- In this review we do Harrsions super simple, yet very effective LS Swapped FC RX7. It has no power steering so it was quite unique to drive. And I got to review it on a rad Kart Track!

O actually like the manual steering. It forces you to try and link everything so the car steers for you. It's more handbrake than to initiate with a kick and try to keep sliding as much. I do kill tires faster and have the stuff to put power steer in but I've gotten used to it. I know I have less steer issues than I see power guys have. I don't eat the rods as fast as other cars like mine but power.

Dude, I subscribed for the build stuff, but now you got me really interested in these drift reviews. This shit is awesome!!! You are really good at this...
I think the problem is that with the manual steering you cant rely on the handbrake to extend into the next corner as doing both manual steering with one arm and the handbrake with the other while trying not to clutch kick hard is not easy.

Dude Harrison’s a bad mother, both his rx7 and Volvo 240 are plain Jane but he fucking shreds in them. I did a ride along with him a few years back and he’s nuts behind the wheel, he doesn’t look like someone who would even be into cars lmao

I remember watching a video of Harrison practicing 100 mile entree and saw the men was driving without ps. I went outside and deleted my ps instead of fixing it and been drifting it like that since definitely different but I like it.
my 82 rx7 came factory with only power assist.
These reviews are getting better every episode Taylor. They're a perfect filler till the next project release

What kind of aftermarket sunroof does he have in there?
Saturn Vue steering columns are cheap and allow you to fit power steering in pretty much anything. Electric so no PS pump needed. Not that uncommon in the track car circle.

That’s cool man! I do think it’s a crime to drop a V8 in an RX7, but not cos of the whole rotary thing. Just cos I think if you choose a Japanese car then you should be choosing the Japanese turbo ways. But each to their own, I mean rotary is a pain to live with especially if you’re abusing it.

Yeah. I’m asking Taylor what he thought of it because he’s mentioned in the past he doesn’t like inlines. And I’d have to imagine he was feeling the difference especially when left foot breaking.

Nowadays you can easily add power steering without all the BS. Toyota Yaris, echos, corrollas have a good power assist steering. All you do is weld in the yaris steering assist in between your steering column and power wire it.
power assist is not real power steering just syaing.
Nice car and not tryna sound like a hater but I hate engine Swaps on rx7’s unless they bought the car without an engine there’s 4 rx7 hardbacks near me with no engine and one with a 302 in it that’s blown and rusted and 2 convertible’s with the motor still in it and the only hardback with the 13b has lambo doors and the interior mainly stripped which is alright for a race build but it’s just so hard to find a hardback under 9k with the motor in it buy an empty shell and build off that or just buy the car that has the motor

Kyrie Anzalone Its a dry sump oil system. Look it up for more information, because I can't explain it without demonstration.
Its not a dry sump system it's a reservoir that holds pressurized oil for pre-oiling and to discharge during low oil pressure surges.
Was that not a sump for fuel?
LSs use cast steel manifolds, not cast iron

bob de befkabouter ah, no, steel is not iron, but it is a ferus metal. You can weld steel quite easily, but cast iron is another story. I wish cast iron was easily welded, I could save the block in my 77 K5 Blazer if it was.

JPFiberglass... yeah about his stuff. On the website it looks like its super high quality, maybe some instructions.. it's not. Quality looks like home-brewed fiberglass and like fiberglass stuff it needs some massaging and cutting to work properly. I got a pair of jetstream knock off headlights from him a while back for one of my miatas. Originally it was for the drift miata, but knowing that car would be hit at some point in its life i opted for the 7" light bars on a sleepy-eye look. Definitely a lot cheaper and easy to replace than some one-off stuff. Either way the fiberglass stuff is still sitting in my room and I haven't gotten the courage to gut my pop ups out of my other miata to get everything to work. It just seems like a DIY nightmare lol.

Money and reliability
Honestly it’s mostly knowledge, it’s not like your classic piston engine where you can get in and go. You need some experience with these before they treat you right.
Because FC’s are all over craigslist for dirt cheap with blown rotary’s in them.
“Nice and simple and reliable” rotaries are reliable too... just gotta make sure they have enough oil... and beat the piss out of them

Harrison Johnson lol that statement wasn’t made to down Taylor in anyway. I don’t feel like he’s driven long enough or stuck to one chassis long enough to be a formidable driver. He’s a good driver he just needs more seat time in a under capable car to really learn the ins and outs. Just like you did in the Volvo.

We were not allowed to go off, and I was driving someone elses car. Wait for the s14 2jz review if you hate handbraking. I did this whole track without the handbrake. I don't understand this hatred for handbraking. My vette doesn't have a handbrake, and I linked road atlanta a ton of times with it. A handbrake is a tool, I use it when it's available. When it's not I don't.
