Wow!!! Kristi, you are absolutely amazing!! What a tremendous strength! I can't believe the weights you are using, this is unbelievable! I tried to do a handstand, and fell backward and bumped my head :) You are my inspiration!
Love the format of this video! 🤩Hoping you guys do more of these, especially for demanding gymnastics skills like chest-to-bar and muscle-ups. Definitely going to incorporate all these as I've been wanting to improve my overhead pressing strength
This video and its content are so well done. Y'all are beasts and great teachers. I've been involved with CrossFit and functional fitness circles for 15 years. It's crazy awesome how bodybuilding has made its way into the sport. "bodybuilder" was a bad word in those circles for a long time. Now people can have a more complex and nuanced approach to addressing weaknesses without bad stigma.
You're a good teacher, and easy to pay attention to Kristi. I've enjoyed every video I've watched so far. ...and I bought a little variety pack of LMNT. Hopefully that'll help some, so you all can keep up the good work!
Always appreciate your detailed coaching videos! Especially the tip about being patient before doing kipping…learned the hard way how much these can hurt the c spine 😅
When I learned, I started at the bottom & pushed UP (from a headstand). Then built up reps from there. One you can do 25 singles, start working on 25 doubles. Then work up to 25 reps x 10 sets. That will ensure you have the strength to do one freestanding (25 facing the wall = 1 freestanding).
Oh yeah nothing better than a Sunday strength lesson from y’all…keep ‘em coming! I may never get the courage to actually do a HSPU but I love the breakdown of action items to focus on 💪🏻💪🏻
Oh yes !!! Sooo much needed it !was looking for something exactly like this explanation. I am determined to learn and improve my skills this year. 😊 Love you guys
I love this and you logic behind it! Thank you for sharing. I wrote off kipping handstand push-ups a long time ago. I found the risk to not be worth the reward. I’d always end up with a headache the next day and/or a feeling of my neck being compressed. I think getting comfortable with strict handstand push-ups is a good goal, and knowing that we don’t have to do a billion of them to get better at them is exciting. Appreciate this, and thank you again!
This is fantastic! I always felt frustrated with these. I have a plan now! Thank you so much!!!! Please keep these coming, especially the accessories to build strength on the side.
i can tell you one thing kristi that some people are unable to do a handstand push up they could only do a regular push up because in life not everyone is the same at doing excrises and i love your motivation to pump people up
Awesome tips. What’s the best way to increase HSPU capacity? 23.3 killed me! Should capacity work be HSPUs only or will doing barbell presses help just as much?
Always enjoy your videos....and THANK YOU for this one. Been doing CrossFit for 9 years, and the HSPU has been one of the movements I have most struggled with.
This video was incredible helpful! The incorporation of “bodybuilding” type exercises is often neglected in the CF space but it can be so so helpful! HSPU (well anything overhead) are one of my biggest weaknesses and I’ve been making a plan to tackle it. Tricep strengthening will be in the plan 😎
Ring muscle ups please. Especially how to link them, be more comfortable in the swing and how to correctly grab the rings when jumping up the to them with your hands out
I’ve always felt like these are such an unnecessary movement for strength. It’s more of a skill in my opinion. There are so many other and better movements that are a smarter choice that you can do that have less risk of spine damage.
Def agree! if you are not ever wanting to do a handstand push up and are only wanting to build shoulder strength a handstand push up would not be an exercise we would recommend doing!
Love this. Yes! yes! yes! Please more videos of breaking down of movements.🙏😊
Wow!!! Kristi, you are absolutely amazing!! What a tremendous strength! I can't believe the weights you are using, this is unbelievable! I tried to do a handstand, and fell backward and bumped my head :) You are my inspiration!

Amazing!!! Can do you one for ring muscle up?!
This is the last movement I need to check off my “rx crossfit movement” list! Thank you!!!
More please. Thanks
These videos are so helpful!! Thank you for sharing ❤
This is exactly what I needed! Thank you
This is great! Do you have an ebook for mastering and learn the gymnastic movements in crossfit?
Absolutely love the videos where you break down movements and give tips to strengthen those areas.
Can you show how to throw the legs to the wall. Its the thing i cant do
Thank you so much for this video. Would love one similar for accessory work for pull ups! x
Thank you for sharing 😊 it‘s Great to know which muscles are necessary for a CrossFit movement and how to improve them 🤩
Thank you for sharing, I would love to see one of these for muscle ups!
Always appreciate your detailed coaching videos! Especially the tip about being patient before doing kipping…learned the hard way how much these can hurt the c spine 😅
Great info! Yes more videos like this!!!
love this content!! Very helpful and something a lot of us need! I really like the eccentric/negatives for HSPU strength!

We agree, not every exercise is for everyone but for those that want to learn or to build strength to be able to do it we are here to help!! 🤗

Can I order that bottle on there as well?
Muchas gracias por tus consejos y ejemplos, me vendrán genial para conseguir éste maravilloso ejercicio. 😘🇪🇦
How many times a week would you implement this? Given you have a good base fitness and are regularly attending classes. Great video btw!
Hello Kristi, I hope you have a nice day, you are super amazing 💪💪♥️
Ring muscle ups please. Especially how to link them, be more comfortable in the swing and how to correctly grab the rings when jumping up the to them with your hands out
Love your videos ❤
Thank you!
awesome video 💪💪💙💙👍👍💗💗
Kristi - What about performing handstand holds for 30secs - 1 min? Would that help?
Agora sim. Eu vou conseguir fazer strict hspu
How do I over come the fear of kicking up into the handstand? I have the strength to do HSPU but have the fear of kicking up onto the wall.
Should one be able to strict press at 90%-100% of body weight to be realistically able to attempt a HSPU?
No. I weigh 160 and can press about 105 and do them no problem
How many sets of negatives?
Muy buen video, gracias por enseñar!!!
Excelente 🤙💪💪💪💯
Hsw please
Love you 💕
I love you so much 😊
