Matt, it was nice meeting you and you signing my cow. You do amazing builds and a great channel. Dig this video and the rig. Stay safe and safe travels.
That trail with all the ladders I forgot the name but it was awesome so many different features I hit the slider as well there where a lot of other great lines through that entire trail.
Dude that thing looks awesome. It's flexing like my 1 to 1 83 chevy on 35's and 4 inch easy ride. It will drop front drive shaft flexing out. The weathered underside made that thing pop! Be safe I'm holding down Alabama.
Most of my 1/10 rigs are on leafs. Leaf spring generally can't achieve the flex of links, but otherwise they have a lot of advantages IMO: -They are generally very stable, especially when on three wheels(where a linked truck simply flips over catastrophically past their balance threshold). This behavior is unachievable with links unless you use shocks that have dual balancing springs on both ends of the piston, so the spring is pushed into balance from both directions. Leafs are intrinsically very happy on three wheels, and often you are still very far from flipping at that point. -They are very easily tunable(by adding or removing leafs from the pack), and you also get an additional layer of tunability in the shocks/dampers, where you could use another spring or just control the damping rate. -They are also quite low profile, especially in the back. -I also like to think they have built in impact protection: the leafs wrap under impact instead of being held rigid by the triangulated geometry of links. -They look damn great!
Abso-leaf-ly!!!!!!!!!!! I recently acquired a GMADE Sawback Jeep with leaf springs, and was pleasantly surprised at how well it performs. The only thing I didn't like was having the battery at the back, so it's now at the front! Oh yes, and I'm going to strip the annoying chrome plated steel chassis and let it rust!!!!!!!
Have you inspected the driveshaft cross pins for that grind noise? Sure sounds like something bad going on with the driveshafts. Truck looks cool and unique. Hopefully you can find the problem.
Watch a few episodes of What's on the Bench. There's also a thread on the forum: www.scalebuildersguild.com/forum/threads/trying-my-hand-at-a-build-thread-xtra-cab.33637/
Amazing build looks even better on the trail. Never had a leaf spring truck but it is on the list. It looks great and i like it looks like the trail driving fun i enjoy doing. Great work got my approval cant wait to build my own soon.
See leaf springs can crawl just fine linked rigs take less skill to drive I will always love the challenge of a full leaf truck plus the scale realism is awsome all of my 1/1 Toyotas are on leaf springs as well
I don't want spoil the fun... but has anybody noticed the giants in the background of some of the shots? They seem 10 times larger than a human... also it looks like a wasteland... or a desert... i though the Toronto area was much greener... What happened in Canada?
I have to be honest. The retro filter on the video just made my eyes strain to much to watch. The constant blur and out of focus on a 55in screen is just bad. I really love your content and this build! No sweat though there will be more.
This thing not only looks great, but all the creeking and clicking it’s making while driving is awesome too.
Vanqlick.
Great looking truck Matt.. your attention to detail is always inspiring to me. Thank you for just being you
My pleasure! Thanks for watching!
Awesome truck. It's got to be my favourite build of yours it just looks so good.
Thank you! It's a favourite of mine too!
Awesome build! Twistedfab Co knocks it out the park with his leaf springs. You know Josh lowkey wants to build in after seeing this thing work.
Ha! He'll never admit it!
The truck came out soo good! Love how it handles with leafs!
Thank you!
The sounds it makes is satisfying 🤌
Just got to love this truck!
Great work!
That truck came out awesome. Probably one of my favorite ones yet!
Thank you!
I think this is a great build. I hope you keep it.
OH.
Btw.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAN !
Thank you!
Great to meet you there man looks like a fun run in the shitbox!
Great to meet you too! It was definitely a fun run!
Twistedfab knocked it out of the park with their leaf springs. The truck looks so planted and stable. The infamous vanquish clicking 😂
So awesome Matt !!! hope you had a great time !!!
Had a great time, thanks!
Fantastic build, fantastic performance, fantastic video. You hit the trifecta!
Thank you kindly!
This is some real Toyota guy stuff right here. Seen plenty of rigs that look just like this on the trail. Amazing job
Thank you!
As always, a great video!
Glad you enjoyed it!
The ticking sound is an authentic scale rod knock in the r22 4 banger 😂
Another great video and awesome truck! But did someone put a zip-tie on the driveshaft? 😂
Baseball card in the spokes
Awesome build. Even looks better in action. Great video.
Thanks 👍

Great to meet you! Had a great time, but happy to be going home!
@scalebuildersguild OH and thanks for signing my cow.
That trail with all the ladders I forgot the name but it was awesome so many different features I hit the slider as well there where a lot of other great lines through that entire trail.
Easily my favorite build of yours
Thank you! I really like it as well!
@scalebuildersguild I have 2 phoenixs. Maybe this winter I'll build a leafer. I really want a 4 door mojave though
Nice shots from crawling. Truck handled it like a king.
Thanks 👍
Awesome looking build! Honored to play a small part and it’s cool to see those bead lock rings being put to good use!
Thanks again!
Saw it at PLBTF. Looks like it ran pretty well. Was also nice meeting you.
Nice meeting you too!
Nice job. It was really cool watching the leaf springs flex. Looks like a great time, hope to get out there one day!!
You should! It was a lot of fun!

