This would actually be really useful at 250, if all you're looking for is a second screen why get another laptop? Besides, tech gets expensive, that's just life.

For those coming in 2018 they added a new version with a battery inside. I still use the old one featured here over usb c with a samsung windows tablet without any problem. Just that with the old version, the tablet battery goes from 6h to 2h of battery.
I want this for video editing on a Macbook for use as the Final Cut viewer screen. I have limited desk space. Not the perfect gamut but for colour grading I’d switch the viewer to the Mac monitor.
Not for me, but respect the device for offering something niche that didn't really exist but, kind of really does for a lot of people. I do wish it had an option for an actual act adapter for added brightness when I'm in the hotel room or at home, and lack of touch screen is a bit of a downer as it would add touch as an extension to what is still for many a nontouch platform. Missed opportunity to save cost that will cost them sales too. I'd wait for this idea to bake a bit and more options come out, but thanks for sharing. Genuinely had no idea I wanted this in my life. Just a bit cold in the middle at the moment.
The reflectance of the screen is really high compared to your macbook, added to that the low brightness, im really worried that this display is a lost cause.
Would you be able to address a common issue of the battery not holding a charge within 2-4 weeks of ownership? (see amazon reviews - I bought mine 3 weeks ago and having the issue of no charge, and my surface pro won't even power it on).

I did actually look in to that at one point! Find I prefer using my iPad as a second screen. Duet Display is a great app, which also supports keyboard and touch input! Mostly I use it in iOS as usual to provide more space for Work or PowerPoint documents, PDFs, and Google Chrome. Not to mention an iPad is just a much more useful and flexible device to begin with! Now most of the time when I’m not in school my iPad Air 3rd generation is my laptop!

I would rather get a Galaxy View Tablet. Built in stand, 18" display, android, built in battery. The only problem is portability is kinda ruined by the stand on the back
