A liitle twist on my part; For the final part, I would of made an indent all of the way around the frame with a router so when I put that back part it would fit inside the indent. Fastened with screws and viola! Nice video. I need to put my DVD's away in something like this.
Nice DVD Shelves, I personally wouldn't have used pegboard at the back. Thin piece of plywood would have been better, that's what I use when doing mine. Well done anyway on the build. Barry (from England)
Barry Roberts Pegboard has the utilitarian quality of allowing for the use of store-bought wire dvd or cd holders or dividers. It is ugly but practical if you plan on using this as a dedicated media shelf (no second life to display collectibles). Plus if you fill all the shelf space to capacity no one sees the pegboard.
I like the whole thing idea. But, in order to rest this piece against the wall, I would of made a gap on the bottom rear of the shelf in order to go flush with the wall. Another thing, I will like to add a small section to rest the DVD labeled "Playing Now"....lol... also, I will keep on mind room to install LED lights. Overall, I like the whole DVD shelving idea. Thank you...Oh! by the way, at 5:11 didn't like the idea in how the back cover sheet lay on the shelf. I would of made a crease on the wood in order to rest the cover sheet inside the wood instead of the outside of the frame. I think it would of giving a better finish to the project. Regardless, even though it is not to be seen in frontal view. These are just my ideas and in no way, form or shape, I'm trying to bash the fine work of the gentlemans on this project.
Really??? A table saw, Kreg jig, hand sander, drill and glue. This is one of the most basic builds on RUclips. Ive seen one where they were building a step stool and used a band saw, planer, jointer and cut bevel with a 500 miter guage.
He used a table saw. You don't even need an expensive one either. Even if you don't have a table saw, you can use a circular saw which is your most basic tool. If you don't even have a circular saw, I'd suggest not watching any DIY videos.
I need a DVD shelving unit for my "SHE SHED"! Measurements area is 35 inches high and 40 inches long and each shelf at least 9 inches high and 7 inches deep. What supplies would I need for that project? I go to Lowe's and they cut the boards for me. I do not have the saws. But I do have a drill. and clamps and wood glue.
DVDs are 480p, though. Blu-Rays are 1080p and abide by modern day standards.. why DVD? That stuff needs to be abolished already.. It's either Blu-Ray + DVD or just DVD only. It's seriously frustrating.
I\'m not sure but ,if anyone else wants to learn about lounge furniture plans try Jadonite Wood Blueprints Buddy (do a search on google ) ? Ive heard some great things about it and my buddy got great results with it.

Good job guys, looks like a nice multi function shelf!
Thanks!
This plan is awesome!, Also, after reading through Wooody Hyezmar's website and seeing some samples I'm working with his book as well!

You could also use thin strips of ! 1 x 2 cut into pieces attached to the back.
Hell ya good job bro. Hope to build this myself

I've found awesome plans on woodprix instructions . just check them out.
Fantastic ones
Nice work! Keep the vids coming!
Will do, I'm shooting for one to two a week now that I have some new gear!
How much you guys spend on the project?
Haters will hate, screws will be fine most have 50 lbs of strength so each shelf should be able to hold a child
what is that jig that you use for drilling the holes on an angle through the shelves?
stratmancj kreg tool
Those are Kreg branded jigs. You can buy them at Lowes. They have a small sec dedicated to Kreg tools over in the power tools sec.
This is exactly what I am looking to make except I don't have any poor tools what so ever :-(
What is the wide you used?
great vid thanks for sharing. Like the music and editing :)
It looks clean
How many dvds does it hold
Good work guys.
Whats the measurements ?
Please can i buy a good Training Video From you
Whats max count ??
I need this because my cabinet is full of discs
Hi :........... Are U telling me I have to buy all those tools , just to make a shelf ,.... Ya right
Looks to big for dvds especially Blu-ray too deep and a lot of waisted space
I want mine the right height the right deep and maybe 50 dvds wide
I GUESS YOU NEED SOME DVD'S TO FILL THAT SUCKER, HUH? I WOULD OF PAINTED EVERYTHING BEFORE ASSEMBLING.
It's good to see Woodglut have new instructions to save my money and energy to build it.
It's not dvd stand. It's just shelfs
Woodglut comes with very useful plans with all the details you need.
