The end is already there. No successor according to bmw. 6 series and 8 series weren't that successful. Sales were behind bmw expected to be. M8 Comp starts at 191.000€. With some option you hit 250.000€ in Germany. That's nuts! At the end, you drive a BMW.

Value for money you cant beat this. 911 4s is the only comparable about price, id get the best top of the line bmw over a 911 that even car spotters doesn’t care to look. If you spend at least 230.000€ for an m8 comp, you can easily spend that money on a DB11 or Continental GT. Both are way more exclusive, and prestige is much higher. The reality is that the majority of people think like that. That's why 8 series sales are bad. Its "just" a bmw.

I’ve got a 650i and even that thing feels like a whole other planet compared to an American muscle car, amg cars are nice but the bmws have had the torque thing figured out for 20+ years now. They just feel so good, really a drivers car. You have instant torque no matter what whenever you want. You press the gas and it doesn’t matter your cruiser becomes a rocket
My car is at peak torque from 1750-5600 rpm. That’s pretty insane. Let alone having *allegedly* 450 hp 480 ft lbs torque. It feels much faster than other cars with those numbers I’ve driven.
I'm torn between this and the lc500 as my next purchase. I know this is faster and newer but I can't discount the LC 500 which is just gorgeous and is NA vs TC
This video was recorded in early or late summer I'm almost certain. I live in that area too and at the moment the sun starts setting around 5PM and fully dark by 6PM, like johnmccoy says above. This is further confirmed by the fact that the discount code for their store he mentions ("BMWM8" or "BMW M8" or any other variation I tried) doesn't work anymore and also the dashboard says "16°C" as the outside temperature and it's quite a bit colder here at the moment, especially at 9PM it should be around 10°C colder than that give or take a few degrees. So this definitely wasn't recorded recently
Just try something, the next time you drive an automatic car on The Autobahn, when you think you reached the top speed. Release the accelerator and push it again giving a one second gap and you would notice a difference between the speed. I drive a bmw 520d 2013 model and everyone says that it goes to 205-210 but I pushed it to 220 on Mumbai's Worli Sea Link before it had speed cameras all over it.
