Wow so many good and different shots in one video. I actually like good background music, but also like the style of you just playing the ambient sounds. Keep up the good work and greetings from Germany!
Every shot could have easily been from a movie. Cinematic to me is this, beautifully framed with incredible quality. We will be embarking on almost this very same route this summer, so this was a lot of fun to watch. Quebec City in particular is gorgeous. Cheers from Canada!
That is the new generation of “filmmakers” that instead of going to school and learn how to properly operate a camera decided to study on RUclips. From who? From a bunch of people that never shot anything in their life and decided to teach people how to become a filmmaker. Of course the key point of this modern “filmmaking” movement are auto focus, IBIS and shooting at the highest ISO possible. Quite sad, but real filmmakers will have zero competition in a few years.
Master filmmaking! Very Beautiful work, as always, Master Matteo. Thank you for everything that you teach and share with us, my Brother. Best Wishes to you and your loved ones. 💓
Beautiful video! I recognize Québec city nicely done, I have a question, I saw your other video about not needing autofocus or ibis, some of your shots in this video are walking shots and they seem really stable, did you add weight to your camera, it might be hard to add weight on a camera while travelling or did you stabilize those shots in post?
Hi Matteo, you are the reason why I got into the Blackmagic system, hence recently owning my 1st BMCC6K. Well, we all know that the battery sucks big time. But from this Road Trips and other personal projects i have all watched, what settings do you recommend for me to conserve and have a lasting power to shoot when running and gunning with the lightest setup?
@@matteobertoli i believe I worder that incorrectly. What I meant was that this blackmagic camera is the first of it's kind of satisfy my idea of what a camera's image should be like. Pocket 4K/6K and all the modern ursa's have an image I do not like. I'm actually having a tough time believing this camera records the scene in log. It looks more like it records the light levels linearly.
Nice work. I've just had a three week road trip with the family through France so I'll have to get editing all my footage. I was carrying my P4K with a zeiss milvus 25mm f14 (with and without speed booster) really versatile set-up - not light-weight though due to the lens! I was just using an internal SD card and internal batteries until late in the day when I'd add a big NPF battery if needed.... Pretty good set-up for travel °¬)
Really enjoyed watching this video Your shots are fantastic! It was so cool to get the chance to link up in Quebec City! Let me know if you ever come back to Canada again! :)
Looks great, I have the leica R 35mm as well, but mine is quite stiff. Did you ever had servicing done on them? (not sure how much that would cost). What also drives me nuts is light leaks, the moment the sun hits theses lenses the the whole image just bleaches out. Not sure how you are battling that one? I never use a mattebox btw.
I am sorry to tell you, but that’s an issue with your lens. My 35mm is simply perfect. I always tell people to buy from reputable dealers and the lenses have to be in perfect conditions. I know so many people that got bad lenses from ebay because they were cheap. Never had service done to mine, but I bought them like new :)
Do you shoot wider than you would normally frame a shot if you know in advance you are going to use the gyro stabilization later? Can you set a custom grid overlay to roughly approximate what the crop would be from the gyro stabilization? I guess shooting 3:2 and outputting in 16:9 is already handling the issue somewhat.
Gorgeous as always Matteo! Boníssima! Matteo, one question, i know you don´t like sonys or Panasonics, but do you think the GH5 falls too far behind the BMPCC 4k? Or the 6k?
Hope you enjoyed our country! Next time if you need a tour, I would gladly give you advice! I'm a Montrealer and know a bunch of great places to go see around all Quebec. Just hit me up!
thanks you have so much space to play with I got my bmcc6k not long ago just a little big difference i don't have Leica R but Contax CZ 35 does render beautify too maybe hehe learning a lot from you thank you@@matteobertoli
Some beautiful images though a bit jumpy...I just prefer longer takes and more camera on tripod--Chantal Ackerman style--rather than wiggling camera operator. But again, beautiful images. Sound editing can really be improved upon and make transitions between footage "clips" so much smoother. Feels a bit too jumpy now.

You are the type of filmmaker Blackmagic cameras are made for 💪💪💪
So nice, your color grading is awesome... and even better without music, only natural sounds or sounds that seem natural. Thanks as always !
I just watched this again because the images are so beautiful!

I still see people complaining about AF or IBIS not being on this camera. Smh. This camera is a filmmaker's dream.

@@matteobertoli I agree 100%, I can't wait.
So good 👏🏼 Blackmagic needs to start paying you. You’re one of the reasons I bought one 😂
You're always the best when you shoot with this camera

Matteo great video as always, I'm wondering how do you approach things like composition, lighting and movement when filming a scene.
Amazing as always!
Bellissime immagini.... quelle che piacciono a me 😃 dettagliate ma morbidissime, colori eccellenti. Top
Beautiful video as always!🙌🏼 You're truly my biggest inspiration when it comes to cinematography and grading!🙏🏼
Thank you so much!!!
Really great work.
Molto bello!
Nice video Matteo! Did you use audio cross fades?

Nice one, as always! May I ask how you recorded the sound? Are we listening to the camera's onboard mics? Thank's in advance!
Thanks! Just in camera mics ;)
@@matteobertoli that's cool! When using my pocket 6k I always get some kind of fan noise, so good to hear. Thank's!
Ayoooo this looks good! I'm pleasantly suprised. First time seeing a blackmagic camera ACTUALLY look good since the originals
😂 were you living under a rock?

Thanks man! It was fun! Hope to come back soon!
yaay, you came to my city Montreal
Looks really good 👍. Only used 2 nodes for grading?
Correct! Buttery and basic adjustments such as contrast and wb :)
@matteobertoli That's awesome, I watched that video last night, and it helped me a lot.

I don’t really plan my shots for gyro crop
Montreal !!
Love that city!
Gorgeous as always Matteo! Boníssima! Matteo, one question, i know you don´t like sonys or Panasonics, but do you think the GH5 falls too far behind the BMPCC 4k? Or the 6k?
Yes, way too far :)
How did you manage to get close focus on the shot of the Apple Watch in the car? Macro converter or Diopter? Or something else?
Nope, just the amazing Leica R 35mm :)
Hope you enjoyed our country!
Next time if you need a tour, I would gladly give you advice!

Nice shots as always, but what happen to stabilization? Some shots have strange gyro stab. Are you notice?
Some were very shaky. Gyro can’t do miracles
nice! will you put out anamorphic footage also?
Yes soon!
All I need to see to decide to buy a camera is to watch a video by Matteo Bertoli.
wow so impressed your camera skills are amazing if you don't mind me asking which resolution did you use thanks and hello from London
Thanks! 6K 3:2

@@DanielODonnell-t5m 😂 it’s a travel film I shot while I was in vacation. I think I could have used a russian arm as well for the car scene 😂 😂 😂
Do you guys have kids if yes, how do you manage to travel so much?
We don’t :)
Oooh there is the trick 😅
Looking unique :)
@1:51 ho visto lei che bacia lui che bacia lei 🤣🤣🤣
Sempre a canna! 😂
if BMCC6k had stabilization as good as Sony, it would be the Sony killer forever
BMCC6K is a professional cinema camera. Professionals can give a damn about IBIS
