    Oswald Wirth (5 August 1860 - 9 March 1943) was an occultist who was born in Switzerland and lived in France. A versatile personality, he dealt with occultism, astrology, hermeticism, the study of magnetism, tarot and others. He also had a long career as a Freemason, spanning almost six decades. The Wirths died two days apart from each other. They were buried in the same grave, being able to say with admiration that they both went to heaven together! If I may, a recommendation: Oswald Wirth, the set of three volumes "Freemasonry as understood by its followers. Its philosophy, object, method and means". 1. The Apprentice's Book; 2. The Book of the Companion; 3. The Master's book

      An intriguing suggestion - I'll look into it.
      I'm working on a long video from the works of AE Waite at the moment, but hopefully I can look at Wirth after that. Thanks again!

    Thank you for this great video!
    But I have had to have the same experience with Freemasonry several times now. It is with great regret that I have to say that a lot of things are gilded instead of being converted into gold. The teachings are gold but what do so many brothers do? Gilding lead... "The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light" true words but this is not achieved by closing one of the two eyes. A purified/gilded ego is confused with the self that connects us and it often seems more important to maintain the appearance of connection than to find and live the connection in our hearts. It is also not charity to give the leftover crumbs of the cake to the poor. For too many masons it is part of their portfolio of life: "Here is my million dollar company, here is my villa, my yacht, my shiny car, my wife, and here is my high-degree apron. I have always been good and now I am even better." In order to preserve Freemasonry, one should have the courage to face the fact that many things are not going as they should. Brothers, I am sad...

      @puriphi
      We must not give way to sadness because sadness kills hope. We all fight for freedom but "Free" is not synonymous with "Freedom" (we are not free either but we each have certain freedoms) The word "Justice" is not synonymous with "Rights". We all fight for "Justice", but justice cannot be equal for everyone, because it depends on the social and spiritual "level" we have (if I am a worker, I cannot demand the same rights as engineers). We can fight for "Justice" and "Rights" applied only to our "level" of existence, not to the "rights" of those above us. Not being rich, we cannot know why others are rich (and what they do with their money) and why some have it and others don't. We can only try to "get rich" ourselves, taking care - that once we get rich, we know how to share the wealth fairly (and for some of us, maybe we are not given to be rich).
      That is why I say: we must not be sad, but rather rejoice - holding hands, all brothers on the same level.

      @@salajangheorghe1284 "...and it remains with the Craft itself to determine by its own action whether it shall enter into its full heritage, or whether, by failing to realize and to safeguard the value of what it possesses, by suffering its own mysteries to be vulgarized and profaned, its organization will degenerate and pass into disrepute and deserved oblivion, as has been the fate of many secret orders in the past." I just wanted to share my experience with you about my recent visits to the lodge. The first time I went, I had the chance to speak with a few masons who all seemed to ask me the same question. Then on my second visit, I was invited for dinner and was asked why I wanted to become a mason. I found it interesting that they were genuinely interested in my reasons.
    But, two months later, I received a call asking me to come back to the lodge to pick up some documents. I'm a bit confused as to why they haven't allowed me to petition yet but are asking me to pick up documents. Do you have any idea what documents they could be referring to? I'm really curious and would appreciate your thoughts on this. Thanks!

      It sounds like they want you to fill in the petition forms so they can vote on your application in a meeting. Usually these are then sent to the Grand Lodge for registration. Also, some jurisdictions (like mine), now require a criminal history check for all candidates. In either case I think it's good news!

    Too much self-will and moralism. Redemption is a gift and cooperation. Charity is a gift from God impossible by human effort alone. Danger of this approach could be self-righteousness.

      Humans can be charitable in many different factor... It is not from god alone.
      The gift that is from god is love that is the basis of charity.

    • @kyleg6560

      @ charity traditionally is like agape in Greek. It is from God alone. Without the Master you can do nothing (cf. John 15)

      @kyleg6560 Scripture has always correct , but we must take into contacts who it was written for.....
      But over all we have Our own reign of free will and choose to be charitable to whom we choose.
