You can wall in wolf spiders during the day while they are sleeping and it will stop them from coming out and patrolling at night if you have problems with them roaming around your base at night.
I play with 2 of my sons and wife. One of my sons and I were out collecting resources and exploring. We stumbled on a wolf spider cave and blocked him in while he was sleeping. I hung around for awhile to see if he could get out or if he would attack it and escape. To my surprise, even when I was close to the wall (not too close tho) he would just walk into the wall until he went back to sleep. My son got the idea to put a door in the corner of the wall we made, to make it look hidden and would drop hints here and there in conversation that we had a hidden base with some extra loot we found. Eventually my other son, his older brother, found the cave and immediately ran in to nab our stuff. Worked like a charm and it was a fantastic experience for everyone else to witness.
One thing that I learned rather quickly is that if you lure a difficult bug to the ant hill? That bug will die because the ants keep spawning, and the enemy bug will be in a never-ending fight with the ants. You also get a lit of free ant parts.
I think something a lot of people forget about, or don't know is that the little radio looking thing inside every lab and field station can be used to track basically any resource you have analyzed. It will even point you to which web sac/cluster has which bug part you want!
One tip I can add is when you come across a landmark of some sort like a juice box or can or anything else be sure you pan your camera up and look at it so it gets discovered (can be stubborn). Too many times people just walk by something a dozen+ times and never discover it. Why do you want to do this? Natural Explorer mutation which makes you run faster. Combined with Aphid Slippers you can really run!
Once I learned the timing on that parry, I pretty much trivialized almost every encounter in the game. It was insane. Especially with how they stagger. I feel like that is one of the most invaluable skills to learn.
If you prefer 2-h weapons the Koi Scale Armor helps. Having that bigger perfect block window can help make sure you get it if your timing is slightly off. Of course, if you are not confident in your knowledge of bug attack patterns it can be fatal being light armor with a few missed blocks. High Risk, High Reward.

Here's a tip I discovered. When you make mushroom slurry or whatever it's called. Besides turning it into bricks you'll see that right click is drop. Find a weevil and drop it in front of it. Give it a sec and now you have extra storage space. Don't worry about leaving them behind. They will catch up eventually!

The color of the exclamation is for the type AND the REAL use of shooting an arrow instead of hitting the grass is when the droplet is above dirty water. You need the timming tho...
Another tip to add is you can chop down grass as well as other chop-able things faster by throwing your axe at it once you get the hang of throwing and picking up the axe its much faster but does more dmg to your axe. On a side note don't try throwing your axe at clovers while its faster to do so the axe sticks into the clover stem which falls through the ground along with your axe.
🤣🤣🤣🤣 or just chop stuff down until you get the mutation for harvesting speed of these items and then everything choppable becomes a single hit. Weeds will be a single fully charged swing. But you don't get this mutation by being an idiot and throwing your axe 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@hyofury5046 I mean ya throwing wont lvl up grass master but just playing the game for like an hour will get that leveled up plus once you get the hang of throwing you will never have to swap mutations to chop grass so your always combat ready. Its also good practice if you ever plan on throwing weapons at bugs. Iv also realized now that the grass master mutation has been improved by giving you stamina every time you chop grass you can use it to sprint across the yard and never run out of stamina if you just swing your axe at grass as you sprint by it.

One really good tip is in the beginning when you’re weak and can’t fight anything is to first have the full ant armor set and lure tough bugs into the ant hill and let the ants take care of the threat and then you’ll have a bunch of dead ants plus whatever you tried luring in. My favorite to lure in is the stink bugs since they can kill a lot of the ants
this video had me second guessing the info. i thought i knew everything but as the video progressed i learned a few important tips! youre awesome, Thank you!
Totally irrelevant but I'm saying it anyway 🤣. I wish they would introduce some kind of grass killer like maybe a machine or a bottle of Roundup, so you can clear areas for bases and keep the grass from growing. It would be especially useful for ziplines, sometimes you have to build the zipline incredibly high just to avoid hitting grass blades depending on where you are.
Fastest way to get plant fiber is to chop the base of the grass blade, it drops 4-8 fiber no reason you should be spinning fiber when you can get 100 in a minute
Some secrets I wish I knew were that there is a secret lab in the wall at the milk carton, and gives a decent weapon and trinket, and there’s even a secret cave that gives a rotten ant club which is pretty decent at the start of the game and a blueprint for the ant head on a stick, which is gruesome but awesome if you want to display your hate for ants!
Good tips but i figured that stuff out on my own, one thing i didn't know though i just discover is you press u to copy any object you crafted you don't have go through the menu evetime. Just press u if you want multiple of the same chest for example or plank pallet.