Beautiful work.
Thank you very much!
Absolutely love it!! Awesome build
Thank you! Cheers!
The truck looks amazing Matt
Did you stick a card in the spokes?
Great job Matt ❤ I can't believe the flex Darla has.
Thank you!
The leaf springs look real good. Awesome video 🤘🍻🤘
Thank you 🤘
I put my stage 1s made my tf2 a whole different truck!!! Love the video and support for twistedfab!!!
This truck came out amazing! I love me some Yotas! I need to build something like this with twistedfabco leafs! ❤

Saw this truck at proline by the fire , nice truck🔥👍🏼
Thank you!

Over the top Matt. Especially the knocking under the hood.....lol
Love the truck. Definitely going to do the conversion
You should!
Love the opening title card. Simple but perfect. The truck's good, too, I guess.
Glad you like it!
Definitely Awesome Build 😮
Nice running video of your recent build Matt! Did you use the polaroid camera lens conversion to shoot the video footage?
I absolutely love this build I wouldn't change a thing
Thank you!
Such a Awesome build!
Glad you like it!

You could also use the old hanging air freshener/inclinometer trick. Works fine
As an owner of a very well broken in TF2, I can appreciate that creaking noise at 4:33.
Abso-leaf-ly!!!!!!!!!!!

Good looking tribute build. I'm surprised you found some un populated trail sections.
Was fun following behind you and Josh during we rc rock comp.
amazing build
So awesome! I might try leaf springs now! 😁
Go for it!
Impressive!
FINALLY! Some Darn tootin, Huckleberry lovin', six shootin' God Bless 'Murica terrain video!! YEEEHAWWW!!! Git' it!
Love it!
Bravo Sir!
Love how you used the micro crawler clubs course with the bridges haha. Did you get to take a 1/24 or 1/18 through it?
What do you do to flatten your leafs so much??? I love how low it sits & how it flexs
One day I'll build a leafer. Looks like a riot
Go for it!
Nice truck!! Looks good, performs well, sounds like you clipped a playing card to the spokes to make a cool motor noise! 😂❤ 👍🏼✌️
Freaking love it!! 🔥💯🤙🏾😎
Great video, even better Truck, i think da fan belt might need replacing n da tappets need lookin at..........😅
Just awesome
Crawling 🤩 what a darling 😅 👍👍beautiful tiny truck
Thank you!
@@scalebuildersguildyou’re very welcome

Truck looks cool and unique. Hopefully you can find the problem.
I like how you made the drive train scabby like the paint job great work 👏🏼 whats your trick
A wanton disregard for aluminum. Haha! Just spray paint and airbrush detailing.
God that truck works great as a leafer
Thank you!
you know Matt RC4wd also makes some leaf sprung RTR's with Tamiya connectors on the esc even...
creeks like my knees. but does it grunt when it sits down?
Ha!
How do the leafs compare to NWSD bouncing Betty chassis/leafs?
Happy birff day matt
Thank you!
Fun fact this truck is based off a 1:1 build! twisted fab co makes the best leaf springs in the game!
Is there a stand alone build video of this truck? Would love to see the twistedfabco kit you put on
Watch a few episodes of What's on the Bench. There's also a thread on the forum: www.scalebuildersguild.com/forum/threads/trying-my-hand-at-a-build-thread-xtra-cab.33637/
I thought it might be a tad early, for Canadian leaves...🍁
Stay leaf sprung, my friends...😎
😂
Amazing build looks even better on the trail. Never had a leaf spring truck but it is on the list. It looks great and i like it looks like the trail driving fun i enjoy doing. Great work got my approval cant wait to build my own soon.
Go for it!
those rocks look familiar
Very cool 😎💯
Jokes on you!! Someone snuck a baseball card inside your wheel at the VP booth…
I like that rock that's a nice rock
I just keep wondering how long till vanquish decides to release some housing with leaf spring mounts.
Not if Josh has anything to do with it 😂
What's the front bumper?
That’s a metal TF2 bumper from RC4WD.
one day I'll make it to PLBTF
You should! It's a lot of fun!
See leaf springs can crawl just fine linked rigs take less skill to drive I will always love the challenge of a full leaf truck plus the scale realism is awsome all of my 1/1 Toyotas are on leaf springs as well
How’s the view from up there? On your own level. It’s beautiful from here on the peasant plains.
Whats the clicking?
Probably a wire on a driveshaft. Thats how I build stuff. 😂
Even has the “Toyota tick”😅
I don't want spoil the fun... but has anybody noticed the giants in the background of some of the shots? They seem 10 times larger than a human... also it looks like a wasteland... or a desert... i though the Toronto area was much greener... What happened in Canada?
Is that a square tube front driveline or just a stock toyota worn out cv? Haha
Truck looks good on the trail, but sounds like you got a card in the spur or something boss
Is this the truck with the 3D printed spur gear? Looks awesome! Sounds aweful 😂
Cool been waiting to see the old girl running. What is that awful clicking sound, dude did you break it already?
She’s looking gooood, but that clicking sound Mat 🤔
I think that’s the front screw in the bottom of the skid. They hit the spur gear
Fantastic video of one of my favorite builds. Let your janky flag fly, boyeee!
Thank you!
Tires are new lol. Jj
Those ain't no Canada rocks
Definitely not!
I have to be honest. The retro filter on the video just made my eyes strain to much to watch. The constant blur and out of focus on a 55in screen is just bad. I really love your content and this build! No sweat though there will be more.
Sorry to hear that! Just trying something new!
@@scalebuildersguild watched on my Ipad. It was WAY better on the small screen.
She's a looker, eh?
