I enjoy seeing the different aprons brothers wear to lodge, the stories they tell and the personal touches each has One must take great pride in their apron Great video
I'd love to help, but I don't know anything about the NMJ beyond what's readily available online. I do have some content on the aprons of the 4th to the 29th degrees, but it's part of the initiation ceremony in Australia and I certainly don't want to give spoilers for new companions 😊
@@FromtheQuarries I’m a practicing physician in New York City, so occasionally I find myself with restricted time. That said, I would love to help out with some videos or research. Lodge kept me sane through a bad custody battle, and your videos have been there as well.
@@compasspointadministrator5435 So sorry for the delayed reply and thanks for the lovely comment. I'm ploughing though a backlog of requests for videos at the moment, which will take me through until at least September. That being said, I'm having trouble finding content about Haggai. Are you in the Royal Arch? If yes, do you know of any content that gives a background to his place in the Chapter? Thanks again!
I just went looking for the book, but can't find it anywhere online. This video was prepared from an old lecture in my possession that clearly says 'taken from the book Blue Lodge Masonry', but I it doesn't look like Haywood ever wrote a book of that title - vey strange!
Thank you for this - new subscriber (EA) and I have really been enjoying your videos. I did read somewhere the Apron represents the SqR2, but as you have shown on your video, it seems it has gone through an evolutionary process.
Thanks for subscribing! Yes, there are a lot of lovely theories about the mathematical and esoteric symbolism of the apron. I gave a lecture on it in lodge about a decade ago, but have lost my notes. I still think these theories have merit - the current shape of the apron is very precisely defined ... someone gave us those measurements for a reason 😎 Best of luck with your Masonic journey.
@@FromtheQuarries are you a practising Mason now, and how does producing this type of content relate to Masonic oaths of secrecy? I would love to tell some friends about the academic principles around Masonry but not sure what I can and can't speak about?
I am very much an active Mason in Craft, AASR, Royal Arch and the Red Cross of Constantine. Regarding your question about secrets, I did a video called 'Secrecy' a few weeks ago that might help. It comes from a 1927 lecture. In summary, there are a number of 'secrets' covered in the obligations of the degrees relating to signs, tokens and words that should never be shared outside the Lodge or you would be subject to the penalties of the obligations. Masonry is, however, a highly speculative science and all of the content on this channel is the published work of highly expert brethren who wished to share their knowledge and interpretations. If, by sharing this work I can encourage others to join the Craft, then it is worthwhile. As the author of 'Secrecy' says: "What is the secret in Masonry? The "Method" of its teaching, the atmosphere it creates, the spirit it breaths into our hearts, and the tie it spins and weaves between men; in other words, the lodge and its ceremonies and obligations, its signs. tokens and words - its power to evoke what is most secret and hidden in the hearts of men. No one can explain how this is done. We only know that it is done, and guard as a priceless treasure the method by which it is wrought."

Great video
There are some wonderful modern, as well as historical aprons.
4:15 Indiana Jones "The last crusade" the same place where the movie ends...
Would love to hear more about your thoughts on the Scottish rite aprons, especially how we decided to move things around in NMJ

Excellent. Where can I find The book ? Blue Lodge Masonry by L.H Haywood?

If I had one, I would have to have one with a sun with a face, that is not negotible! I love suns with faces! 🌞
Moons with faces are cool, too!
Excellent piece of work!
Glad you like it! Haywood is a really authoritative author and has a clear style. Not that I necessarily agree with everything he says. ☺
The graphics are pretty dope
Thanks for that - the graphics are far and away the most time consuming part of making these videos 😒
