Pogacar was born in Slovenia. Slovenia is a mountainous country located at the foot of the Alps. In addition to team sports (football, basketball, handball), alpine skiing and ski jumping are popular in Slovenia. The highest peak in Slovenia is Triglav at 2,864 m. As soon as Pogacar leaves the house, he is already in the mountains.
In relation to Pogacar, Vignegaard was born in Denmark. The highest peak in Denmark is 173 m. How is it possible for someone born in a mountain to be faster at cycling in a mountain than someone where the highest peak is lower than most skyscrapers?
After winning the Giro d'Italia, the UAE team went to Isola to prepare for the TdF. The UAE team trained and prepared for TdF exactly where today's stage was run. Where did Vignegaard prepare? In the garage under the exhaust (breathed in carbon monoxide). How are Jonas fans not ashamed to accuse anyone?
While other cyclists were preparing in the mountains for the TdF Jonas was enjoying the magic of medicine and exhaust. "Magical" recovery after the fall in the Basque Country.
While Jonas was recovering, Pogacar was preparing for the TdF in this very place (Isola).
Pogacar should be accused of causing emotional pain to Visma fans.
Why doesn't anyone try to explain how a cyclist with such injuries and without preparation is faster than ever? Medicine is a miracle.

Honestly I want to believe this is a true performance by a special individual. My parents were keen cyclists and grew up watching the tour in the 90s. Maybe its age or the fact that I experienced cycling during the EPO years but im just cynical about Pogs performances. Would love to be able to believe in the heroic all conquering rides that are a consequence of his exceptional talent and its natural that he has the innate ability to glide past other riders on a 9% gradient while beating the best times and power output ever recorded. Would love to be able to watch the tour and admire someone at their peak and be able to admire it. Unfortunately i cannot because I however hard I try I have this nagging feeling that there is something wrong, how can he be so much better than all the others, not just on one day but consistently. How can times recorded by known riders using EPO be easily eclipsed and solely attributed to advancements in science, technology etc... Please someone point out the flaws in this logic because I like this sport and want enjoy without having to question it?

Look at a man that is about 4 min behind, win the race. Not out of breath, not bent over his handle bars, and then drinking a bottle of water within a min and a half of finishing. I know that if I am out of breath I cannot take more than 1 or 2 swallows of water. I am more apt to dump it over my head. That screams doping to me. Look at every rider but him just gasping for breath at the finish line. I am not a hater, I know there is doping and I cold give a rats ass who wins. I watch for the scenery, while my husband watches in memory of his father who loved the Tour and took him to it when he was about 10 years old along with his older brother. I haven’t watched really since 2007 when Armstrong and his doping days. there should just be two tours, one for cheaters and ones who are clean.

Why? If Pogacar attacked 80K from the finish, ala Floyd Landis, then you might have reason to whine. He attacked with 8K to go after riding within himself the entire ride. Clearly, he’s head & shoulders above the rest. Look at his history - he’s always been the best at every stage of racing. It’s not like he suddenly burst on the scene.
He cut back on the number of racing days this season, his team has helped out more this year than ever before. He’s riding smarter & maximizing his efforts. The only stage where he attacked far out, he paid for it. When he has been strategic, no one can stay with his explosiveness.
So, no his performance is not beyond reason. However, if you insist he’s on something, then, so is everyone else. Complaining about PED’s is a tiresome complaint.
