collect the whole thing if it’s small and not heaving with maggots, but make sure you document where you found it. If it’s large, leave it but mark the area with a flag. Take the specimen to a nearby university preferably one that deals with zoology and what not, or if your state or wherever you reside has some kind of fish and wildlife department that would also be a good place to take it. They should be able to help identify it if it is known. If you do all of that and no one can identify it then there is a pretty big chance you found a new species. And make sure to record all of the evidence and all of the peoples inputs on the creature so that you can use that to prove you are the one who found it that way you can name it and all that fun stuff (:
