Hey Luke, welcome to the 2024 Poor Boys RC Speed Run Challenge! That's a rad looking Herbie you've got there! Thanks for the kind email and I'm really looking forward to seeing your speed runs. Have fun! 💨💨💨
@@poorboysrc I’m too happy you stopped by, it’s my pleasure good sir. Everyone is so pumped up for this competition but most of all as you stated too have fun. The amount of new rc creators and those who are more seasoned come together for friendship and creativity with a little competition is amazing . Your awesome human being. Thanks again. 🙏
Nice, I like the Herbie version. Best wishes and have fun. Please check the lengthof the shocks. I bought (probably) the same at the jungle river. The describtion was wrong. Althought they should fit for these chassis and the TTs. Had tosent them back, they're too long. Now I use the super mini CVAs (54753)
@@RCBirds hey there bud I ordered 52mm shocks and 55mn to be safe. There treehobby 52 off Amazon. Fit perfectly. Cheaper than cva mini by a lot only 14 bucks. I’ll show all the details in second video. Coming soon. Thanks for watching.
@@LukesVintageRC cool you found fitting ones, On my shopping tour I had no meassurements of the shocks, either in the describtions nor was the kit here. As I builded one of the original wobblers I saw it, but also saw that it's almost the same length as on the TT-01. Bye bye cheap shocks😁
A lovely Herbie (one of the most iconic movie car of all time) 🤩 Good luck with the challenge (please don't trash this body 😢). I see in the background a beautiful box of the Tamiya Daytona Thunder, you're lucky 😊
@@coygtrc howdy, i certainly hope the body survives too. I’ll remove bumpers and lights to be safe. Bodies come up on eBay so not too worried. The Daytona is just another great car I gotta get around to. Thanks for watching. 😊
I’m a huge fan of the MF01X, with a few upgrades it’s a great chassis and it drives beautifully on road and can even handle a little bit of mild off road.
Since I have no experience with hobby grade RC cars, I cheated and ordered an Expert Built version straight from Japan. Ready to Run! So, while I’m waiting for it to come, I might buy another body and try to make a custom paint scheme. Thanks for the motivating video.
YES!!! Man, I've been eye balling this kit and the street version on the M-06 chassis to do this exact build. When you said that you were wanting it to be Hollywood inspired, I thought "that better be Herbie under that cloth!" lol. That's a childhood (and still is) favorite movie series of mine. As always, beautiful build, Luke! Can't wait to see the updates with the upgraded parts, man! Good luck with the competition!
I love the Herbie theme! Best of luck in the challenge as well. I chose to run a donor body as I know mine is going to end up with some road rash and possibly needing some parts replaced so I am keeping the beetle body for after this is all done! LOL! It should be fun and with all the competition i have zero hopes of winning but I am gonna feed it the beans regardless!
Man Tamiya needs to work on their presentations just a little I mean what an absolute disaster compared to the old days. Looks like they literally just threw it in a box I’m surprised they still have box art. Come on Tamiya this might be a kids first kit on Christmas and that’s what he gets. I only care because I’m addicted to them.
Very nice job. All it needs is a hot red head driver!! Welcome to the circus!!
@@Paul__FC I would go with an ice cold brunette driver instead. Hey what kid doesn’t luv a circus. 🎪
