Excellent! I am 47, 5'4, and about 140-145 lbs. I try to avoid processed foods, and try to eat home cooked meals. I started intermittent fasting about a month ago. Thank you for inspiration, your video is very motivational!
I thought the content was very well articulated and I would love to see more. Being on the verge of 60 and still trying to remain fit, I struggle to find content aimed at this age group, especially relating to keeping the muscle we may have. Keep up this great work.
Have you ever read the ingredients on a baby formula can? My dad was raised on a farm 70 years ago and fed raw milk as a baby instead of formula and was very healthy. Things have really changed.
Please please please give us all the information. You are so informative. Any info you can give on macros and macro splits for building or maintaining muscle and still decreasing body fat would be amazing as well.
Thank you so much for the information. That was great. Our family is trying to get on a path to good eating and much better health! Always love your videos.
Kristi you have one of these best channels on RUclips I’m always coming here to get info. You present you topic well from DIY, nutrition or workout tips
Great video. I like how you gave a bit of a road map for what to expect from the initial changes. I’m 12 weeks into a lifestyle change where I’ve started counting macros and this is spot on advice!
another great and simple tip is, you don't need motivation to do workouts, to walk to be active. You need discipline. This means, to go for a workout when you don't want, when the weather is "bad" when you "don't feel so good" and also to find ways to incorporate the workout in your stressful day and not to skip them due to "i had to work". I always allow myself the 10min rule, so if i really don't like the workout after 10min in, i'm allowed to stop and go home/rest. Stopped twice in 4 years. (and ofcourse, if one is ill, no workouts and no extreme diet, BUT theres nearly always the possibility to still stretch a little, to do very soft mobility training.... so even beeing ill is no excuse!)
Yes please send more nutrition videos, they’re so helpful and you make them so easy to understand. What was on your approved food list? Any tips on how to make them into meals? Was there a calorie amount allotted?
Really well-made ice cream is almost a health food. If the ingredient list is really clean, in my experience it is a legit treat. Just watch your total calories and macros and you’ll be fine.
I think I'd call this: How to Get Lean for Beginners. Excellent beginner level advice and practical to dos for anyone looking to lose fat. Not as in-depth for those already relatively lean who want to cut down while preserving mass from a bulk (which is what I was expecting from the title!). Awesome content!
If you encounter a good video or source let me know. I’m already lean also and trying to build without bulking. Maintenance to mild surplus but always looking for more tips. I know it will be slower but it is achievable. Best to you!
@amperage @amperage yes!! I have an excellent source. Check out Renaissance Periodization on RUclips! Although bulking will always give you best results they will teach you how to do it with minimal fat gain :)
I need the help I can get. I'm 163cm tall 5'3 tall Weigh 93kg 205 pounds. I'm 33 and a mother of 3. Please help me understand whole foods, I need to lose weight but have no idea where to start, what to protein to eat for my vegetarian diet, what exercises to do at the gym, what weights to use and reps to do. There's so much and it's overwhelming
Awesome informative video! For me sleep has been so bad, between being a first responder and a new dad, I’m definitely lacking in the sleep department.
I completely love the information you put in your video’s, you look amazing , I can see why you love what you do , I think if I can get results getting lean and build muscle I just might find this addictive lol great content awesome videos .🙏
What about, a vacay for 5 days with only drinks and Great food. And after this 5 days get back on diet and exercise. Will that sabotage 3 months Hard diet and workouts ?
I have not seen anyone stay this lean with maintenance only. We would really need to know our bodies and be so so focused. 🤷♀️ I am 60 years old and struggle even when I am very focused. Nutrition, Gym and Polefit weekly.
Would love more content on nutrition. I do not use the "d" word. I use "nutrition," "eating healthy," and "eating to the point of what satisfies me." If I crave something it will be one scoop of ice cream or one slice of plain pizza for cheating. I think I saw a pressure cooker in your video. Do you use it to prepare meals while you are at the gym?
@kristi I saw you using a pressure cooker, do you make your chicken in there just for the day you need it, or do you make some and freeze it for meal prepping. Any recipe suggestions? I still use your protein mug cake when i have a need for something yummy at night and I need to get some extra protein in, so that’s a winner!
Hey Kirsty, I was wondering what your take is on people who have been brought up with processed food and are now health-conscious adults striving to stick to unprocessed food "diet", however they don't get that satisfaction from it - regardless of quality, how well the food is made or how good it testes . What I read is that over time, processed food, causes a disruption in the communication between the GI tract and the brain (i.e. the gut-brain axis). Is that reversible and what are some strategies/tools/practices to navigate that? Unfortunately I have seen many people on that boat and was curious if you have noticed the same. Thank you!
Kristi, what would you suggest for those of us that just don't like protein? Meat often makes me feel yuck, so i go into avoidance mode. What do you suggest? Thank you!
Love the information about the food . I need help with my weight . I weight between 118 to 124 lb depends on the week or day little confusing because some mornings I weight 118 . Something then few day later I m 122/23 or 124 lb Don’t know which is correct weight . I m under 5 ft tall Asia women age 50 years old so I do weight lift 4/5 days a week walk almost everyday between hour or half hour . Between 2.5/4.5 miles a day still have hard time losing my weight . Don’t know why not losing I eat pretty healthy. I like to weight 108or 110 pounds in healthy weight Please any advice for me . Most people said do calorie deficit but I need to eat every 3to 4 hours a day small amount at a time .
Great VLOG How do you feel about protein supplements for NON athletes to hit the desired grams of protein per day? Is pea protein acceptable? Thanks for the info!!
Could you make a video about gaining muscle without a bunch of fat? I guess that the recommendations will be different from the ones given On these video, right? Thanks
That they do! I think it is always best to try and eat Whole Foods first. That being said Protein is a major factor for building muscle and maintaining leanness. If you need a protein shake to help you while you are on the go or to help you hit your protein goals that will be better than skipping meals or not hitting your protein goals.
Exercise , eating healthy and drinking water is great for you, but you won’t loose anything or stay lean if you’re consuming more calories than you burn. Let’s not over complicate the process
I don’t like the term “Eating healthy”, because it means different things depending on who you ask. I can eat all of my meals at McDonald’s for a month and lose weight. There are obese vegans. A calorie deficit, while extremely important, is one aspect of the process. Whole food with emphasis on macronutrients is just as important as a deficit.

amazing discipline too! I roll off the wagon once in a while, and lose all my gains :(
I would love to see more content like this from your channel! This was a positive reminder that I could up my protein game BIG time:)
Once again excellent balance of all foods. I like how you don’t shy away from a balanced meal plan.
I thought the content was very well articulated and I would love to see more. Being on the verge of 60 and still trying to remain fit, I struggle to find content aimed at this age group, especially relating to keeping the muscle we may have. Keep up this great work.
0:15 subtle, and powerful word difference: “tell” vs “share”. [similarly; “but” vs “and”].
I appreciate this 😊 #thepowerofwords #intentional
Learned A LOT from you sharing information about diets. I feel like start trying doing this going forward. Please keep these videos coming
Yes please more, you are changing my life one simple video at a time. Thank you for these!!

Häagen-Dazs strawberry ice cream has five ingredients or less! 😁
Really well-made ice cream is almost a health food. If the ingredient list is really clean, in my experience it is a legit treat. Just watch your total calories and macros and you’ll be fine.
If we add in chocolate does that take it over 5 though? Haha
@@SJane3 take out strawberries and add chocolate, still at five ingredients. Same for vanilla 😁
@@sunbornvistoso hahaha!! Deal!
Yes! My favorite is Chocolate Chocolate Chip 😋
Great practical overview and reminders, Kristi. Both for getting on track and quickly getting back on.

Hey Kristi : If no one told you today you are absolute legend...
I wey 50 kilos, so how much protein should I eat at least`?
I would recommend around 35-40kg of protein at a min.

Numbers in kilos?
I have a hard time with protein cause only eat fish
