The rude ground staff upon arrival at LGA and JFK is like a comical welcome to NYC. If you're arriving, it sobers you up to what you're about to experience outside. For connecting pax it is rightly questionable.

Connecting in LGA is quite an experience. Wonder what happens if someone is disabled and can't do all of the stairs .Guess you get to ride on one of those complimentary carts to take you between gates. Looking forward to flying out of Roanoke in March. We live about 100 miles west of Roanoke. We usually fly out of Charlotte by decided not to drive so far. We will connect on to Charlotte then fly on to La s Vegas. You are so correct, Roanoke is a very nice small airport.

PHX Aviation & Travels They could make the experience quite a bit less bad if they’d ditch that 110 degree boarding tube. It’s too bad bus gates tend to be a nasty experience in the US. Only other place I can think of where it’s commonplace is the notorious gate 35X at DCA. Meanwhile my experiences at CUN were totally fine. Nice gate areas, nice busses, and they tend to board using both forward and rear doors.

Man, you sure got the stereotypical LGA experience. Disorganized layout, gates that involve going down fire escapes and dark alleys, boarding agents with sticks up their asses, and a 10 minute-long bus ride if you’re flying on the regionals. And that FA on the plane? No comment. At least you got to end your trip positively at a great field and facility like ROA.

By telling you it was illegal to film during flight, she was "operating under false color" of law. It's the basis for a lawsuit against a police officer for him to compel you to submit to a unlawful order. I'm sure it has not yet been tried against air crew, but she set herself up for a lawsuit by invoking false claims of law.

jr132 It’s actually just the 140s. They were in storage for a couple years, but AA/Envoy put them back in service as their contract with Air Wisconsin was winding down. As they go through heavy checks they’re being repainted in the new livery.

The Elevator Channel Thanks for the info. I noticed that there was some of those Wisconsin Crj-200s that came from American now flying under United. Too bad to see that livery go it feels like it’s been around forever. Maybe they’ll keep one in it like American did with their 737 but I doubt it.

Anyone else find that STL take off roll a little long? It's still within the 35 second average..just seems long for a small aircraft.
Also, the FA is wrong about it being "illegal" but it is *technically* against their policy to either film or take still photographs on the aircraft. It's just that no one enforces it. 'Cept that lady. 👎🏻

    • @TheElevatorChannel

    • @airplanegod

Not illegal and only against policy to film crew members/passengers without their permission. The airlines allow and even encourage you take photos out the window. Unfortunately with power hungry individuals like this FA they could call the captain and say you are an "uncooperative passenger" and have police meet the flight upon landing.

Just returned from a 16 day trip to Delaware with most but not all nights in a HI; never had one this dated; I generally have two issues with most all hotel rooms - (1) Very insufficient lighting and (2) inadequate locations of electrical outlets for our modern day electronic gizmos; they should be sufficiently distributed at desktop level and at bedside. This hotel seemed to be lacking on the electrical outlets necessitating and extension which I always carry with me.
I always had connecting flights at STL and never had to stay overnight there.

I've had two experiences similar to yours--MD-80 pushback at IAH,just about as we were taxiing and on final approach to DEN(or is it DIA?),the AA MD-80 was making a cool hard left to the runway when the FA told me to stop filming--just before touchdown,I resumed my action,my adrenaline running, fearing that a passenger would tattle on me--your ground experience at LGA was ridiculous--and to think this is an everyday thing for passengers--at least you had good weather, save for the heat.

Here's American Airlines film policy: Use of still and video cameras, film or digital, is permitted only for recording personal events. Photography or video recording of airline personnel, equipment, or procedures is strictly prohibited. AA’s ban on photography will now extend to filming employees at/in “any airline area” including ticket counters, gates, cargo, baggage, (and of course on-board)

" including ticket counters, gates, "
Which are often not owned by the airlines themselves (not always, but in a lot of cases - ESPECIALLY at airports with terminal space shared by multiple airlines) - which would, to anyone privy to this fact, enable a lot of silly interactions at an airport terminal PARTICULARLY if you aren't on the flight of a crewmember bitching you out is on, or if you are traveling on ANOTHER airline that shares the terminal space with American.
