      Thanks mate, I starting to play Tekken and learning Mishima since 7, now all my mishima in green, then I found I can always win or tie yellow and orange rank players, but always have issues in green rank. I think it because I'm getting used to the stick, and also Mishima's execution. And I play and learn other characters for the matchup, and it's just feel so easy to get a yellow rank with all others lol. Now half of my cast is green rank. I think it is time for me to bring Mishima to Yellow. And also thanks for those guides, epecially for Leo, Bob, Jack. And just watched the Gigas guide, will try Gigas tonight to the green. Cheers mate. 大変、ありがとうございました

    I hover between juggernaut and vanquisher right now after around 4 months of this game. I felt like it is kinda easy to do combos, but literally everything else is really hard and feels very accomplishing to learn. I have to say this game is the best pvp experience I've had yet. yes there are toxic online warriors, I actually fucked up my finger because I was really salty because of the game, and sometimes online is not that great
    but goddamn if any game is worth learning it is this one. you'll always learn each time you play, you feel yourself growing, getting faster and better. It is really an experience I would have missed.

    my tip for beginners is DON'T PICK A HARD CHARACTER, this is: Steve, Hworang, Mishimas, Akuma or Nina. If you are a beginner, what you don't need is to learn the hard way, pick a rounded character like Law, Paul, King, Katarina, Claudio, Lars or Shaheen, you will learn sooo much faster to punish, to combo, to mix up, etc. If the enemy player is -15 do a f*cking hopkick, not a just frame electrick.

    • @FrameWhisperer
      @FrameWhisperer  7 лет назад +8

      I would add Lee to the list of hard characters. That's a somewhat controversial opinion though.

    • @Pilsudski_Tekken
      @Pilsudski_Tekken 7 лет назад +4

      FrameWhisperer Tekken yeah, it's common to say "pick always the character you love" but that is bullcrap. Back in TTT2 I loved Steve and mishimas and they brought me nothing but tears and rage in green ranks against Asukas or Lilis.

      Pick anyone really, some of these hard characters a simple gameplan to an extent, Kazuya has few moves, which means less studying, and more execution practice. Hwoarang is easy to pick up but hard to master.

    Here’s my question....does offline rating matter at all? I am currently ‘tekken god prime’ offline (cos i dont get much online play...internet connection is 3 bars at best) but i know i’ll probably be a yellow rank online

    • @BGLkhagva
      @BGLkhagva 7 лет назад

      Harold Nixon offline rank pretty much says that u have enough experience on with ur character that u wont miss combos etc when u play against human opponents.
      Thats my opinion and what i think the offline rank grinding is useful for. Unlike practice mode, with a bot opponent, u will be finding urself in many different scenarios such as different ranges from the wall, wall splat angles etc.

    Just one thing, what turned me from an american scrub to someone whos more knowledgeable than almost any other american on tekken, was simply realizing that every action has consistent frame data, even movements, parrys, armor, crush some examples are you need at least 6 frames to sidestep anything, so if ur at -4 after getting hit u can normally sidestep jabs, low crush needs 9 frames to activate, high crush needs 4 frames, mid crush 8 frames, ducking is 1 frame, etc etc, this is how u break down your offensive 5050s to make sure they cant do certain options so this is also how you move around your opponent and defend yourself as a result, makes it alot easier to start practicing movement when youre not getting hit for sidestepping randomly and getting 100% of the time because you dont have at least 6 frames, theres multiple aspects and reasons as to why things happen like the natural tracking or realignment etc, but to do something in this game u need to at least know how fast what ur doing starts ups so u know when u can use it
    P.S. If youre playing on a tv, especially non main brand or large, you probably need to look at a gaming monitor, I personally have a 39 in westinghouse tv and i hooked my laptop to test my picture delay as my tv has no game mode in picture settings, i recorded 2-4 extra frames of picture delay at all times, this is a huge problem, it affects all reactions, timings, literally everything, so there might be some hardware issues affecting your gameplay, though a low battery on controller or a charging ds4 controller, and your tv, are by far the biggest ones, and the ones u need to worry about, just make sure ur on game mode, or have a gaming monitor, and make sure your ds4 controller is on 2 or 3 bars of power and is not plugged into the ps4(has more lag plugged in than wireless), one other thing is the ps4 pro does potentially add an extra frame of input delay at 8.4f instead of the ps4s 7.6, so maybe if u have both choose the regular, but i doubt it would really matter.

I know a few months ago you did a Lars guide, but i like to see you use Lars and online rank or player match to see how to use Lars against good people. Like for example, when to go in to attack, perfect timing to use art blast etc.. you did videos for Katarina, Josie and Chloe. Would like to see some more Lars gameplay.

I haven't been able to play tekken all week, but somehow I'm better than the last time I played, just from watching pros and thinking about how I need to incorporate more movement into my gameplay. I've finally made it to the vindicator. I'd like to give you credit as well man, watching your guides helps me understand how other characters work, which helps me understand how to beat them. I would say keep playing, change comes slowly so you don't notice it over short periods time. Sort of like how you never notice your own hair getting longer. Hwoarang has a very large moveset and many stances so if you want something more straightforward try Miguel, Katarina, Kazumi, Shaheen, Alisa, Claudio or Lars.

