  • One of the greatest live performances ever given on this earth. I tried to remaster the sound as much as possible. I hope this sounds better than the other upload.
Whitney Houston live at the Radio City Music Hall in 1993 with a genious live medley: I Loves You Porgy/And I Am Telling You/I Have Nothing.
A performance like this should be included on a live album of hers.
The last part doesn't have a video sadly.

Not only did she sing the shit out of one of the HARDEST songs ever, she made it pretty. That too, is difficult to do. Whitney, darling, you were TRULY the most gifted singer to ever live.

I am sorry but she was the greatest MOST gifted singer to have ever exist. I understand she had personal pain she was dealing with (lifestyle choices) that ended up hindering her gift. But Whitney Elizabeth Houston was a VERY special girl. Physically and vocally she was second to none. Period 💯❤

This performance is magical as well! And clearly Ms. Whitney Elizabeth Houston gave you variety of the same song each time she performed it!
This is becoming a favorite jazz performance of hers for me!

Whitney’s gospel background contributed to her unbelievable interpretation of lyrics and melodies. This particular performance was stellar. She hit everything from the floor to the rafters with this arrangement, flawlessly.
Whitney was second in talent only to Aretha who could sing anything from gospel to R&B to Rock & Roll to Classical. Aretha was also originally a natural, ear-trained pianist, although she went on to study piano and classical vocals at Juilliard.

@@kate74808 Tell me about it. I feel like I'm the only person in the world who prefers her Columbia recordings to her Atlanta ones. Don't get me wrong, her Atlanta years were gold, but I feel like she showcased all her musicality in the very beginning of her career. Her tone used to be cleaner and her phrasing, along with the jazzy arrangements of those first albums, cut you through exactly like a bona fide singer is supposed to. "Skylark", "God Bless the Child", "If Ever I Would Leave You", to name a few, can give you that feeling.

Gosh, im in awe!! Lost for words. The final scene for the 'I wanna dance with somebody.' was the '94 version this medley. So much feels, very emotional at the end of it.. So much resonance, the techniques, clean runs, the flip between the chest and head voice. Her vibrato is sooo pretty! No other voice like hers. Gone to soon.

In Cissy Houston's but, she said that Whitney Houston's brother Michael, the one that did not sing for her, but protected her, cannot believe that she was able to get up there and do that, her voice was completely gone, that's why they did not do a lot of tour dates in 93, and put them all till I think November, but I was able to talk her into coming back in starting at Miami in July, but this was not the radio City Hall performance, she was supposed to do this I believe either at Central Park, are outside its GMA, and because her voice was so hoarse, they make you record US safety take the night before, and they use it just in case, you lip-sync it, and she just could not lip-sync, and she hated the idea they were going to use that tape, so she said she wanted she told Rickey Minor that she wanted the band to actually play, while the tape was playing, however for some reason they had technical difficulties, with those tapes smarting off, and so she said tell the tech to take the tape off completely, and her mother said nippy wait, she said Mama I got thousands of people out there screaming, they're not ready, I got to go, and she opened up without the tape playing, just when it was about to start, and Cissy wasn't close enough to take man, but she could see him, and when he heard nippy start to thing, he was really trying to fix it to make it up, and him and Cissy Houston may I contact, and she shook her head no, and there was this performance, another time her voice was a horse at all, but they told her she had to record a safety take for the national anthem, and a lot of concert venues would have her do the same thing, but she never ever used them, so when she came out to get ready to sing, but they said oh no no no no no everyone who sings the national anthem, has always lip-sync to the tape, so it will come out beautifully, and she said I don't let's sink, and she in the guy said, who hadn't a song a day in his life, said it's very very easy, all of the others have done it, you'll learn to, you'll be great, and he touched both sides of her cheeks, and she said first of all I don't like anyone touching me in my face, second of all I'm not lip-syncing, and he said something that's, and she shouted out well damn it you singing, and she ran all the way back to the trailer, and her father had no idea what's going on, so of course they went to him to figure out what could they do to get Whitney out her trailer, he's like at her trailer so course he went in her trailer, to see what was going on, when he found out, he came out and said either she seems it for real, or we're not doing it at all, you can use the tape, but we won't be out there, while it's playing, and within a matter of minutes that's all they had, they just said that they weren't going to juice to take, and that's how she made history, she sought a million copies of The Star spangled banner✨
