Watching your 2 videos about virtua cop made me remember how only once i got to fill that bar and get the incredible 2x multiplier for my points for one minute
That mentality about the rare games being the only good ones is bullshit, some games are cheap and common because they sell a lot of copies for being awesome games, just like Virtua Cop 1 and 2.
Right? Although, as common as Super Mario 64 and Ocarina of Time are, they aren't as cheap as I'd expect. I wonder if it's one of those things where, because they *are* must-have titles for the platform, folks aren't as quick to part with 'em? Haven't figured that one out yet. Regardless, they're my favorite entries in their respective franchises and I'm glad to have 'em. The first games I got with my Saturn were the three-back (Virtua Fighter 2, Daytona USA, and Virtua Cop), though my ma' took me to Electronic Boutique over at the Del Amo mall, and I picked up - I think - Burning Rangers, Panzer Dragoon and Resident Evil. Pretty sure the first game I ever played was a demo for Panzer Dragoon over at Toys "R" Us and I was just floored. I thought it was awesome.
So glad to see new reviews Andy, your wit is on par! I love the VHS quality maintained throughout. The neckbeard comment and you giving yourself a "WTF?" look into the camera had me cracking up in the VC1 review. I also picked up a Saturn back with the 3 game pack offer (Virtua Cop, Daytona USA and Virtua Fighter 2). Hell of a pack in right there and I still have it! Played them all for months. No light gun for VC either, just the D-Pad and I didn't care, still awesome. The Virtua Cop series is amazing. -Nick
DUDE! Holy shit! How the Hell are you? Feel like I haven't yacked at ya' in ages. How you doin'? Hahaha! Yeah, I should've waited on the neck-beard comment. I'm just rockin' a mustache now (Erica and I are shooting a short movie, so I lost the beard to better play my role). I look like an undercover cop, or a Goth Freddie Mercury, or Lemmy. LOL!
@@MasterCastTV Hah, good joke and delivery either way. And yeah, it's been ages since we yacked. Doing good though. Still making lots of shirts and playing lots of retro games. But it feels good to see the reviews back on, I go back and watch My Life Sega, and now that oddly feels nostalgic and comforting. Since we are on the subject of light gun shooters, you should review Sega's Alien 3: The Gun. I know it's exclusive to arcade, but if you have a Raspberry Pi or Mame, it's worth revisiting.
I've been considering a Raspberry Pi for arcade games. There's a bunch I've love to touch on. Just haven't gotten around to it just yet. Still, I've played Alien 3: The Gun, and I enjoy the fuck out of it, along with the Jurassic Park shooter SEGA released. So fuckin' sweet!
Haha! Thank you very much. I tend to quote flicks like Broken Arrow, Tango & Cash and Beverly Hills Cop - a lot - so of course they'd find their way into my videos.
@@MasterCastTV 80s action films had all the best quotes, the more they're used the better I say. Love your vids on the Jaguar too! My fiancé got me one for my birthday a few months ago as I'd wanted one since they first came out back in the day but I never got one. My bro got me Doom for it, such a great port! I'm currently in the process of selling my left kidney to buy Alien vs Predator lol.
So what you're saying here, if I'm reading you correctly, is Virtua Cop 2 doubles your chances of getting laid and comes with a path select option in game. Great stuff.
Another beloved game! i think i didnt buy it utnil much later around 1998 but i put a LOT i mean A LOT OF hours playing it! lovely videos as always bro
Hey, don't you worry, we still have arcades - in a fashion. They serve food and booze now, so - in a way - arcade gaming has gone back to its roots. Hahaha! Honestly, the last rail-shooter I recall seeing done in this fashion was Terminator Salvation, which proved to be better than the movie. We even had it at the St Charles 9.
The best thing u did here was mocking those people who used to say Saturn can't handle 3D games, have they forgot ( TR, RE, Virtua Fighters, Sonic Run , Deep Fear, and let's don't forget the Panzer Dragoon trilogy!!!)
I've heard it so fucking much over the years, and much of it continues to this day. I mean, don't get me wrong, I get that the 3D often doesn't look as refined or crisp as PSX. Still, it can definitely handle 3D, and well. There are even examples of 3D that look objectively better than PlayStation (Virtua Fighter 2, Sonic R, the Panzer Dragoon series, Dead or Alive), so these folks that dismiss it so easily is just irritating. Really, I think it should be said that developers struggled with the hardware, as opposed to the hardware struggling with 3D.
Saturn, can't handle 3D oh boy just about any fanboy in the 90's for N64&Playstation gave me that crap.Saturn could do it but it's architect didn't make it easy that's all if anything.VC2 was often a lightgun game i replay many times over to see if i could 1cc it.
It is just so good! I totally agree on the whole price vs value thing. I have played some completely shitty games that go for hundreds, and also games that I absolutely adore that cost me $10. I collect to play, and not to have every expensive game for the sake of it's monetary value. I'd rather look at my wall of games and think "Wow, that looks like a lot of fun" and not "Wow, I really spent a lot of money on shit to stare at and never want to play"
I could not have said it better myself. There was a time where I'd collect anything but, after awhile, I just asked myself, "Why? Really, why am I acting like a storage unit? I'm not going to open a museum or some shit. I just have this garbage I'll never touch taking up space. Fuckin' get rid of it and concentrate on good games." Since I've done, I'm a dan sight happier. Tyler Durden reminded me once that the things we own end up owning us.... Well, I don't want Plumbers Don't Wear Ties owning me - ever!
I gotta pick up the Virtua Cop games and a light gun at some stage. To The Earth on the NES has run its course, ^_^. Just joking, ;-), I still need to complete that. Furthest I've got, is to the moon!

I totally agree. Sonic 2 is about as common as dirt, though it's still fun as shit.

This is a good fuckin channel. Just enough profanity, snark, and factual non revisionist review to satiate my advanced gaming sensibilities.
Thank you! I don't care for revisionist history either. It's just bullshit, and I think we have plenty of that in the world as it is.
