Recommendations for Kapha-pacifying Lifestyle
Move your body! Run, hike, swim, pole dance, zumba, crossfit, vinyasa yoga.
Use a neti pot. Especially in the heart of spring when congestion and mucus are at its worst, the neti pot will help clear, cleanse and dry up excess mucus.
Avoid over eating.
Keep yourself warm by using a heated blanket or pad and lay it on your chest to help loosen mucus and congestion in the lungs.
Keep your space organized. Having too many things is a heavy environmental quality that you can easily manage by learning to become unattached. This is one of kapha’s key life purpose, learning to become unattached to people and things.
Solar pranayama. This breathing exercise warms the body and invigorates the mind.
Find stimulation in the 5 senses. Focus on warming colors like yellow, orange and red. Use active essential oils for stimulation such as lemon, orange, clove, juniper and cinnamon. Listen to invigorating music - techno, jazz, salsa. Practice abhyanga (self-massage) dry or with a light amount of with sesame oil.
#1 TIP: Take 1 tsp of Chyawanprash every morning (after tongue cleaning) with warm water.

barley is very good for kapha its super light, gives energy, wakes you up and even burns fat. millet and corn have same properties. so you can replace wheat with this 3 grains.
Yes, amazing thank you for sharing and building on more.
Great tips true remedies
a constructive correction: the pronunciation is "Kafa" like cough and not "Khappa"
No it's 'kapha' not kaffa
@@hydacanal Am talking about the sound we make while speaking Kafa/kapha
@@gogoplustill, it's kapha only. If you had read it in Sanskrit.
I like the part about generating heat, I find this important too. One thing that generates heat is raw spanish onions in my salad. I think kaphas can get away with onions every so often even if they are shunned by the yogi community
This has been very helpful. Thanks.
Great video, thanks! I always laugh hearing people list the bad kapha eating habits, I'm like "yeah that's me!"
I totally know what you mean! it's all balance but keep striving for harmony :)

@@HairGlitter I'm so glad :)
I've never heard of this before. I find that I relate. I have been stressed over the last 3 +years because of kids that feel they are all knowing, disrespectful. Financially its been hard too, especially lately. I used to walk everywhere, but now I have been spoiled with a car. I currently have a Hiatal Hernia as well. So it is tough to get things in balance. It has taken years to get my bowels normal again. I feel I am close to normal there. It is my throat now and yes my tongue is white not just every morning, but almost all the time. I have found that scraping it helps a lot. Brushing it does too. I hope that more exercise will help and so will herbs, bitter foods, etc. Im so tired of feeling like I cannot breathe when the mucus in my mouth gets too much. I do smoke and I've been trying to cut back as well.
Any advice anyone can offer will be appreciated.
With a Hernia, I would recommend you to seek professional medical attention. From an Ayurveda lens, it works best as a preventative measure. It sounds like you may need a full Panchakarma cleanse before any of these practice can truly bring healing, from a holistic stand point. However again, I would consult a professional doctor for now. :)
@@Clareminded Good to know. However I've seen more than one doctor, I've seen a chiropractor, I've been seen by surgeon and gastrointestinal doctor. The doctors and surgeon say I'm fine. No treatment needed. In fact the surgeon refuses to help and any issue I explain to him he just claims I'm full of it and wrong. I refuse to see doctors in this county because they only insist I drink a gallon of water a day, the gastrointestinal doctor just tells me to take PPI and I won't. The only option that has helped remotely is a chiropractor. They in the past have given relief by getting the stomach down. Unfortunately it's temporary and I look forward to going back when I can.
I rely on herbs to manage it.
@@rmt74358 Herbs are powerful and extremely helpful. I would recommend seeking out a Ayurvedic practitioner local to you. Or an Ayurvedic treatment center. They will be able to help best :)
@@Clareminded What is Ayurvedic?
Ryan McCardle check out some of the other videos. They are all about Ayurveda
Idk about morning, never rlly checked mirror right after bed, but I wake up late and before bed sometimes when I wash my face I go to the mirror and yes I've like a white - off white coating
Next thing about the air like qualities of food you said to have. Also I have vata and kapha imbalance. Idk but I took a test online and they I scored very low on pitta, kapha and vata were almost equal. So isn't it that I should be having more pitta quality food, Idk.
My digestive system is not very good. I have loose stools, not too loose but almost everyday my stool isn't healthy. Also prone to constipation
It is pronounced kafa and not kapa 😶
Q: How do I balance drava-bahula amlapitta?
Pitta as well all know comprises of water and fire. In this pitta imbalance we have an increase in the water element.
Pungent herbs are usually pitta aggravating. But since fire has the power to dry out the water, can they be useful?
Hey, just wanted to know if a Vatta-Pitta person can have a Kapha I'm balance ?
of course. if Cata-Pitta person eats kapha increasing diet for long time it will develop kapha imbalance for sure
Your focus is usually on maintaining healthy weight and planet ayurveda’s herbal formulations can help you out with the problems related to metabolism.
It's kapha ..like cougha
I have ama in tongue most of the days.mostly i don't feel hungry... I don't overeat.. still gaining weight.. what to do..
Sharmila Thirukkumaran hi! Great question. If your diet is clean and your not over eating, take a deeper look into your lifestyle. Kapha needs daily exercise, digestive herbs like ginger and black pepper before and after meals, and see if you have any attachments in your life. Sometimes when we are overly attached or control to a situation or person or thing, it will be reflected in our frame as well. Stimulate your lymph through dry brushing and deep tissue massage. :)
@@Clareminded Thanks... can I do yoga or exercise like walking, running.
@@Clareminded thanks.. I will try :)
Sharmila Thirukkumaran yoga is great! Anything stimulating, so vinyasa yoga is great, cardio, dance, fitness classes are all good too :)
It is pronounced "Ka-fa". People may find it difficult to take advice from you, if you are not aware of that. Please correct the error in your video.