Tip #11: if you didnt have arachnohobia before, YOU WILL AFTER. Some look to be the size of an SUV and will run your ass down while biting it Tip #12: spiders + night = DETH. Wolf spiders are nocturnal hunters. Meaning they hunt at night. And they are deadly early game DO NOT EVEN TRY. Also its terrifying to be in a cave, your torch go out, and all you hear is that hiss/howl before youre zero'd
What time of night do wolf spider usually leave their slumber spots? Do you know "Pro"? So long as you get to sleep before 10-11 you don't even need to break a sweat over the wolf spiders. While sleeping you can practically jump on them before they agro onto you. Here you go too "pro". Wait till you notice a wolf spider at night and carefully follow it around. When morning breaks you can find out where they sleep so you can avoid them more easily 🤣🤣🤣🤣 and here too "pro" since you now have a fear of spiders. Why didn't you turn on arachnophobia mode? You can reduce the intimidation factor of the spider by multiple different levels to make them less realistic and more forgiving to look at.

The color of the exclamation is for the type AND the REAL use of shooting an arrow instead of hitting the grass is when the droplet is above dirty water. You need the timming tho...
Oh man, I just started playing this and built a base on a Lily pad as well. Opening scene affirmation.
I’m a little late but I just wanted to say I am trying to beat the game without armor. It’s gone well, pond and haze labs are done, I plan on beating the broodmother but no other bosses
i had literally no idea about equipting mutations... i also spent forever trying to figure out why my danelion wouldnt work and keep falling to my death
You can also throw your axe or spear at dew drops and can stand directly beneath them and slurp them before they even hit the ground
this video had me second guessing the info. i thought i knew everything but as the video progressed i learned a few important tips! youre awesome, Thank you!
After you chop down a piece of grass you can cut down the bottom part of it to get I think it’s 4 fiber it might be 3 though
Just chop the stumps and they won't grow back.
@@diamonds420 that's not true
@@hughjass1976 it's true for me. I chopped the stumps up and the grass doesn't grow back. Maybe it's a setting that can be turned on or off.
Fastest way to get plant fiber is to chop the base of the grass blade, it drops 4-8 fiber no reason you should be spinning fiber when you can get 100 in a minute
It's a short term fix I have had grass not grow back by doing that or it take a lot longer to grow back
This right here. Dude has 900 hours and brought nothing good to the table
Thank you! Very useful! I didn't know many of this things
I love how these tip videos tell you to analyze shit yet you literally have to in order to craft anything or progress
Good helpful vid bro. I just started playing. Love it.
Dang this might be the best tips video I’ve ever seen. Great speed and right too the point
You can also carry planks while transporting a pallet full of planks 😊
When building stairways out of mushroom brick, use the half stairs to get 1.5x more distance out of em
Some secrets I wish I knew were that there is a secret lab in the wall at the milk carton, and gives a decent weapon and trinket, and there’s even a secret cave that gives a rotten ant club which is pretty decent at the start of the game and a blueprint for the ant head on a stick, which is gruesome but awesome if you want to display your hate for ants!
building your own short cuts around the maps is very helpful
I noticed if you wear the red ant armour the warrior red ants ignore completely
thats the set armor perk
Good tips but i figured that stuff out on my own, one thing i didn't know though i just discover is you press u to copy any object you crafted you don't have go through the menu evetime. Just press u if you want multiple of the same chest for example or plank pallet.
You can build shelves using half floor and half walll to organize your chest better.
Great video, are you planning a video for today about the new things that have come with the full release? I’m stuck at work and looking for things to look forward to when I get home
Make a stuffed spiderling and activate it before going to harvest egg sacs for better luck getting bug parts
