The only celebrity I ever saw was Mike Rowe walking through a terminal at O'Hare. I was around 12 or so, it was the height of Dirty Jobs, and I stared with my mouth open as I recognized him. He kept his gait and nodded at me, made me smile back. The guy is a total vibe
This was so well done, both men just being themselves. It was authentic on every level. May we please have more of this day to day, human to human. We need it.

"Carving out a piece of something real" ...well put Mike. Love to see Theo getting the recognition he deserves, thank you guys.
I'm 68 and when I was a little girl, we played Jacks, and that center in the golf ball is the best for Jacks. I know what you mean, Mike, about cutting a golf ball open and unwinding the thin stretchy outer core. Thanks for the memory!❤
This is one of the best podcast episodes I have seen in a long time. These two have chemistry
agree. these 2 guys are insightful & really funny. I liked the way Theo would make Mike laugh. I was laughing at the same time/humor.
I completely agree! Mike is the role model not enough people have chosen to admire and of course him and Theo hit it off from the start
It really is great. Mike Rowe seriously put a spotlight on all the jobs that keep America moving you never think of and it's awesome that he's helped people get their certificates/degrees/whatever for skilled trades. I seriously watched dirty jobs everyday when I wasn't in school back in the day. Theo has really found a groove
@@b0ssatr0n91 I was just thinking the same thing great episode
I instantly downloaded the episode! I drive for a living and this episode was the fastest two hours of my day. I love it!
You can tell Mike is such a good guy, and he’s surprisingly funny
its real boots on the ground humour aswell. relatable, you can tell he's spent a lot on time with us tradies
I don't know about surprisingly, dirty jobs was funny af
You should check out his Videos with his Mom… or even more… Letters from my mother… I laugh my Ass off with Peggy Rowe, Mike and his producer Chuck… seriously comedy GOLD
This is the best guest Theo Von has ever had, just so entertaining while also being so profound
Mike is probably one of few people I would genuinely want to meet from TV
Good call. He's one of the very, very few "heroes" I'd risk meeting.
@@jasondashney Mike Rowe is as fake a human being as they come. Don't be afraid to look up information on people you idolize. The Koch brothers give him money and messages to spread. Give me Mike's salary on that show and I'd go do every shitty job around with a giant smile on my face too. Anyone would. And he never even put in a full day anywhere... lol
Totally agree with you. Very down to earth
@@double65 You're confused. It's okay.
@@jasondashneyyour heroes are the dudes building roads, linemen, oil drillers, etc. not some schmuck who found a niche to draw attention to the obvious 😊
Mike's ability to communicate in layman terms paired with Theo's ability to blind side Mike with his comments from left field, pure gold!
I absolutely adore Mike Rowe! When asked who my “Hollywood“ crush is, it’s always an easy answer. Mike just embodies everything that a man should be ❤️
Theo Von and Mike Rowe is the interview I never knew I needed but will be eternally grateful that it exists.
I almost choked when Theo said “if that thing gets loose in a school yard”😂
I was dead af too😂 was mad random
😂😂😂😂 I did the same.. only Theo😂
Two kings!
FINALLY. This is the podcast I've been wanting for years. Two absolute badasses with hilarious and amazing stories coming together. They need their own show full time
Somebody call Discovery channel and let's get it going!! Mike carried that network on his back for 20yrs, why not let him carry it for another 10yrs or so?? lol, Mike and Theo together is just PURE GOLD!!!! 😁 Gang 😁
Love this idea
Damn, Mike got me when he was talking about Mike Rowe Works and the scholarships he's been able to give out for the trades n working class people as a whole... I'm a scaffold building Union Carpenter and his understanding and dedication to our struggle n way of life got me unexpectedly emotional... I love you brother, and hope to meet you some day!!
The voice combined with the humour and the stories, the charm….what a man.
The guy from river monsters too
Mike isn't bad either
Use to watch river monster guy till he said he hides from people like us who watch him won't sign autographs don't want bothered by people
@DoobieDeb Because wierd people starving for an autograph invading people's privacy are wierd. Take a look in the mirror...
Mike Rowe voice...man it's like rocky silk flowing into your ears. It's damn near perfect
One of if not THE best interview for Theo!
Mike is an amazing and fun guest.
Mike Rowe encouraged all three of my sons to do trade work! My son who went to college even turned to a trade. Now we have one son who is a mechanic, one son is a skilled pile driver building bridges, and one son runs cable and wiring in the wings of aircraft. I ma so prod of all three of my sons and thankful skilled labor is making a comeback.
Mike is literally my childhood. Grew up watching dirty jobs and hearing him narrate everything. I'm now a 25 year old welder, and honestly think I went the direction of a trade because of Mike Rowe. Love Mike and Theo together. Would watch every single episode
Yesss welder here too! I grew up watching Dirty Jobs. Mike Rowe inspired me to work hard.
Welder here in NY, love seeing it be ome a viable, lifelong pursuit. I have 2 young cousins that are also welders, just into the Union job work in NY and Fl. Stay safe Brother , and make sure to protect those eyeballs!
@@chrispuletz2946 welder in upstate NY. Starting my own welding company. Stay safe buddy
@@Dwightkschrute47 I'm in New Paltz
he actually isnt a tradesman though, hes never worked a trade in his life.
23:17 “a little urban” was a missed joke that was absolute gold 😂
No one has ever gotten Theo in his whole life than Mike Rowe
Love Mike Rowe! When Theo made a passing comment a while back about having Mike on I couldn't wait! This guest is one of the most common sense people out there today!
i knew this would be an awesome conversation between these 2, like long lost friends catching up on life 👍always enjoyed watching Mike over the years and admired what he stood for
I love that they get each others humor. Most guests don't even laugh at Theo's gems.
I dunno how you can call it a gem if people don't laugh
@@johnv6806to most people a gem is still a rock
@@itchycroe411 freaking Confucius level wisdom right there
I love how Mike gets Theo's humor and laughs throughout 😂
Wish Theo laughed more at Mikes humor though..
That's Mike being nice...Theo is a dumb$#!t. He's not that funny.
Theo and Rowe work so well together. I could see them doing a No Reservations mixed with Dirty Jobs kind of travel show. They would be funny as hell together.
This was a good one, i always respected Mike Rowe for his raw realness, and the way he used the most basic level employees, and the most important worker's as well, and brought it to Americas living rooms and made us aware of a whole new level of reality and truth.
This is the first time I’ve watched a lengthy podcast from start to finish. Mike is a national treasure.
That's because you haven't seen/watched the 85 South Show or drink champs... But I also watched this podcast/episode from start to finish... dirty jobs is my shit!
The one of Theo interviewing Hulk Hogan is good even if you're not in the wrestling .
The one with Ric Flair is pretty good also .
The Hulk Hogan one was just really good for some reason .
This worked out better than I ever could have imagined. Mike is the best guest for any show but who knew he was so perfect for Theo
Theo does podcasts about the working people and Mike Rowe advocates for trades and the working people so it kinda really does make sense
Ever seen anything ever involving Mike Rowe that wasn't a joy to watch? He seems like the most pleasant person ever.
Mike Rowe honestly just seems like he'd be an awesome guy to live near to where you could come home after work and just talk with him because he knows what you've been through.
That was a great real talk. It took me back to 20 years ago when people actually talked to each other . Well done men.
Mr. Rowe deserves all of the lifetime achievement awards that there are to be had in American entertainment

