  • Had to replace the O2 sensor on a 2004 Cherokee after the heater circuit failed. This can be done from the top of the engine.

    Thanx for the excellent video. I just switched to a different WJ with CA emissions. Glad to see I didn't have to crawl around to replace the upstream sensors. Thanx again!!

    I have an 03 Jeep Grand Cherokee. It shows The P0051 code heated heater malfunction for upstream sensor on the back 3 banks. Have replaced it 3 times I'm still getting the same code have checked the sensors I get anywhere from 3.5 to 4.5 OMS Have checked the PCS connection to it on the 2 white wires anywhere from 12.5 to 12.85 V. Any other issues that could cause this very frustrated. Any and all information would be great. PS it is a 4.0

      It means the O2 senor is getting lazy or slow to change its value. The O2 sensor needs to be replaced.

    How do you differentiate which O2 sensor goes to bank 1 or 2

    • @737mechanic
      @737mechanic  Год назад +1

      The front 3 cylinders are bank 1 and the rear 3 are bank 2.

      It is downstream of the catalytic converter that is on the rear part of the exhaust manifold.
