  • Loveland Colorado we are back! Returning to our friends at the Prodigy House Muay Thai & Kickboxing Gym. After a full seminar it was time for the finally… sparring! First up was ‘The Little Star’ Duangdawnoi. From the get-go kicks were thrown at will, Duangdawnoi making good use of her long legs as he sparring partners pushed the pace and stormed forward. With strong jabs, teeps and snapping kicks Duangdawnoi showed how moving backwards isn’t always a bad thing. Women’s Muay Thai is most definitely on the rise, and this is direct evidence that, with faces such as Duangdawnoi being a fighter able to move Women’s Muay Thai to another level this was a beautiful sight to behold. Next up was Chalawan, with his flowing combinations and smooth transitions between close and long ranged strikes. The young up and coming start demonstrates the classic Muay Thai style with a modern twist, utilising punches to set up his kicks to great effect. You can also see the influence of Saenchai in many of Chalawans movements, footwork and namely his sweeps. Not to mention his incredible counter over his partner as he was in the midst of being swept, Chalawan decided if he was to go down so his sparring partner as both summersault across the mats. Finally, Saenchai with his hilarious trash talking, signature sweeps turning the Prodigy House into a runway as people were flying left, right and center. Alongside iconic techniques that have been cemented into Muay Thai culture such as his incredible scissor kick. Sparring with someone like the GOAT of Muay Thai is an experience in itself but being able to witness the entire YOKKAO Fight Team at once is truly magical. 10:09 In this sparring match throw almost nothing but teeps, like 20 of them, so boring to watch.

In sparring, if you keep falling for someone's move, you gotta figure how to counter it!