      No, I think he is very strong as is. I'm no expert but I think practicing your hook fist and playing defensively are good general tips for Jin. Also use a lot of Demon Paw, the move is amazing.

    • @spiritualopportunism4585
      @spiritualopportunism4585 7 лет назад

      But he's so impractical relative to the rest of the roster. If you don't have the knowledge you might as well lie down. I think his infamous line "power is everything" is subliminally referring to knowledge is power. He's honest in a very dishonest game, I think he needs some gimmick cause it's stressful and favoritism in this game seems pointless because it doesn't seem so balanced and so playing it is pointless. Yes, i'm salty. Tekken can be very annoying and incomprehensible.

      TheWisdomOfSilenus my Jin is at vanquisher and i feel like he has an answer for almost anything as an exchange for the lack of "wtf" moves. Also has a very decent punish game.
      Imo jin also shines when you are able to utilise his slower moves like f+4. Also jin isnt a character that you can just play without warm-up. Do a few player matches or spend 5 minutes on practice mode to warm up.

    I think the problem people don't get with throw breaks is that it's not a matter of reflexes, it's a matter of how long it takes your brain to make a decision. When you first start playing, it isn't that you are not fast enough to hit the button it's that it's taking your brain too long to decide what button to hit. With experience you'll start to recognize the animation faster and making that decision way faster.

    First of all, I gotta give you credit for your content. I really like everything I've clicked on. You articulate yourself very well, you don't really go off on a tangent and you explain 1 thing from a couple of angles which is good. Great structure too which makes them easy to digest. You may put some folks to sleep tho haha
    As someone who's reached Orange ranks time ago, I watched this purely to see if your experience was similar to my own. I went through all these stages you mentioned while playing TTT2 ranked and by god is this accurate.
    I'm literally here to say that this vid is 100% accurate in my experience when I look back on my journey through and to orange ranks. If your "Tekken Concept" vids were around like 4/5 years ago, I'd have progressed much quicker instead of learning through trial and error in Ranked battles.
    Keep up the great content. Peace!

    IMO you are amongst the top Tekken RUclipsrs right now that new players should be watching, always great content and you are very articulate. One thing that personally helped me at lower ranks was an awareness of frame traps or CH setups/fishing, both recognising when it was being done to me and I shouldn't press a button, or a doing it to other people.

    Hey there. I love the video. US Army Soldier here and the comment about being in Basic Training/Boot Camp is pretty spot on. In Basic Training, you are basically broken down and learn to let go of bad habits and things that you are used to going your way don't happen. I've gone from Warrior to Grand Master and back at least 3 times. Grinding through the Green Ranks really taught me about patience and having a plan. Also thanks for the Josie video. I've picked her up since launch and I'm well on my way. Thank you sir =]

    Another great video. Almost motivational for me. I’ve been playing tekken since the first installation. Tekken 6 was the first time I played tekken online and it blew me away how deep the game was. However, in T7, I’m stuck in the Green Rank Grind. Today most Green Rankers have plateaued with their main characters in higher ranks, and now use secondary characters. So Green Ranks is a war zone.
    And yes, I going to ask again for a lee tutorial.

    • @FrameWhisperer
      @FrameWhisperer  7 лет назад +6

      That is true. Lately I'm noticing that low rank players usually have a high rank main and it is getting harder. That can also mean you get more chances to learn against advanced players, so it's not all bad!

    • @GoogleUsedToLetThisNameBeLong
      @GoogleUsedToLetThisNameBeLong 7 лет назад +5

      Agreed, green ranks contains a lot of people who have higher characters and are working on secondary characters, as well as people that have spent TONS of time bouncing between yellow/high green with 500/1000/1500 wins etc. And as you said, it is a true "Warzone".
      Since the game has been out a good while now, all those people who were trying to learn or refusing to change their ways have given up, and all that remains are the people who are dedicated in trying to climb the ladder. I have 1 character in yellows and 3 in greens and I almost never run into anyone who is "free". Worst thing is some people that are just sick of losing at this point will pull out the cheesiest online tactics if you get ahead of them and spam their most hated "secret discord tech" they can get their hands on! Sigh. The battle continues!

      Couldn’t agree more! All the fat has been trimmed. You can tell by the facts: there are a lot less akuma players, I’m starting to notice I’m playing the same players more often, there are grandmasters trucking me with only 4 wins, there are grandmasters trucking me with 435 wins.
      I’d say 65-75% of the casual consumer has left the tekken. What’s left is dedicated players, experienced players, and players that are good to great at fundamentals.
      All my wars are fought in green ranks. At this point i don’t care about the ranks because they mean very little.

    I can't escape the teal ranks forever bounced between mentor and 2nd Dan. You still need so much knowledge of other characters in order to succeed. Rush down characters almost feel impossible to beat if you don't know the frames or when or how to interrupt.