I notice the game updated so some older vids no longer help so this vid is extremely helpful ty 😎 if anyone wants to farm webs now the hedge is best area orb weavers easy to kill there plus eggs 😉
After I saw enough landmarks to get natural explorer up and carried around aphid slippers, suddenly running everywhere didn't feel like a chore because I got so fast
Solid content thxs!
You don't need an arrow to reach water drops, you can throw a rock at it c:
The most important thing I’ve ever learned is just like the berry leather, you can dry out pupa leather with a jerky rack
Very useful tips 👍, now moving a pallet full of grass or stems will be so useful to make camps 😊
at 4:57 im glad im not the only one that has crazy freezes/lag when i peep something kinda far
Pro tip for when you need to move a lot of materials:
You can relocate a palate WHILE you're carrying a stack of stuff in hand! Put ant armor on to carry 8, and workers comp smoothie makes for 10. Then relocate the stack at the same time and you have plenty of supplies!
I feel baited. 900 hours and that's all you got? Beginner game mechanics that the game tells you about and some basic stuff. Now I admit I didn't know about the whole pop out of water to shoot and putting collectors under the juice but the other things? Buddy come on. Label this video as a beginner guide not tips from 900 hours.
Yeh bro almost everything here I knew already and I’ve only really just scratched the surface of the game
Cant know the weaknesses till u fight the boss, so It Will at least kill you once
Lol. What an entitled brat.
Came here to say the same thing
Just 50 hours here and this is obvious
Bruh most of this stuff i learned in the first hour. Glad to know i have gamer senses
I got the unlimited glider early game, (dandelion tuft sparkly) was awesome until i got better trinkets for fighting and would forget to switch it back and die an hour later from fall damage thinking i had it equipped LOL
Before watchin I learned early that it’s faster to harvest grass wit level 1 axe if u throw em twice instead of slashing 10 times waaaay faster when speed building stuff
Thanks for these tips! :D
You can also throw things like pebblets at the dew drop to make it fall down
O la! A 'breakthrough'! Totally stuck on Tier 2 bug parts. Thank you!😎
Tip #11: if you didnt have arachnohobia before, YOU WILL AFTER. Some look to be the size of an SUV and will run your ass down while biting it
Tip #12: spiders + night = DETH.
@@hyofury5046 cus arachiphobia mode is just blobs with eyes that hiss scream AND damage me, which is waaay worse somehow.. plus i dont have arachnophobia, i let rl wolf spiders crawl over my hand all the time
i mean analyze everything ... who played this game for 10 min and gave up because they couldn't progress. content is content! churn it out
wow, we should do the things the tutorial taught us to do and not run out of oxygen while swimming. Well thank goodness I found this video! After 900 hours that's your hot advice? I appreciate anyone who is doing their part to help and educate new players but why not tell us to not run out of health while you're at it?
Be VERY careful relocating pallets as getting aggroed cancels the move, sending the pallet back to where it was
That's not the case anyomore. They patched it so you can at least put it down now.
The dandelion trinket is so useful when going to the hedge lab
Instead of using arrows to collect dew drops you can just hit the grass blade that the dew drop is on and the drop with fall down.
Brooo… why didnt i think about moving the pallet! I am 211 days in and ive built maybe 4 mega bases…. All while carrying my grass and stems… fml
You can hang pupa on the jerky rack to make pupa leather :)
lol ive been playing for 3 days the next thing i was going too look for is best places to build a base cheers mate
If you block with the crossbow it skips the reload, so you can rapid fire it
And the you get rough reload so it will do almost no damage.
7:12 it's only useful if you not building a base from grass cuz under i built the fort i got around 8 full chests of plant fiber from the grass stunks
One of your best tips after playing over 900 hours is "if your oxygen reaches zero, you will drown"? Lmao
