I got a halloween pumpkin two years ago and sat it in front of my fireplace, and since then I've had pumpkins and gourds around my house year round. They only get replaced when they fall apart.

Girl about the Christmas tree up on January 5th thing: in Germany there's this thing called Three Kings Day. It's a holiday this year on January 6th. Its tradition to keep the tree up until then. There you have it.

You should be getting a partial refund on tuition fees because at the best of times, uni is way too expensive but now you're not even getting the same quality of education that you're paying an arm and a leg for. I feel bad for one of my neighbours, she started uni this year but even before corona and stuff, there was a strike that lasted at least a month.

Nice build!! Discover University is my fav new pack! I've sent several of my Sims to get a degree. My last one got a degree in Biology, and became a doctor. I finally didn't get bored with having a doctor Sim, since she started her career in level 8. It's the first time I was patient enough to see my Sim become a surgeon and deliver a baby for someone at the hospital. Looking for my next Sim to send to get a degree and see what new job she/he can get afterwards. Happy New Year! Glad you made it back safely. I loved your tree... would have been fine seeing it for a while longer. Your choice, girl! :-)

my current game I started as a single mom in uni with a toddler. she's now maxed the doctor career, married her dream man, had another kid, and her first daughter got into every distinguished course and graduated with straight A+'s into the scientist career

I love living in this apartment. I love the needs TLC trait - it makes the apartment interesting without being too obnoxious (there's interesting variance in the issues).
I find the modded computer interactions aren't locked. Not sure if some other interactions slip through from packs, but for my Sims it seems to be modded interactions.

I've actually put a wall in front of the rats and roaches and put windows in at the exact same place as the outer wall and pretended that was the outer wall. Able to enjoy the apartment without having to deal with all the creepy crawlies!

I started school on January 2 I was so tired and everyone single one of my classes had about 5 or more people missing
I got university for Christmas as my main present and I literally cried! My brother laughed at me because he got a huge guitar and he saw my thin cardboard packaging with Xbox one vouchers for university inside, but it was literally the best present I could have asked for!
honestly the like kinda beige swatch on the cheapest counter is like the MOST COMMON kinda counters you get in britain especially in cheaper apartments (usually from the 50s) so it works for me

My college classes start this week! My college starts super early because they do 6 semesters a year. A spring one, an end of spring minimester, a summer semester, an end of summer minimester, a fall one, and a winter minimester.

Christmas in Sweden doesn't die in January's until 20de Knut. There's a saying that goes: Tjugonde knut går julen ut.
And this year that falls on January the 13th. So there's a lot of people still with decorations and trees up. Some even leave them well into February. Now that's pushing it a bit. But never feel bad for leaving your tree of decorations up til mid January. Cos that's how it should be done, always!!!

Well, u wouldn't get any hate from Filipinos. In the Philippines, Christmas starts at September and ends in February (before valentines). Malls start playing christmas music and putting up decorations as early as September. And news channels on TV even start a "Christmas Countdown". Not even kidding. Proud Filipino here!
Having the tree up so "long" is actually normal for me. My whole family (exept the kids in my generation) is from rusia and orthodox and we even have It up on new years eve but the other people here in Germany thinks It's weird. New years is a way more important day to us ruassians than it is to the germans so we leave the christmas decor. 🤷🏽♀️

I graduated from Dental Hygiene school 3.5 years ago and decided to go back to school to become a Registered Massage Therapist. Definitely one of the best decisions I have made in my life but DAMN is it stressful! I had nightmares about going back, but I start another semester tomorrow and I am pretty excited to get back into and progressing towards a brighter future!

In attempt to make you feel better- the 12th day of Christmas is January 5th. And it’s liturgically acceptable to keep your tree up until candlemas which isn’t until February 2nd :) so girl, you leave your tree up if you want!

To fix roommates and friends to come in your room and use your computer lock the door for everyone but your sim and then allow access to certain sims as they come over

University is a great addition to the whole game. I only wish there were more empty lots for teachers, parents, frat house or whatever.
Beginning of the video. Don't worry simsie, November 25 is a fine time to put your tree up. My family usually puts ours up on Thanksgiving day, as a tradition.
next remodel of your sims home/apartment what about spinning a wheel to decide the remodel - colour pallete, theme for rooms (that could be dangerous - could wind up with a kitchen vintage blue, dining super modern steel grey with bathrooms being tropical red) what "necessities" do they not get eg. remodelling lounge do they not get a tv, stereo, couch, fireplace, bookshelf, lights, miscellaneous decor or plants.
My tree stays until Jan 6th - 12th night. A British tradition I imported, along with Christmas Crackers, plum pudding etc
My (tabletop) tree is decorated with a fall theme on November 1st. It's changed to a Christmas theme on December 1st. And lastly, changed to a generic winter theme January 1st, until February 1st. A Catholic wouldn't mentioned having the tree up in January because for them, Christmas day is January 7th, though some celebrate January 6th.
In Finland we celebrate Epiphany on Jan 6th, so that's a national holiday and in Finnish it kind of translates to "the end of Christmas". So we usually keep our Christmas decorations up until that.
I was a bit judgmental about when a Christmas tree should be up, but after listening to your reasons for wanting it up sooner and longer I have changed my mine and think you should do what makes you happy. Its not hurting anyone.
I have a little Christmas tree in my room and I kept putting off taking it down, and eventually, Christmas was closer than last Christmas was, so moral of the story, it's been up for over a year 😂 It's become a permanent decoration.
I got sick before the start of winter break and, despite being in pain, I honestly peaked. Now I'm going back to school and my will to live has dropped once more! 🙃
