  • We’re looking back at the ZT0170 and comparing it to the recently released 0006. We’re also looking back at the RJ MARTIN designed Rogue and comparing it to the recent Livewire OTF.
I just received both of these today from House Of Blades. Links to these knives at HOB are below.

I just got my hands on the ZT 0006 and I have to say I am very impressed, the fit and finish is basicly perfect and it feels incredibly nice in the hand. As other have said the handle appears to be not very ergonomic and basic, however in the hand it actually feels very nice due to the champering and texturing of the G10, and is very easy to index. In my opinion it a great aesthetically pleasing all-rounder that should be fairly proficient in almost any reasonable application.

I like the look of the 0006 but the handle is something I do not like. There is no swell to help it settle into the hand (they could have used a coffin handle at a minimum, or added a flared butt plate). Other than my complaint about the handle I think it is a nice blade.
I prefer fixed blades over non-fixed blades.

Well CPM3V is a great steel, but as of now there are plenty of very good stainless steel tactical style knife for about the same price and some with Elmax for example. The design is great but another things i don't like is the skeletonized handle underneath the grip, it reduces weight but also rigidity.

Zt should stop making fixed blade knives, they are not good at all.