I didn't think I could love Mike anymore than I did... Top 5 guests, hands down!
Needs to be on JRE
Just watched the episode again and I definitely appreciate it more. These guys have amazing chemistry and this was funny AF.
Theo has a lot of really great guests but this might be the best one.
Mike Rowe is such a smooth talker. Need to have him on again
That was as good as any podcast I’ve ever seen. Mike Rowe is such an amazing man, and the respect they have for each other came through.
Mike Rowe makes me so proud of the blue collar family I come from. My dad is a welder and my husband is a construction supervisor. He really makes you treasure the unseen hard workers in the world.
This podcast was incredible, I've always had the utmost respect for Mike Rowe.
I think this was an intriguing show. I find it commendable Mike is working on getting scholarships for people in fields that are being charged exorbitant sums to retain a lisense. Theo had a great time interviewing him as well. The poor animals having to go through insemination and the process.🤢 Wish there was a better way. I guess I am too soft. I feel bad the animals don't get to bond. 🐃💔🐄🍼💵🤓 but I learned a lot. I love how Mike would be on this serious bit and Theo would bust him up.
Mikes voice was and is a voice of generation, I grew up listening and enjoying discovery shows more because of mike
This is the single best podcast episode ive ever seen. Unbelievable chemistry.
I laughed so hard so many times during this! I was hoping other people found it as incredibly awesome as I did!
It’s so hard to rank the best podcasts that Theo has done but Mike Rowe is so perfect for this show-somebody you thought was a regular everyday guy but then you find out how much he has experienced in his life that’s why I like to engage people everywhere I go because you never know what us humans have experienced and their take serious or funny on things in life
Every minute of this interview was solid gold. One of Theo's best guests in years in my opinion…

It’s absolutely bonkers how Theo can vibe so well with every guest!
Bonkers how something podcasts chase down A tier celebrity, while Theo is here throwing heavy hitters interviewing turkey farmers and morticians
Especially the perverts....
I remember when the episode with Jocko came out, I thought it was gonna be painful to watch but it was great
Vibe? I thought it was painful to watch he has some good lines but he seems out of his element and didn’t do the greatest job
Theo is the cutest dude!
I wish he'd come back on a few more times and share some more stories. This episode was legendary.
Mike Rowe, thank you for everything you do to inform America of who keeps it up and running and how they do it!
Theo saying the quarter horses are more urban since they run faster for shorter periods of time is priceless
Every time Mike speaks I’m more convinced that he is the very best this generation of humanity has to offer
But then there’s you, who can carry the torch.
@@HammerOfJustice124 I appreciate the sentiment but I could never hold a candle or carry a torch in comparison to Mr Rowe
There isn't a single day that I couldn't sit and listen to Mike Rowe tell me about something. --What a great guest!
