Spider-Man? Snickers?
Thanks to a r/NASCAR post I saw about someone finding a Robby Gordon paint scheme that never saw the light of day. I went out of my way in finding a beta version of NASCAR Thunder 2003 on PS2. There were some stuff I've noticed that were missing, unique and later added. Enjoy!

Bobby Hamilton goes high on the racetrack
Fellas, is it just me or did Bobby Hamilton go high on the racetrack
Bobby Hamilton goes high on the race track
Man seriously, We had like 6 extra paint schemes in Beta but didn't make the final version. I would be playing as the Snickers Cruncher or Sharpie $1M challenge car alot. Great finds and hopefully you can find more secrets like this
It was all I found and the only beta version available
Its insane that we are seeing this. Just when i think i've seen it all with this game, we see the early beta. this is too cool to see!
In the Busch Series drivers section of the NASCAR Thunder 2003 trailer, there are Kerry Earnhardt and Hank Parker Jr. , unfortunately does not appear in the final version
Wally Dallenbach's Pepsi car too appeared in a telecast but not in the final cut
@@AutoRockinRacing94 Albeit for a split second, I also noticed in the trailer for the game, Shane Hmeil's 47 car was in the trailer at Bristol right behind the 3-wide battle between Busch, Johnson and Burton
Wow, there were some beta elements I never knew existed for this PlayStation 2 version in the first place. It would have been cool if some of the stock car livery ideas such as Robby Gordon's Spiderman paint scheme came to be in the final release.
How does this video only has 1k views? This is fascinating
Notes: I realized that ALL Lightning Challenges are in VETERAN mode here.
It's tracks, not racks when describing how the game crashes.
3:50 You're telling me that Barney Hall, born in 1932, has his rookie year in 2002? Who the hell was in charge of the fantasy driver's bios?
It’s the same in the final release as well
I wonder if Bobby Hamilton goes high on the racetrack?
Odds are in his favor
Also the number decal indicating the car behind you went from the right font to a font I’ve never seen anywhere else for Bobby labonte

This is fascinating!!
Sadly there's no Spider-Man 31 paint scheme in the final game.
It looks like the alpha version had the correct font for the 18 for the bubbles and leaderboard
I wonder why dale sr was included in the thunder games but not dtd which came out in November 02 one month after this.
Contract talks I guess
Can Do Nascar 06 Total Team Control Beta
I'm thinking of making a TCRF page on this proto someday...
(BTW, who is "Unsponsored Chevrolet" in 7:27?)
Tim Sauter
Is the uncensored Winston Cup logo still on Daytona infield?
Yes
I believe the game crashes after you win, because they didn't have the victory lane celebration ready for testing at that stage of development.
That's what I realized over time
Activision had the video game rights of Spider-Man showing why EA couldn't have that car here ironically Activision got the NASCAR rights in the early 2010s
Makes sense
