It would have been more appropriate to compare World Driver Championship with Gran Turismo 2 since Gran Turismo 1 came out much earlier. World Driver Championship (15 June 1999) Gran Turismo 1 (JP 23 December 1997 / USA 12 May 1998) Gran Turismo 2 (11 December 1999)
Boss Game Sutios said they pushed the N64 to its limits in this game, they pushed something about 2-3 times more polygons than the their previous releases! Please like and subscribe to my channel for more high quality content like this!
WDC looks like an early Dreamcast game. Its controls are really good, you can feel the weight of the car, but it takes time to master. GT has better presentation overall, with better sound and more content. On modern TVs the PS1 looks messy, while the N64 holds up. Good comparison!
World Driver Championship was ahead of its Time. You had a Track with Ice on the Side of the Road reflecting the Surroundings. You had Buildings on the Hawaii Track reflecting the orange Sunlight. Every Track had something going on. Planes, Waterfalls, Trains. Beautiful Fantasy Tracks full of Things to look at. I wouldnt compare it to GT, because GT is a good Car driving- and collecting Game, but as a Racing Game its very flawed. WDC is more like Ridge Racer. Its actually pretty much the same, but with better Physics.
They are both being upscaled to a MUCH higher res...why is this irrelevant? You can much easier see the quality difference in textures and effects etc.. But if you'd like, there is a comparison on RUclips with actual hardware...and the N64 still blows it out of the water graphics wise.
@@Whyteeford Exactly. But one could on real hardware run on a much lower resolution than the other. It's easier to have fancier effects on lower resolutions because less pixels are drawn overall.
@@fungo6631 It's an error to think Playstation can compete with N64. It's not because a lot of N64 games are badly done that N64 is a piece of shit. There is also a ton of very ugly Playstation games. Technically speaking the two consoles are not in the same league. I don't know why people nowadays think playstation was more powerful than N64. Wave Race 64 should be enough for you to understand how superior N64 was. Power is not everything and it is not because of a lack of performance that N64 sold less than PS1.

Use real hardware.... emulator...
World driver championship é mais bonito
WDC é lindo mesmo!
Whats is the car prototype in WDC? I love GT since 90s when I played it a lot on PS. But now I have N64 and WDC. 😅
It's a non-licensed esprit gt1
@@matzck9674 thank you!
Actually like the Ferrari f355 berlinetta
N64 for the win on this one!

Cardboard decorations (WDC64) vs real city (Gran Turismo).

Here N64 is best
One of the best racing games of that gen!

Nintendo was a 64 bit machine after all.
You're using an emulator making this video irrelevant.

Não tem comparação! N64 ganha!
